This song makes me think about my 27 year old daughter whom I haven't seen or spoken to since she was 21. She has a twin who has stayed in close contact with me throughout the years. I was a stay at home mom & the 3 of us were always so close to one another. They never went through the teenage years of "I'm so embarrassed to be out with my mom." So, I thought we'd all 3 remain close. I honestly have no idea why she suddenly decided she didn't want to have anything to do with me. Six years have passed & I still haven't a clue what made her stop talking to me. If I only knew why, I think it would ease my pain. Not knowing kills my heart. Especially when I listen to this song. She has me blocked on all her social media platforms. No ability to text her, call her, or even email her because she has me blocked on everything. She only lives 20 minutes away from me...I don't know exactly where she lives nor do I know anything about her life. Is she ok, is she still single, where is she working, how are things going...ok or not ok. Time is passing by fast, I'm pushing 60 & we never know when it'll be our last day to live. It just kills me to think of never seeing her or speaking to her again for the rest of my years. 😢
This song is a love letter to our childhoods. We’ve all lost someone or something in life that made life feel easier and simpler. Growing up with Toy Story during the times before social media was the best time to be a kid. I would give anything to go back and relive those days. Thank you Randy Newman for making our childhoods so much better!

But these days I reviewed toy story 2 and I realized that the music is really very emotional and to be honest, a tear came out of my eyes when I heard the music again
Believe it or not, I was crying while watching this as it made me think of my grandma who passed and because of a stroke she had, she was slowly losing her memory and at one point or another, she forgot about me while I took care of her just like she took care of me when I was younger. When she passed, I just broke down whenever I heard this song and I never really got over it but at least I know she’s watching over me and smiling down towards me and how much Ive grown as a young gay man who is gonna be a woman someday.
This and shallow or the two best Oscar performances ever. And the amazing thing is is this from a child's toy perspective. It's interesting that Randy Newman provoked the feelings and heartbreak of something that you don't think have feelings and can experience heartbreak it is very pointed beautiful and heartbreaking and Sarah McLachlan does a beautiful job invoking the voice of Jessie

Something to look forward to on a Monday. I work in medicine and it had been a rough day. I was alone eating my teriyaki on the coffee table in front of the TV. I hadn't seen either "Toy Story" movie. When I saw this with just Randy, a cellist, and Sarah, this exquisite jewel of a love song about a heartbroken discarded toy, that had to have such a precise feel, that combined a love song and a lullaby, I jumped up , applauded, and called "bravo" ......again alone. Absolutely enchanting, heartbreaking. I was furious when he didn't win. It is harder to write a song deceptively simple that has to convey so many complex emotions. A masterpiece.
This deserves more than 10M views. Perfect vocals and tone flow. I can feel the emotion she puts into her music flowing through my veins. She is one of the best singers of all time!! 🤩🤩
