Once when we were at military museum,the guide has told us simple sentence: "If i and you got a quarrell we would have personal duel, If politicians have a quarrel they fight by using our hands". As for the song this is outstanding and at the same time saddening one.
We slavs are proud to be slavs. Language is one of the things we all share. Big reason is understandability amongst nations, languages are very close compared to rest of the world. Our modern nations on the map are "new" concept compared to rest of the Europe. That's one of the reasons for fighting as not all people have settled their ppl in "right" nations. Which is a shame because all of us are very similar, just politics are dividing us. (Interslavic language); Mir s vami i nami brati moji. Missed by few months, but gew things are wrong AF. The band sings in Serbo-Croatian, doesn't have a single thing with Ukraine or what's happening there. You should give a thorough listen to the 1st album, maybe translate the lyrics, and you'll get an emotional story of WW1 through eyes of Serbian peasant, who passed Albanian mountains, and managed to return to his home. To who? For what? That up to you two to find out! Even great Göethe learned Serbian so he could read the songs in their native language. Best of luck guys!
Amazing band! You should check out their album "Naši Životi Više Ne Postoje". It's an concept album about soldier who survived horrors of World War I, only to find out his home is burnt, his wife dead and his son is missing. Realy amazing and emotional album.
This song is against all wars and it fits perfectly in this time when world is in war with everyone. The melody of the song is in a Slavic rhythm that only us Slavs understand.
