This song, as others have stated, is originally Scottish, meaning to remember the old days, old friends, with love and kindness. I was taught that we sing it at the New Year lest we forget what is and has been important in our lives. This rendition is glorious, it’s always a treat when Adam sings also! The song you referred to is by Dan Fogelburg and is another song entirely, but really worth a listen also, beautiful and sad.

I was going to say this, so I'm glad you mentioned it. I loved that song by Dan Fogelberg.

@@tinah8833 it’s one of my favorites, I love Dan Fogelburg. Another great one of his is ‘Leader of the Band’. It brings me wonderful memories of my own father. Nice to meet another fan!

Anytime we get Adam Rupp (beat boxer) contributing to the harmonies..you get next level mix..

Auld Lang Syne is Scottish. Literally, "old long since," referring to old times. Nice reaction.

I think you've been rather misled. The song in itself is simply an appeal to remember old times with kindness, not just between two people, but is used throughout the English-speaking world as a New Year ritual at parties and other gatherings. Everyone stands in a circle holding hands (hence "here's a hand my trusty friend") and sings the song together. It's a lovely experience, and I'm a bit surprised you haven't come across it.
This is a fabulous version, with Austin and Chance's ability to touch the heart and Rob's uniquely kind voice coming to the fore.

So stunning! It’s Scottish (maybe written by Robert Burns in the 1700’s). Famous for New Years Eve when you look back at friends/family (especially if they passed away) or times past. It’s wistful and beautiful. Home Free harmonies kill it! Good reaction Nick. Hope you had wonderful holidays too! 🥰😍😄

Just so you know, the song you looked up was the wrong one. That was a Dan Fogelburg song called “Same Old Auld Lang Syne”. It’s also an amazing song if you want to check it out! This is the traditional (Originality in Scottish, but partly translated into English) song. It’s basically about remembering the good old days and people you’ve known and lost and drinking in remembrance of them. Remembering the old, while looking forward to the new.

I love that all five of them sang in this song…Adam Rupp didn’t have a solo. Too bad he also has a great voice…Harmonies don’t get any better than this!! Can’t wait to see the signs they’ll produce in 2024! Happy new year

As a Scot 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Auld Lang Syne is in my bones. This version is one of my absolute favourites! My only criticism is the pronunciation of Syne…..it’s pronounced with an “s” & not a “z” (that’s me just nitpicking slightly) as always I love your reactions, this one is a heart stirring rendition & I love to see people’s reaction to it! Happy New Year Nick 🎉

I grew up hearing this played every New Year's Eve by Guy Lombardo and his Royal Canadians and just love this song. Their singing & harmonies are always fantastic and having all 5 of them singing it is just terrific. Thanks for playing this & belated Happy New Year!

Thought it was "ye olde English," but, alas. it's not. It is old Scottish, as in 18th century Scott. It literally translates to "old long since." Technically it means, "times gone by." However, don't know how you would have missed this, as it is sung in America Every New Year's Eve/Day.

How wonderful does this sound? This is how Home Free shows how talented they are. Every lead is great. It's a shame that Adam Rupp doesn't have a lead, even though he has such a good voice. Well, I think you can hear him well as a second tenor when Austin has the lead? But that harmony is so amazing, rich and strong.

The song you accidentally looked up is "Same Auld Lang Syne" by Dan Fogelberg, about his chance meeting of an old girlfriend. Touching song on its own, but different from the classic song.

A loose translation of "for auld lang sine" is for days long past. It is a way of saying to memories of "long ago" days long forgotten.

New Year Celebration SONG .... in any language THIS TITLE is simply Remember the past, look to the future and have kindness in recollection of our shared times ! Just sounds BETTER IF YOUR SINGERS ARE FIVE PHENOMENAL SINGERS that blend like this !!! You stated the middle vocal chorale voices of Rob, Adam Rupp (beat boxer otherwise) Adam Chance .... but, left out Tim & Austin the Low and high in this ensemble. GBjj
