His voice is so innocent and nice I recently watched him in this Dracula film and I just felt sorry for him at the part where his daughters a vampire I just get teary eyed whenever he's confused or scared in that scene he really is one of the greats haha
@@recordcollector0665 In addition to pronouncing things differently, his "Wallace" voice has a different timbre. His normal voice is more deep and full, but when he does Wallace, his voice is a bit higher in pitch and slightly more nasal.
Even when Peter Sallis isn't playing Wallace, his voice is unmistakable. I would watch reruns of a show he was in called Last of the Summer Wine which I watch on a PBS channel I get here in the United States (I'm American before any of you ask), and I recognize Peter Sallis when he plays Cleggy.
Fun fact, Peter Sallis originally voiced Wallace for just £50 and it took Nick Park so long to finish A Grand Day Out, Peter had to be reminded that he'd done it. He really had no idea what he was a part of and just how big it would get.
Well, I remembered him more for last of the summer wine, so he would have been happy for that. What a lovely man, a gentleman to the end. RIP Peter, you will be sorely missed.
Imagining asking an actor who spent 37 years in Last of the Summer Wine if Wallace was his greatest achievment as an actor. Of course he is proud of the Wallace character, but c'mon of course it was going to be Summer Wine.
Peter Sallis always made me laugh when he was on:Last of the summer wine. but, I have to say all of the other cast also made me laugh too, Peter Sallis did a video on the passing of Cathy Staff . Cathy played Nora Batty on last of the summer wine. Sorry I just had to add that to my comment,
LOL Gromit doesn't have a voice, although in the original plans for "A Grand Day Out" Nick Park had the late great Peter Hawkins in mind for the role, before he was working on Gromit when Wallace was sawing through the door and realised that Gromit could do more if he didn't have a voice and emoted through body language and expression.
*What an actor and human being Peter Sallis was!* Listening to his humble, down-to-earth interview here. We just don't make them like that anymore. 😢
RIP Peter Sallis
Leon Walsh I heard it a while ago, and...it'll never be the same!
Yes, he died in June 2017 along with Adam West.
"If I did a genuine Yorkshire accent, no one would know what I was talking about."
You cheeky bugger!
It's amazing how humble Peter Sallis was.
His voice is so innocent and nice I recently watched him in this Dracula film and I just felt sorry for him at the part where his daughters a vampire I just get teary eyed whenever he's confused or scared in that scene he really is one of the greats haha
yeah a good film.
Really weird to hear his real accent. What a sweet, talented guy. And yeah, I applauded the train scene.
God bless him 🧀❤️🌹
cracking.
Not much different from Wallace imo

While I can still hear Wallace in his voice, I think he sounds different when he speaks in his natural accent.
Peter Sallis always made me laugh when he was on:Last of the summer wine.
but, I have to say all of the other cast also made me laugh too,
Peter Sallis did a video on the passing of Cathy Staff .
Cathy played Nora Batty on last of the summer wine.
Sorry I just had to add that to my comment,
Peter Sallis provides the voice of Wallace in the Wallace and Gromit franchise, and in which Ben Whitehead replaces him to voice Wallace.
Lovely man.
Happy 92nd Birthday, Peter Sallis....!!!!!

Who does the voice of Gromit?
LOL Gromit doesn't have a voice, although in the original plans for "A Grand Day Out" Nick Park had the late great Peter Hawkins in mind for the role, before he was working on Gromit when Wallace was sawing through the door and realised that Gromit could do more if he didn't have a voice and emoted through body language and expression.
Yeess. MMMM
What's going to happen when Peter dies...?
Who's going to do the voice of Wallace now?
Sarcastically Deranged
