Old stream I know, I've only recently started watching but just wanted to say that I appreciate you sticking your foot down with people trying to idolise you or play with you.
I know this is a month old but I wanna say I'm enjoying your content alot and I've learned alot while watching you play I used to avoid pvp and get pretty upset when I'd lose but now I've grown indifferent to the loses and learned to enjoy the fight and different goofy tactics to get rid of people
The Sea of Thieves is always an interesting time, filled with highs and lows. I was playing recently and was hunting treasure on an island when I noticed a reaper was nearby. Since I had recently gotten treasure, I hurried to the nearest outpost and sold all that I had. After that, since I knew that I might be in a dangerous situation, I decided that I would go into a tall tail, since I was waiting on a friend and I was trying to pass the time. (Call me chicken if you want, but the last few times I have had a ship chase after me have not been very pleasant at all. Personally, I am glad that this new season is pvp focused. Anyway...) I selected my tall tail and waited for the character to finish the exposition when someone killed me from behind. I did flip out a bit, but I respawned, and the guy shot at me, even while I swam away. It was so bad that I had to sing the parody that I had just come up with: "Yo ho ho and a bottle of ____. I am doing a tall tale, so with ye be gone." He laughed but said no. After that, instead of letting myself spawn in, I decided to leave that server. All this to say, while that was one of my worst experiences on the sea of thieves, the rest of my time went without much of a hitch. I tried to complete the tall tale but soon quit afterwards since it seemed that my friend was not getting on and after that mood-dropping moment, I could hardly handle the fighting level in the tall tale. Needless to say, I was ready to quit by that time.
I can't help but be amazed when people feel like quitting after being attacked. Getting sunk for being stupid on my first voyage sold me on this game. You don't have to leave Tall Talers alone, especially now that checkpoints exist.
@@KopperNeoman You are right that leaving permanently based on this feature is stupid, especially with how many features the game offers. It has treasure hunting, buying-and-selling, sailing, etc. And only after trying all of those can someone truly say that they don't want to play the game anymore at all. However, I would point out that due to the fact that I clearly was not having the best day, I figured it would be best if I quit out and give the game a bit of a rest. (I did try to portray this by framing it in "The Sea of Thieves is always an interesting time, filled with highs and lows." Sorry if that was a bit confusing.) I was maddened by the fact that pirates would attack someone at a trade post while they are doing a tall tale, and I knew that this would only make the games flaws harder for me to handle. That is where I stood when I was making this post. Also, I was wanting to tell a story about my most recent experience on the Sea of Thieves.

Mechanics would entail something alone the line of: Cannon shooting, or broader things such as picking up items (which is reusable and is good game design!) I think the hardest challenge these devs have is adding mechanics / content that can be reused in an efficient manner. It would be very easy to just add a new island with a boss but then what if it's not there, another empty island. So a nice mechanic would be adding a way to reuse all the current islands to spawn X, and then seeing how players react to it (like you said making your own story) which is a dynamic! To level up reaper solo fast go for every reapers chest you see since they give the second highest amount of exp and don't require as much risk as emissary flags, always going to be a risk when attempting to level reapers since it's a pvp faction but going for the reapers chest has less risk then people revenge killing you for sinking them and taking their emissary flag and you can get supplies from the shipwrecks they are in. Barely anyone goes after them aswell, I have sold probably over 50 of them and have had to fight for only about 4. Also sea forts are good for gold hoarders, order of souls, and reapers, but best for gold hoarders.
Alright so. Cliff. I kindly ask you to tell your viewers this information. Because it's insanely usefull and not many people know about this. The metal grate in the middle of your ship. You can bail the water through it. Literally just learned it today.

The only new convenient item I want is a small map. Or a map that’s chained to the rowboats. I get turned around so easily that my cool row boat ideas usually fails or becomes a full blown row boat voyage. Getting better at using my compass more tho.
Since this was talked about so much: I agree, SoT without PVP is not the whoie experience. But Im so tired so PVP and having to get provicient and skilled at something that Im doing in my free time, that Im glad that Safer Seas is around. I already have to git gut at my 9 hour 6 day job. I hate having to "git gut" at a video game.

I want someone who plays seriously but not too much like all my friends blow the boat up on purpose and it sorta gets annoying and they don’t really know how to play the game but I still play with them as they are still my friends

u know u can stop the digging animation if u just pull out ur map again,saves alotta time instead of waiting for the digging animation to finish when u miss the dig spot
I know you didn't ask, but I thought I'd share my first video game. It's a tragic tale, unfortunately. Trigger warning ⚠️ The first video game that was truly MINE was Super Mario Bros 3. Got it for my birthday and loved it since we already had 1 and 2. A few months went by and my dad lent it to a family friends kid so they could play it. The kid was my Carepartner in kindergarten, he was grade 7/8 and was a mentor. Unfortunately, there was a house fire at his place and he didn't make it. And I distinctly remember not understanding what that meant and being an insensitive prick and asked when I could get my game back... 🥺
27:30 I just think of myself as a Merchant sailor trying to get my goods to an outpost... and try to outsail any pirates trying to stop me. but I don't feel as bad getting sunk if I play as merchant vs pirates. I got pirate legend early around launch and then stopped playing for two years. mast damage, fire and blunders, harpoons. I got harpooned off my deck the other day and so he can blunder me close up. These are not mechanics I have learned yet but sailing around my Wholesailer and Holey Saler ships with merch on, I feel ok to try and fight and still lose a lot.
what kinda sucked was that all my friends uninstalled sea of theives and the only person that still has it i cant get in touch with so i stopped playing as i got pretty bored of going solo and getting sank every time i plaued
