Seeing them play this song live with the Kami band intro was crazy.
I also like the fact that they have no socials. We do have the occasional peak behind the curtains but for the most part it's just Su-metal, Moametal, and Momometal. I like it that way, though I think I'm in the very small minority of fans that do.

This is the first song and video they released since revealing Momometal as the official third member - and she even got her own solo section with the Kabuki Theatre part.
The song title translates as 'Metali' (or 'Metari') which is a fusion of the words metal and matsuri (festival). The song is about a Metal Village holding a metal festival, so they have included all the matsuri shouts everybody would be calling out as encouragement to the people carrying heavy floats etc like "Sore, Sore", "Dokoisho" and "Wasshoi!".
They are inviting us all to dance - I am reliably informed there is something in the lyrics (Su sings it and it is in Momometal's kabuki section) about we are all idiots or fools - the idiots who watch and the idiots who dance ... so as we're all here and we're all idiots why just watch, we may as well all dance.
This is what Tom Morello said about this song:
"I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I’ve been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of METALI!! I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!"
adding together the VIP tickets for floor access, merch, and going to the bar...., Babyklok tour in Las Vegas is by far the most I've spent on two bands. But they're two of my favorites so yeah totally worth it. So when you get the chance to see Babymetal next time no excuses. They'll be back in Vegas for the Sick New World festival you should check it out.
The treadmill thing is an urban legend. I've seen it brought up in TH-cam comments a few times, but I've never seen a source for the claim.
It's never been mentioned in interviews with any of the members, or anyone on the BABYMETAL team.

Thanks from Japan 有難う 💛。This song was one in the setlist that was performed in the North American tour (total 29 gigs in Aug. thru Oct.) with Dethklok and kept blasting the audience at every venue. The title is a synthesized word from two words : "Metal" and "Matsuri 祭 (festival)" → Metali. And if you want to know the deep meaning of the lyrics please check Professor Hartley's channel (Andrew Hartley).
I witnessed this song live twice in August : World premiere (live debut) in a special show and Performance at huge festival "Summer Sonic Tokyo". At the actual venues, this song followed after an intro with Western Kamis' cool instrumental solos. Oh My Buddha! 😍 I got hyped like an idiot in the simplicity of this song. Momometal's extravagant elocution and moves in Kabuki style (and her growl in live show) gave an amazing accent in the exciting repetitiveness. The repetitive わっしょい "Wasshoi" is a call or yell used in Japanese Matsuri (festival). It is a kind of phrase to intensify people's excitement and especially to encourage the power of guys who are carrying a heavy Mikoshi on their shoulder that is a kind of a float in Western style festivals.
[FYI : In the festival, BABYMETAL was a closing act after 8 artists. Evanescence performed right before them. I was moved to tears by Amy Lee's "Bring Me To Life".]

Dang girl! You took your time to watch this new BM song right after they finished the Babyklok Tour in the US, I'm sad for you couldn't go to the concert but hopefully they will come back and get the chance once again to see them live and rocking out like they did with all the fans with this song and the entire setlist.
The song title is Metali!! (metal + matsuri, which is a Japanese festival) and you can hear it in the spoken section when MomoMetal is doing the Kabuki moves style.
Just so you know "wasshoi" is another shout used in Japanese festival when men are carrying the shrine, similar to sore and soya in Megitsune and Karate. The traditional Japanese instrument you can hear in the beginning is a shamizen, also used in Megitsune.
I can totally see why they pick Tom Morello on this, the groove, the catchiness, the super energetic jump and those typical 90's vibes at funk or alternative metal live concerts.

You're not wrong about crowd participation - they played this on the North American tour and I saw it in Toronto - the crowd fell apart singing along with this, plus there was a section in the middle where Su had the crowd crouch down during Momoko's "spoken word" section then jump up when the Tom Morello solo came on. It was incredible to be part of.

I'm sorry you missed the girls, but in 2024 they probably will return with another tour in US, they were already confirmed in Sick New World Festival (april 24, in Las Vegas) so I really doubt they would come back for only 1 show (even if is in a big festival like Sick New World).
You are right, this song is for crowd participation, during the Kabuki part (the part where Momometal speaks in the middle of the song) the girls makes you sit on the ground for you to "listen the narration/history", you need to scream "wasshoi" when you are supposed to and, of course (as always with BABYMETAL) have fun with the others around you!

The hotel i booked for my stay is part of the company I work for, and even with my discount
I am paying £305 for 3 nights, but it's only 0.6 of a mile from the venue and near the after-party location . I paid only £42 for the 1st BabyMetal show at Brixton. Most I paid was £62 for Wembley Arena show and £ 56 at the Apollo. So, for the price for a seat way back for what my friend paid for Beyonce ticket, I get to see BabyMetal 5 times 😁 know who I prefer to see 😉 sorry for long comment once i got started i could not stop 🤣 🤘🏼🦊

By the way, it is now Monday midnight in Japan, 1am Tuesday. Actually, I went to the live bar, Club Junk Box in Nagano City to see the live of NINGEN ISU and came back to my house a while ago. Today I finished work an hour early and drove my car for two hours on the highway to Nagano City. But it was worth it. It was great because for 5,000 yen, I saw their performance (18 songs) at a distance of 10 meters. I did headbanging hard, so tired but good feeling, haha. I will go to bed.🤚

Too bad you couldn’t see the in NY. I saw them in Houston and the crowd went nuts when they played this song with a little Kami band west intro. The kabuki part in the middle (the little Momometal solo) felt a bit strange at first but it totally fits the theme of the song, so I get it. In their live shows Momo even adds a little scream in harsh vocals “Are you ready” (backtracked, but still, you know). ❤🤘🦊🔥
