Possibly the worst Liverpool team of all time they were horrific that season, lost to Bolton in the 3rd round of the FA Cup,11th in the league by January 93,knocked out of the Coca Cola Cup by Palace in December and out of the the European Cup Winners Cup by Xmas 92. The decline of such a great club was gut wrenching in the space of 18 months.
Liverpool's descent was worse than Evertons solely because of 15 years of dominance. 75 to 90 but the parallels between Harvey and Souness was scary. Took over championship winning sides and left them also rans. Awful transfers and cliques amongst the players.
Frankly the board should've sacked souness after the 1991-92 season...finishing 6th was unacceptable even then, and the fact he gave an interview to the sun as well?...even more unacceptable
I'll never forget the way Ian Wright celebrated that goal, it was like seeing your best mate saunter in rocking better clothes, a fresher haircut and a much fitter bird than you. Such a miserable time to be a Liverpool fan
We (Arsenal) weren't such a good side in the 60s, but we used to wipe the floor with liverpool in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 70s and 80s, one time liverpool spent 8 year's in the championship after being relegated, I think it was mid 50s.
David Seaman, Lee Dixon, Nigel Winterburn, Steve Bould, Tony Adams, David Hillier, Ray Palour, Paul Merson, Ian Wright, Kevin Campbell & Anders Limpar.
Players like Molby and Whelan who had been part of such a great side in the late 80's/1990 must have thought to themselves "what the hell has my club done to the team"? Such awful, awful players.
This was when Liverpool under sou-mess's management, had become a very below average team at the start of the premier league era of the early 1990s...Must to my dismay, and every other LFC fan. Man utd and Arsenal were on the rise again... And it would be a long while before we would become a force again in english football..
@@clockendthugnomercytheherd3182 Lol it had nothing to do with the dirty mancs. It was souness. Broke up a great team way too quickly. Liverpool standards fell so dramatically
Merson Wright Adams limpar jensen excellent players seaman aswell. Liverpool had degenerated quite badly in this period, compared to this arsenal team, Man utd, and so on
Can we just appreciate the sheer nonchalance of Wright’s offside chip in the opening moments?
Ray Parlour had an exceptional game that day...he was so under rated
Fact parlour had a bit too much to drink
He admitted he was drunk when playing that game
@Athelstan Edwardson Because of shit manager...
They don't call him the Romford Pele for nothing!
David Hillier is now a fireman down in Bristol. Thanks for service Hillier 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
George Graham teams could turn it on when they wanted.
Lol
The great Ian Wright....LEGEND

Well, here´s hoping Man City will one day experience something similar ☺
@@Icecool1981 Manchester United and Chelsea nearly have this type of downfall. They are not far off.

These were dark days at Liverpool, a bang average team
Lovely lady celebrating 1st goal 0:52
Why did George get rid of Limpar? He would’ve fitted in well in Wenger’s teams
Limpar was ridiculous. The most 2 footed player I ever seen

Arsenal never feared going to Anfield, remember twenty-six years ago, when the league title, for the first time?
Lol Liverpool have smashed Arsenal many times at Anfield. Including beating the invincibles in 2004 also beat them 5-0 in 1964 to win the league
Liverpool never beat us in the Invincible season mate!

should have been 5-0 to arsenal
I thought it boring boring arsenal. If George Graham had been in charge for longer. I don't think Man Utd would have had many titles as they did.
Nope not Arsenal. If Kenny Dalglish had stayed on as Liverpool manager then Liverpool would've continued to dominate
You must be dreaming.
David Seaman, Lee Dixon, Nigel Winterburn, Steve Bould, Tony Adams, David Hillier, Ray Palour, Paul Merson, Ian Wright, Kevin Campbell & Anders Limpar.
If it wasnt for James, we'd have lost by 5
When Arsenal were kings...invincibles!!!
Limpar..Merson..Parlour..Wright plus that back 4. Aces🤗
This was the first match I remember David James playing

Molby was fat an a liability at this time. Smh
Great upload Adrian! Were Liverpool that bad that day??
Liverpool were awful that year!
wrighty described his goal in his book 100% accurately 👍
Could have been 5 great performance that day

Who's here in 2022, the 30th year of the Premier League?
Souness did to Liverpool what Harvey managed at Everton.
David James AKA Calamity.
Sean C d.james he was a very good goal keeper. goal keeping errors are (unlike everyone else on the pitch) easily exposed.
Talking about a recurring nightmare.
