You mistakely statedthat the Hot Spot moves! The Hot Spot stays in the SAME SPOT and the tetonic plate moves over it, creating the chain of islands!

Hawaii wasn’t one giant island. The plate moves and the hot spot stays in the same place creating the next island. As the plate moves the islands sink back into the ocean
