Chicken:
6 drumsticks
1-2 tsp seasoning salt ( season to taste)
1/2 tsp black pepper
few drops liquid smoke
1-2 tbs honey
1/2 tsp dry thyme
Mac n Cheese:
1 pound elbow macaroni
1 pound sharp cheddar cheese
1 pound shredded american cheese
1.5 cups whole milk
1/2 stick butter
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
shredded sharp cheddar for topping
Green beans:
24-36oz frozen green beans
1 tbs granulated chicken bouillon
Pork neck bones
1-2 tsp onion powder
1 cup water
salt and pepper to taste
Candied Yams:
2 pounds sweet potatoes
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup maple syrup
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp all-spice
1 stick butter
1 cap-full of lemon extract (use the cap/top that comes with the bottle of lemon extract)
Catfish:
6-8 catfish fillets
Old Bay seasoning
2 cups fine corn meal
1/2 cup self-rising flour
3 tbs kosher salt
1 tbs paprika
1 tbs garlic powder
1 tbs onion powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
cooking oil for deep frying
Cornbread:
1 cup fine yellow corn meal
1 cup self-rising flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 stick melted butter
1 cup whole milk
1 tbs honey
1 large egg

How to make cornbread
2 cups yellow cornmeal
1/4 self rising flour
3/4 cup sugar (optional)
1 1/2 cup milk (buttermilk/ milk of choice)
2 tsp mayo
1 egg
Sweet corn nibblets ( optional)
4 tsp butter (save 1 tsp in cast iron heated pan)
Mix well, should be thick but movable liquid.
Melt butter in oven in cast iron pan, once melted. Pull out immediately pour batter in pan. Cook on 375. Do not open oven until after 25 minutes. If you like darker, leave 10 more minutes. Good luck!

Great video but I've learned that it's easier to place potatoes in dish and pour syrup mixture on it and bake until soft that way you won't break up potatoes

I use buttermilk, and then about 15 minutes into the cooking time when the batter is still loose, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter to the top, mix in and finish cooking until 25 minutes is completed. Once done add more butter at the top, about 1 tablespoon.
On your cornbread had a healthy tablespoon of mayo in the batter.. It will make it moist and you can't taste the flavor of it in the bread. Also next time you make green beans try some slivered almonds in them. They are really good that way.

My surgery went good without any complications but my 3 surgery is set up for January 15th wish me luck. It’s to remove another tumor that grew in my gallbladder next to the liver so the cancer is spreading wish and prayers please I’m really going through it

When I make cornbread, after I add the wet ingredients to the dry and combine them, I let it sit on the counter top for a half hour to an hour. It lets the cornmeal hydrate and it doesn’t come out so dry. It took a lot of trial and error and gluey dry cornbread for me to figure that out! Haha 😂

my experience (I’m from the south) with cornbread is best when with dishes that are saucy. It’s meant to sop up juices (in my opinion). It’s really good with a tomato based meatloaf, or a pot roast. My grandmother (RIP) use to do cornbread with meatloaf, mashed potatoes, smothered cabbage (with pepper sauce). OMG! I’m making myself hungry. LOL!!!!
