Thank you--I really appreciate the positive feedback. When one puts something on TH-cam one never knows what kind of comments will result! :) Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the kind words--I appreciate it. It's amazing the range of opinions these videos elicit. It's a good thing I have thick skin! Of course, when it comes to negative comments I receive I always think of the wise words of a mentor of mine, "Remember, it's not what's wrong with you, it's what's wrong with them!" Thanks for watching!
@@christhedrummerkimball I never leave any Un-asked for criticism for anyone. I’ll ask for it for myself but it isn’t very helpful if the criticism doesn’t come with a suggestion lol. It’s a tough thing we do, putting ourselves out there for the world. Keep up the great work and all the best!
Woohoo! Great job, Chris! Also with your drum chart! 👏😀 The mighty Rush have been one of my favourite bands since '89, and it was a very sad day when I heard the news of Neil Peart's passing (I cried). I had always thought of 'Limelight' as one of their more straightforward songs - I'm not so sure anymore now, after watching your video! 😄
Thanks for watching--I'm glad you enjoyed it. I know what you mean about feeling sad when Neal died. My friend Alan White just passed away as well. Very sad.
Excellent job! 👍 I love Rush so the music is already in my head and you did great, better than me. I like your bass drum work, those little things that people hardly notice on the radio.
you should be the next rush drummer!!!! i know how it feels to do amazing on a song then fail at the last part im a guitarist and a bassist and a drummer. good job though
Thanks for the positive feedback! It really is weird, I don't know if he was using a click track so he could just do whatever he wanted knowing he would always know where the beat was,, or if he just was able to keep things in his head. Or, he might have been playing along with the other musicians, which would have the same effect as playing to a click track. Thank you for watching, I appreciate it!
@@christhedrummerkimball you know, I've actually wondered the same things! I've even gone through and watched the original video for the studio track to see if there was anything visually that could have helped. I'm so dated. Take care brother, love the videos!
@@christhedrummerkimball Red Barchetta was recorded in a single take, suggesting they may have recorded other tracks "live", then again we're talking about Neil here, he was a human metronome! Fine job on this btw, nicely done!
The copper-plated one is a Sonor HiLite Exclusive (but the roto-toms and octobans are not Sonor--I plated them to match the Sonors), and the White set is a North drum kit from the '70s. Thanks for watching!
Sounds great ! ! !

What a great channel! Chris, you're very personable.
I appreciate that! And thanks for watching.
Your drum set makes me drool every time I see it. And the sounds! Good lord...! So incredibly cool!

Outstanding! Great job, man!

You never told me you were a rush fan! Incredible.
You should do more drum covers like this!
Thanks--I might do that!

Thank you! Thanks for watching, too. I have a lot of respect for musicians who play multiple instruments, best of luck to you!
@@christhedrummerkimball - ... oh by the way: I too play drums, bass and guitar, and also some 3-finger keyboard! 😁 😉
That one section you spoke about with the timing has always gotten me too. You do an excellent job however.

Just buy an entertainers license, like what bar n club owners do so no infringement.
I wonder how much one of those cost--that would be an interesting approach!
@@christhedrummerkimball it depends on the state but it's not that much
@@donjohnson9063 I looked it up on Google, and the prices I saw were $1,000 to $7,000 per year, but I don't know if that was just for venues.
@@christhedrummerkimball there certain ones like for dj's
@@donjohnson9063 I think audio only is treated differently from video plus audio, but I will check it out. Thank you for the suggestion!
