Setting up something similar atm, instead of consultation calls I’m doing video as I’m not great at talking to people live and don’t want to schedule my day around calls. People submit a video up to 5 minutes asking questions and talking about their issues and I reply with one answering

My niche is typically one where viewers expect a lot of stuff should be “free”… so I have expectations that not many will pay for consulting. But I could be wrong

One-to-one consultations/video calls are something I've been thinking about for a while now for my business. Thanks for this, I felt it was more complicated to set up!
I do this. Charge $100 an hour and already have a digital program for them to upsell on the call which they buy after. Meaning I get paid for the consultation and for the sale of my program.

Can you provide insight on what is a reasonable range one might expect from conversion rates of offering this kind of consultation for a reasonable rate ($100 - $300 an hour)? I know it may vary quite a bit, but just a rough guideline. Is over 1% possible? .1% to 1%? Less than .1%?

You can't link away from shorts now so its tough, if you make long form theres an on TH-cam funnel you can build but without im not really sure right now

I talk to Christians, where I know that books or courses inform and thus help, but I'm unsure how to think of the call.

IT might be the case this isn't the right fit. A lot of what I talk about on this channel helps some creators more than others
@@creator-booth I get a lot of feedback that my insights are helpful. I'm not sure how to translate that into a service, as some things are practical, and some are informative.
It was interesting when you described how some people actually quit TH-cam.
As you observed, you attracted the wrong people, and so, them quitting didn't say much about your advice (which you know works from your experience).
As a rule, do you think that it's best to set it up and let the viewer choose if they want to talk, or should I have an idea beforehand so that I know what's my "offer"?

There was someone in another comment saying that instead of a call, they'll receive questions from paying clients and address them in a video response (private or public, not specified).
So you could let your paying client tell you their specific problems, to which you'll then share your insights, both practical and informative, in a custom video.
This should also give you time to prep and customize every response, instead of answering in the moment during a call.
Just a thought. ☺️
