The price of amps is ridiculous , I'm been trying to get one from Moonraker and BANGGOOD, but BANGGOOD do one which you can only put ABOUT 2to 3 watts into it, so no good for me, RM do better stuff and finally I got hold of someone on the radio and they got a RM 300 with a pre amplifier. For half the price.thanks for your channel ALAN 💯👍
Hi Jez, that's seems to be an odd place to mount the cooling fan considering where it was originally placed to exhaust hot air out of the case, where are the output transistors in this amplifier and do they have a heatsink, might be worth while having a look, you'll definitely have to use a larger battery if your planning to spend some time out with it.
I would like to know if the output can be turned down to around 20 watts PEP or can the input power just be lowered to get this output level on SSB ? Also will it work on CB ?
I have a doubt in that case. AM is continuous carrier power. Most of the SSB radios are rated for Peak Envelope Power (PEP). My FT-710 is rated as 100W PEP, for SSB. But on AM, it is rated only for 25W! Is this Micro PA50 rated for PEP or continuous AM carrier power?
@@johnsonstechworldJez is going to do some testing. I couldn't find a spec after a little bit of googling so might as well ask someone who has got one. Even if it's low at least I'll know and can rule it out.

What happens if you press the FM button 106 times? 😂
Hi Jez. can the PA50 do AM? my rig is limited to 25w on AM so being able to up it's game cheaply would be great.
Not sure not tried it on am will do and see how it goes
Moving from 25w to 50w will make virtually no difference whatsoever
@@Perthshire sure. it's 3db not even an s-point. but i would still like to experiment.
