My family and some of my friends read but we don’t have the same taste, so sometimes I feel pressured to read more non-fiction or contemporary or less fantasy because I won’t have so many people to talk about it. And tbh this pressure just comes from my own self. I start overthinking about what I think that other people expect from me when literally no one cares. And if they don’t care, why should I? The only way I’ve found to avoid reading slumps is to read what you are excited to read. Yes, that romance book which you won’t look intellectual reading, yes that ya fantasy book. When you read what you think others expect from you, then it is not a hobby anymore, it’s a chore and that’s why we procrastinate and not do it. It’s not fun. I wanna make my reading experience fun. You’ll find interest in new genres and books as you keep reading what you like, there is no pressure to change your reading taste. Read the book that you feel attracted to, instead of the book that everyone has recommended to you :)

I organize my Pinterest boards based on the ✨ vibes ✨ i get from certain books and when i look back on then, it just hits me with the same feelings which i felt while i was reading this. As a person who gets distracted while re-reading, this helps me to go back to books I've already read and love. I can go on an on about this but I'll stop.
Girl ur annotating is so nice! Literally all I do is highlight with a basic yellow highlighter and write Taylor Swift lyrics that remind me of the line in the margins lol.

Sad to say...... this is no joke ! My wife reads for 8 hours at at time..........never leaves the sofa for hours ! No friends.....gets angry when she dont have time to read.......and thats angry all day ! Theres a real world out there.....go take a walk........ask yourself questions about what you see......why things are the way they are. Seen this too many times. People being out of touch with the real world........so sad !
