- Remember the Southport Pleasureland Cyclone in the UK? It lives on in India! This "Cyclone" roller coaster is an exact clone of the ride that was demolished in England.

i drew up the initial plans for this ride as i was in charge of the maintenance of the cyclone for nearly twenty years.worked with two indian guys for a couple of weeks showing them how to build and maintain the structure/track.they brought me a bag of indian tea as thank you!.would love to visit this sometime!

i Was in charge of the maintenance of the original cyclone and worked with the two Indians that came over,I drew up the first rough plans that were then sent to my bosses at Blackpool who then put it through autocad.was supposed to have gone and supervised the construction but was building another coaster at the time.looks very good and close to the original,collars are a different dimension and original track was thick on the outside of the bends but a very good job,love it!!
Memories. I rode this coaster more than a decade ago when I was a kid.
Rob - you've absolutely made my day. I grew up in Blackpool and although The Pleash is my home park - it was only an hours drive to Southport.minwas gutted when they demolished the Cyclone. How bizarre that a clone should appear in India (though it lacks the twisted lift hill ).

Why would you ever clone Cyclone from Southport?!?!?! I'd say it's not an "exact" clone since it doesn't have the crooked lift hill!
And the average speed is above 15 mph..😁

O wow that's awesome! I loved Cyclone in Southport (10 miles away from me now :D!) and it was one of my first rollercoasters! Glad to see some of it living on!

I went on this in Southport way back in 2005 and it was a classic.
When i went to india kolkata it seems like it is scary but infront of american,and europian rides these are the smallest version,I live in america.

I've been on this coaster for two times, and only in this coaster!! I've seen some crazy Roller Coaster, but, something about this one just scares me man!! And you can tell, its not the most intense one at all!!
Rode it today.I have not tried the UK one though.But my experience with it was not that good.I would highly recommend management to improve the safety measures of the riders."IT DOES NOT FEEL SAFE from any point of view".The ride with jaw dropping speed on 90 Degree "L or V " shaped WOODEN structure is not safe and customer experience for most of the family guys and children are " We will never try this again".Overall NICCO PARK is a back dated amusement park.People coming to Calcutta and the locals deserve better and safer rides.

A Smaller Version Of Cyclone
I love how in Countries such as India and Germany/UK areas you can get on Roller Coasters while it's raining/snowing. I wish they allowed that here in the US :-/ I would love to go on something while it's steady raining. Most rides get shut down when it rains at my local Six Flags :(

@@Tanmay_Bhattacharya it's open dada(Nicco Park) , went there in May but Cyclone was shut due to maintenance.
Rode it this republic Day 26/01/2021..was very thrilling.
Are you guys coming to the UK when all the theme parks open in March/April? Although granted, we don't do rides as well as the US lol.

Yeah, I've been to Alton Towers! It's pretty good,just like Thorpe Park. I'm just saying that our rides in the UK are equally as good. :)

Looks like a tamer, slightly abbreviated version of the Phoenix at Knoebels. It's also a lesson on how to build a woodie economically although time will tell if that type of structure, usually associated with Jet Stars, Wildcats and Fitzers can stand up to the added strain of the heavier, multiple cars needed for wooden coasters.
Cyclone + Fireplace = Heating all year
Not 100% the same, ie the lift hill was like a banana, and the turn after the first drop, you could get out and walk faster!!. Thanks.. It is the cyclone!!

This is the only coaster in India that is actually airtime focused... and it's a knockoff
I rode the original just before it was demolished, it was a pretty good ride
All it lacks is the original's crooked lift hill.

I went there a week ago, this ride's fun but there aint no enough safety gear. You're provided a handle to hold and that's all. While riding you feel like you'll blow away with the wind if you don't hold the handle hard. And yes, do try Sky diver that's AWESOME

Not exactly, it has not as much low drops as after the turnaround and it doesn't drop and come back up into the station. Lies
Leah Partington wrong. it isn't the same layout as the antelope. it doesn't have a double down or the straight section before the brakes
