Heyo people! Brief update on the Covid situation: I shot this video a few weeks back, before I caught covid. I'm all better now, and had a productive week of training/recruiting this week. I actually just arrived in Meiringen for the first comp of the season, so now I'm getting psyched and ready!
I feel like those kind of sessions are what make you stronger, maybe not physicaly but mentaly. You just think about it all day to figure out what went wrong and you learn by doing so
I've heard of the 10 session rule: 1 of those is amazing, you outperform yourself 3 are mega shit, you feel week and cannot climb much 6 feel average, you perform decently well. I try to keep this in mind whenever I'm having bad or not-so-great climbing days. You gonna crush it in world cups. P.S. one of the most fun and engaging sponsor video parts I've seen, haha.
The hardest routes that get set in my gym are v10s and there's only one in the gym at a time and we never have more than two v9s either And it's the only gym in my town... not that I could climb v10 anyways
Steady decrease in performance over a couple of weeks is often a sign of overtraining or underfuelling! Particularly after a perceived peak or pb. Take care and let your nervous system recover x
This was super cool. It's neat to hear about the mental game and your struggles with that. You seem to have a good attitude with it. I'm sure you'll make progress if you keep working on it with this vibe.
Anyone know if there is anyway for us to watch the qualifiers? I only see the Semi's & Finals on the IFSC youtube channel... GOOD LUCK EMIL YOURE GONNA KILL IT
should go live in 10 minutes on the youtube channel on "Haslital Mountain Festival" (I'd link it, but it seems youtube deleted my last message with the link in it)
Good job, nice flash training. But it´s quite off on those mini bouldering-routes :D Flash attempts on comp-style boulders are far more different, for reading, visualization, beta solving, etc...
So it was you who was setting in the corner with Björn when I came in on my lunch break to point out where I fell down and hit my head the week before. I should've recognized you and said Hi! Good luck on the competitions, I'll be cheering you on!
I wonder if you need to implement more periodization? I have no experience myself, but if you just try hard constantly you could peak at the wrong time (like 2 months ago) and then be in a rut during competitions. You’re look super strong tho, sick climbing!
Thanks homie :-) I've actually had several finger injuries. Each one is little unique. Biggest lesson: climb as soon as possible even if it's uncomfortable, and lighter than you wish. However that's very generalized, and might not be best for you!
@@EmilAbrahamsson you're welcome dude :) and thank you for the advice, i injured my ring fingers one month ago and i kept climbing and even though it hurts sometimes i felt like it was better than waiting for the pain to go away.
I thought the pink was your first "flash-boulderproblem". So as u start with the easiest to flash, u will begin on grade 8a+. After that the boulderproblems will get harder... So in a nutshell: ur weak, im disapointed :P I thought u are Alex Megos.

Emil: “I’m guessing the moves are going to be relatively easy”

stoked to watch you in upcoming comps!
cordi, great interviewing skills.
Hey Emil i have a plant tip: You should prune your avocado plant, it makes the stem stronger and the plant bushier in the longrun.
I relate to the middle Skill Share Emil on a personal level...
Have you read mastermind by jerry moffat? Feel like there is some great advice in there for comps and stuff!
That intro 👌😂
2:35 that is a random walk right there!! Good luck in the comps man
thanks for your inspiration. Your videos help me (and a lot others probably) to keep training hard during these trying times!

He caught covid I think so... also could be that
Well, he does look like he has cut quite a bit of weight for the comps.
dat intro do. It's true that sometimes I learn the most in the sessions where I feel relatively weak.
Can’t wait to watch the competition vids, rooting for you
Fingers crossed for Meiringen!
glad to see a gym with a more realistic grading system

Very interesting to watch this and you explaining all these things. Mindset and all that :D
Rooting for you Emil!
Best of luck in Meiringen.
Also, they just announced, that our climbing gyms will re-open on Monday.
Let's hope it's with reasonable conditions.

they removed the "going live in x minutes" video :-(
it's finally live
Wish you the best of luck!
I first got into climbing while studying abroad in Vasteras, but I don't think this gym was there then! Looks really nice!
I think they finished it last year, been there once, it’s really nice!
Good job, nice flash training. But it´s quite off on those mini bouldering-routes :D

I already keep my fingers crossed for you Emil. Hopefully I'll spot you in qualis and then see you in semis :) Good luck!
LOVE YOU GOOD LUCK IN MEIRINGEN!!!

Ok, as funny as this is, dope intro. The creativity class worked!
I believe it is the first time that I do not pass the ad part of the video. Good luck on the worldcup.

Are you attending the bouldering World Cup in Utah? In may? :O
If he comes to salt lake and I cant see him compete in person due to covid I'm going to be so sad
Good luck at the world cups!
Emil, when are the world cups you're competing in and where can i watch them?!
I'd be curious what would happen if you brought a big 5min clock with you
Hey Emil, were those shoes Mad Rock Drones? I’ve been thinking of trying those out after my Solutions wear out. What do you think of them?
Hi Emil, how is the Haywire compared to the Drones?
What part of Switzerland are you I, and what's the primary language spoken in Switzerland
do0 you get star struck when meeting other pro climbers?
17th attempt, haha that's crazy :D
gotta love that paid intro :D
Dude, stop stressing about the comp. just have fun. Pretend EKB is on the camera and you’re climbing boulders that Nikken set for you.
