Happy Gilmore is my favorite movie of Adam Sandler's career as far as comedy goes. Punch Drunk Love is a pretty interesting movie of his that gives you Adam Sandler in a Paul Thomas Anderson movie. Its worth a watch if not a reaction.
Those bleeps during Sandler's freakout are not cause of a rated movie. It's from the perspective of someone watching the PGA tour on tv so they are bleeping his curse words. This movie is GOAT status among comedies.
Regarding this movie getting bad reviews and being underrated, a lot of people write Sandler off as making really stupid and immature comedies. And sometimes he does. But honestly this isn't dumb. This is borderline surreal comedy. The least likely and most crazy thing you can imagine is exactly what happens. And Sandler is a New Yorker through and through. 😁
Heh, I came to the comments as soon as he said “random dude”. 😂 I guess as time goes by, fewer non-golf fans are gonna recognize the greats from back in the day. 🤷🏻♂️

Wasn't aware this movie even had bad reviews, but i can say AT THE TIME everyone loved this movie...even my parents bought a copy! Still a favorite and a classic
I think part of the hilarity level/👍 is generational thing. When this came out, Tiger, VJ Singh, Phil Mickelson were stars, and PGA/NHL were both big on TV. It's a classic.
The Odysee hockey stick putter remains my favorite 'product placement' in a movie. Odysee is a real putter brand, and they're best known for having odd shapes/designs to their putters. Pure brilliance to have them slap their logo in this.
This kind of attitude gilmore had was common where I grew up in the 90's. Ripping on each other, getting into fights sometimes, then hanging out with the same person later on. Now you look at someone the wrong way and you might be sued.
Happy Gilmore was literally my favorite movie as a small child, my mom was forced to watch that movie at least 200 times or more. Tuesday's Gone opening on guitar lives in my mind and instantly just brings me back to that, and going back to it as an adult and someone getting into filmmaking it's wild how much I actually still appreciate it. Somewhat similar in that there’s a lovable guy (Stifler!) doing extremely violent hockey things, but if you like hockey like was said and comedy, absolutely “Goon” is the movie to check out

I think that my generation was just more comfortable accepting and showing it openly. Nuthin secretly wrong with ya, my man, you just getting in touch with yer inner idiot; we all got one! :D
Happy’s old boss with the nail in his head is played by the late Richard Kiel, best known for playing the gigantic henchman “Jaws” in two 70’s James Bond movies.

I honestly can't tell you how many times I've seen this movie. Love it. There is a cut version where happy throws ben stiller down some stairs at the end. Saw it once but never again.
This is my favorite Adam Sandler comedy. Glad you enjoyed it as well. edit: the guy who said Grizzy Adams did have a beard is a professional golfer, Lee Trevino. Given how uptight people considered golf, to see a pro in a movie like this was pretty wild.
That "Random Person" at 22:08 that you were talking about is Real Life Golf Pro Lee Buck Trevino. An American retired professional golfer who is regarded as one of the greatest players in golf history. He was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1981. Trevino won six major championships and 29 PGA Tour events over the course of his career.
I need to see you do a Grandmas Boy reaction. Another Happy Madison production that stars Allen Covert as a video game tester, hilarious quotes and fun movie.
Glad to see you enjoying this movie! When this came out and for awhile after, Everyone just absolutely loved this movie! I’ve only heard of people not liking this movie within the past 5 years or so. Very glad you enjoyed it!
I love this movie, when you described it as chaotic fun that's it exactly. It's a movie you can put on for a laugh and you don't need to analyze or think to hard about.
That random guy always shaking his head and putting Shooter in his place was a legit pro golfer for years, Lee Trevino. Such a great sense of humor to get in on this movie.
This movie is full of quotes I use ALL the time, lol Pretty much anytime someone is hit with anything..... "You hit that guy!" "He shouldn't have been standing there!"
4:09 That V on the time clock stands for "Voodoo" as in the 'Vancouver Voodoo' who were a ball hockey team in a league that was short lived back in the day. They used roller blades and concrete instead of ice and skates to play on.
Maaaaaan, this, Wedding Singer and Billy Madison are such a comedic trifecta. Wedding Singer is so good that Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore have made two more RomComs together (50 First Dates and Blended) over the years. Their chemistry is just unparalleled
Growing up, Happy Gilmore was at the top of the list as far as comedy goes. I was born 1988 and I watched this the year it hit video. Holy crap, I laughed SO HARD throughout then and even more as I grew older and could better understand the scenes/comedy involved. Great reaction! :)
One of my favorite comedies of all time and may be the movie I’ve rewatched the most in my life lol.. the whole thing is just hilarious and feel good and so many classic one liners

An American retired professional golfer who is regarded as one of the greatest players in golf history. He was inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1981. Trevino won six major championships and 29 PGA Tour events over the course of his career.
Shooter McGavin is such an incredible villain, love it! One of my favorite Sandler films!
I need to see you do a Grandmas Boy reaction. Another Happy Madison production that stars Allen Covert as a video game tester, hilarious quotes and fun movie.
This movie came out my senior year. The scene with Bob Barker nearly killed me, I couldn't breathe!
Thanks for bringing us back manw
That random guy always shaking his head and putting Shooter in his place was a legit pro golfer for years, Lee Trevino. Such a great sense of humor to get in on this movie.
That smash cut to Happy Gilmore throwing the IRS guy through the glass never fails to make me die laughing LOL
This movie is full of quotes I use ALL the time, lol Pretty much anytime someone is hit with anything.....
"You hit that guy!"
"He shouldn't have been standing there!"
4:09 That V on the time clock stands for "Voodoo" as in the 'Vancouver Voodoo' who were a ball hockey team in a league that was short lived back in the day. They used roller blades and concrete instead of ice and skates to play on.
I've probably seen this film at least 20 times. Stoked you liked it this much. It's silly and just funny.
James, love you, and this is Adam's best film.
Love this film 😂😂😂 made my day much better James💯💯
Happy to hear Cory, hope you enjoy the rest of it!
The random person who didn't catch Chubbs and said "Grizzly Adams DID have a beard." was Lee Trevino, a famous golfer more from the 80's. Had one of the best NES games though, Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf.
The random guy that keeps popping up (“Grizzly Adams did have a beard”) is Lee Travino, one of the great golfers. Great sense of humor, too!
You would recognize that big guy as Jaws in James Bond's, 'Moonraker'
One of my FAVORITE LINES in all of cinema
"Well moron, good for Happy Gilmo-oh my god!"
LMFAO The "Random person" around 22 minutes is LEE TRAVINO golf legend from the 1970s and '80s and one of the funniest guys ever in pro golf.
