Yes, SpongeBob was indeed watching "adult content" on the TV. Also, That shoe tying song is still one of the catchiest numbers in SpongeBob history. And watching Squidward slowly lose his sanity in "Squid's Day Off" is hilarious.
Actually I think he was watching “girly” or *feminine” stuff because he changed to football as to overcompensate with something that’s generally perceived as very masculine.

The Flying Dutchman is over 5000 years old?? That would mean SpongeBob takes place around the 60th century, and honestly, that’s a fun theory! Animal life is so advanced that sea sponges have evolved to be fry cooks and squirrels can build their own underwater geodesic domes.

two very different episodes
Your Shoe's Untied-the least memorable of the two segments in this episode by far, but still a joy to watch. There are plenty of laughs and cartoonish sight gags, and the song that closes it is fun if a little cheesy.
Squid's Day Off-a much darker, weirder story that is, consequently, far funnier than it's cheery predecessor. There are some pretty grotesque visuals here, but they work as more than shock value or cheap gross out comedy, instead they're successful additions to the entire episode's oddly surreal atmosphere and absurd sense of humor.

I love the loop-de-loop song from the season 2 premiere of Spongebob Squarepants, has to be my favorite moment from the shoe episode 🤣💕🎶

I remember most of season two...for better or for worse (spoilers). Your Shoes Untied got me through a pretty difficult time as a child because I was so used to velcro shoes. OT got me into tying my shoes with "Loop De Loop" to boost my confidence and fine motor skills to be at a point where I can tie shoes no problem!
Might I just say, when you watch Season 2, you’ll notice that there is a slight change in animation. Like, compared to Season 1’s animation that looks all hand drawn, Season 2 actually looks more digital than hand drawn. It’s a big advancement that not a lot of people noticed.
Fun fact: When Patrick said “Maybe it’s the way your dressed”, if you can make Patrick say “Ma” of Maybe so fast, you can hear that sounds a lot like Sans from Undertale.
Funny how in the shoe episode, everyone forgets that SpongeBob tied his shoe in rock bottom

Welcome to Season 2, and this season was off to another great start! I never got the adult joke at the beginning of You're Shoes Untied, but now I get it, and I laugh every time I watch it.

There were 2 previous episodes where SpongeBob tied his shoes with no issue. And also in a previous episode we learned the Krusty Krab is not open on sundays. Continuity is definitely not a thing in this show. 😂
Squidward broke all because he couldn't trust SpongeBob at the cash register 🤣🤣🤣 plus his face was funny🤣. But wat is worse and funny was they had the sign to close instead of open 🤣🤣.
I don’t know if you guys takes requests, but I highly recommend you two watch the SpongeBob Christmas special. Not the older one but the stop motion claymation special. I love your videos and I would love to see you guys react to the special!!!
Again, as I've previously pointed out, after the first season used the traditional ink-and-cell form of hand-drawn animation, the following seasons switch to the newer digital coloring hand-drawn animation.
Yup, I'd say that the SpongeBob that was in Squidward's tub was a hallucination.
Also, in "Something Smells", there is a minor sound error depending on which version you watch. In all current American airings, UK airings, most digital and streaming releases of this episode, SpongeBob walks up to a building and says, "Hi, building!" which causes the building to flee from SpongeBob's breath. He goes up to Patrick and says, "I just don't get it!" and Patrick says, "I don't either." However, on all DVD releases, the Nautical Nonsense and Undersea Antics Volume 1 VHS tapes, the Nick Scene It? DVD game, Canadian airings, Polish airings, Australian airings, and Arab airings (and the version you're seeing), the scene instead has "I just don't get it!" "I don't either." being repeated twice. According to the audio commentary on the season 2 DVD (which I own a copy of), this was a sound mixing error.
Say, why would Pearl call Krabby Patties gross? The Krabby Patty is meant to be an absolute good; no one is immune to its tasty charm. Maybe, at this time, she never actually tasted a Krabby Patty. Later on, we do see her eating a Krabby Patty and liking it.
And it's weird to hear Mr. Krabs call Pearl his "flesh and blood", despite the fact that she's obviously adopted.
Oh yeah, and during "Bossy Boots", we get a little background song performed by the Capsules.
I feel bad for Spongebob in Squid’s Day Off. He just wanted to know if Squidward finished his errands

He has his moments as both kinds of friend
As you know the creator was a marine biologist so there are a lot of trivia facts sprinkled in. Gary wearing shoes has some truth due to slugs and snails actully having a foot. A single foot.

I will walways think of the DVD commentarry track with the "Something Smells.." episode. At the end when SB and Patrick celebrate that they stink, the show creators note that the moral is apparently that it's ok to be stinky but not ok to be ugly. 🤣🤣

I don't want to put more on your plate, but one movie that would be great on your watch list is Big Fat Liar with Paul Giamatti. It's like a combination of Home Alone and The Sting where a teen works to get back at an abusive Hollywood Executive for stealing his homework story to use as a movie. It has the same humor as the best of spongebob as Paul Giamatti's character is such a nutty jerk that it's fun to see him get put through the wringer. Always great to laugh with you two.
“Something Smells” has similar moments to Frozen. Elsa telling Anna to stay away from her, same thing here with SpongeBob telling that to Patrick.
