This narrative is extremely interesting and well done. It is immensely helpful that you have included maps and actual videos of the locations and terrain where these events occurred. Congratulations on a thoughtful and accurate depiction of the story and events.
I have been enjoying your series on the Indian Wars. You bring unbiased perspectives to locations and known actions at the scene. 50 years trying to understand what took place it’s been helpful watching your videos. Most fascinated thinking of the men clinging to Reno Hill the night just after the battle, the natives celebrating in their village just below.
Your narration brings an authentic quality, reflecting a true passion project. Hiring others makes it feel corporate affiliated 😊

Just started this series, personally I prefer your voice to the “professional “ voices
It's not a professional voice, it's all AI computer generated...by a professional voice actor who didn't even use his own voice.

In mid-May, the Yellowstone River is usually in full spring flood, and it is BIG & WIDE snd in all of the side channels, with lots of floating trees.

This a comment/ question from Guildford in England. Why do whenever you do these historical native films, do you insist in getting narrators with voices that speak deeper than Lee Marvin? People want the narrator to sound like he knows what he’s talking about, not that he has a voice deeper than Lee Marvin.
@@davidcook7887 Hello Sir. Thank you for the feedback. I had one person email me that they thought his voice it had a "western" feel to it. It sounds like you are fine with just me doing my own narration? I despise the sound of my own voice, but that seems to be a standard human bias. Personally I don't really care either way of them being used. I've grown quite Impressed with Your Stylings & Delivery of Your Material in the Episode's. So I say You Decide if they are necessary? Too the Episode's or Not. Keep Up the Great Work.
Great video. I wish I had the ability and time to do a similar video series on the movements of Cornwallis, Ferguson, and Tarleton leading from pre-Kings Mountain to Yorktown. The data and locations are there, scattered all along the roads I travel every day. Cowpens was a hell of a fight.

I am a Custer Buff and still learned many things from your episodes. Huzzah! for your effort. I look forward to seeing the rest. As you have asked, I have some comments.
Your choice of movie clips, etc., are excellent and while not always authentic, do illustrate events and the environment.
The voice actors are good quality and it breaks up the sound of your narration. One pronunciation could be looked into. The Lakota name for Whites is Wasitchu- Wah-SEE-chu, rather than Wah-see-CHU. A native speaker might clarify.
I know there are technical and economic limitations to mapping, but I found your use of graphics against the photographic maps to be hard to follow. I could not always tell which movement the narrator was describing. Is there a way to animate the arrows and movements to correspond with the narration? Better are simpler the Park-Service-style maps. Again, kudos for the fine effort.
I like your ground truth scenes with the selfie stick. I have a better sense of scale than with just a wide shot.
Thank you. It totally burned my behind when Wasichus was mispronounced. Oh well, that experiment is complete. Note, that I will be using more animation going forward. I am used to the good old days of static operational graphic overlays, but it seems I need to join the 21st Century.

Great series. I've been following a lot of the Old West on a podcast but I like to see video as well. Especially to put an actual face to the names. In fiction stories imagination is fine but not non-fiction.
I would rather hear just one, consistent voice instead of 2 for your story narration.

The Great Spirit! It is better pronounced Thanka not Tanka. That is my understanding. By the way, Wasichu is better pronounced Wah-Seee-Chew. I learned that from watching the series Deadwood!

@@MilitaryHistory317 As per Capt. Benteen, there were 8 to 9 thousand warriors in the camp along the LBH River. Please look into how the warriors were able to conceal themselves from Custer as he rode down Medicine Coulee toward the river.

@@MilitaryHistory317 I found Major Reno's description of the fighting. He wrote that several estimates he saw ranged from 2500 to 5000 warriors.
I admire Custer and his men as much as the warriors. These me met their destiny. They never ran from it, they ran to it. Men who meet their destiny should be admired. Meet who try to run from it should be dismissed. I hope to visit the battlefield again.

Keep your money, the narrators voice is beyond annoying and as I watched earlier episodes I was very impressed with your narration
Enjoying the series, and the voice actors were okay, but to tell you the truth I think it would be just as good if you did it yourself, that would provide kind of a single voice to tie it all together. Maybe if you read bits of first-hand accounts or quotes you could use another voice to differentiate. But I think most of us are here for the video and on location observations.

Indeed. I wish I would have just done the narration myself. It is interesting how in the past 12-18 months the quality of AI voices has improved exponentially. I had my voice cloned by AI and my kids can't even tell the difference.

another preposterous part of misinformation from history "he has great vision soldiers falling in upside down THE FACTS ARE he also said the same thing of indians falling upside down.
they had just did the rosebud and powder river they KNEW they were being chased. and in the huge encampment sitting bull knowing what was coming "I will cut strips off my arms and make great predictions" "then run with the women and children" even the indians said "we simply saw him running off with the women and kids to the north" they totally ignored his "do not take items from the soldiers" because Sitting bull was older and knew the great battle that would take place but he KNEW this was an advanced civilization he and Chief John Grass said "dont defile them" that is why after the battle they went south and simply marched left over to the reservations. Crazy horse and Sitting Bull 'sweated it out for a bit"

This was only 11 years after the American civil war. No doubt that the natives had heard of the massive battles that occurred. Only the most irrational among them could believe that they could defeat the US government.

My folks came over and down to Texas from Manchester and Soham down in East Anglia in 1871....so id imagine in the US there were lots of strong Irish English and German accents
You paid money to a 'voice actor' who wound up using an AI voice - something you could have just done yourself for free. I would have been pissed off and demanded my money back if I was you. Imagine ordering a meal from a professional chef. A meal you don't have the ability to prepare yourself. And the chef just delivers you a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, something you could have just thrown together yourself. That's basically what that voice actor did to you. That voice actor ripped you off big time.
Yup, I botched that. It was a good learning experience. Interestingly enough, I have cloned my voice and my kids can't even tell the difference on most occasions.

I noticed your t-shirt. We’re you a Scout or a Tanker? My son was a 19D, Scout Platoon, 1/63 AR, 1st ID, in Vilseck ,Germany, in 95-97. Deployed to Macedonia during Bosnian conflict. His LTC was David Perkins
Awesome. I was an Armor Officer and was in Germany from 89-92. I take it that was the Dave Perkins that led the Thunder Run.
@@MilitaryHistory317 Yes Sir, I have my son’s ABLE SENTRY V11,, SENTINEL for PEACE, from his Macedonia deployment, signed by LTC Perkins, on my wall. My son, very sadly, took his life in 2015. By all accounts from his Scout Brothers, he was top notch. I’m proud to have that certificate and many other mementos from his service. Salutes to you, Sir. Scouts Out!
