Strutmasters Top Fuel Teardown From The 52nd Annual Gator Nationals NHRA Event

Watch a Top Fuel dragster in action and the precision engine tear down afterwards in this video brought to you by Strutmasters.com. The Davis Racing Team allowed us access to Top Fuel rising star Justin Ashley as he and his team prepared for Round Three of the 2021 Gator Nationals.
NHRA Top Fuel teams have a very limited amount of time between runs to tear down their 11,000-horsepower, nitromethane-fueled engines and inspect them for damage or potential problems.
New York native Ashley, the sport’s 2020 Rookie of the Year award winner, qualified 12th among 18 contestants with a run of 3.733 seconds at 324.05 miles an hour at Gainesville Raceway in Florida. Breaking in new crew chief Mike Green, the team helped Ashley knock out heavyweights Brittany Force and Doug Kalitta in the first two rounds.
A mechanical failure prevented Ashley from making a pass in a third-round match-up with rookie Josh Hart - the eventual Top Fuel winner over Shawn Langdon.
“I believe we had a much better car than we qualified,” said Ashley. “I hate we didn’t get to race Josh Hart there for a chance to go to the finals. But I am really proud of our Strutmasters.com team and want to wish congratulations to Josh and his team. It just goes to show the Top Fuel class is going be unbelievably tough all season.”
