CITV, Home & Away and then neighbours was my daily after school television intake. Miss those days
i miss Jim'll fix it
I loved the golden years of neighbours, in the 80s me n my brothers were glued to it everyday, in school holidays we would watch it twice. If we had been on holiday and Videotaped it, we loved binge watching the episodes we'd missed when we got home.
I'm glad it kept the kids busy, as it gave me time to sneak upstairs with your mum.
Time flies
I used to look forward to watching it after coming back from school too
I haven’t watched Neighbours for 20 years. But I still remember Helen Daniel’s, Lou Carpenter, Madge and Harold Bishop
The peak years were definitely from 1987 to 1998, everything else after was just a blur.
It was a great finale ...everyone did a great job...especially Guy Pearce ..such a good sport to come back and do that whole finale
Didn't he ever he got more screen-time than any other character including the last drama scene before the real celebrations began.
Sad to hear it ending, I use to watch it back in UK too, but everything had a end. It will go down in history.

Finally it's here
Much love from Kenya you captured most of our youth we are forever grateful...Asanteni sana
My mum would have this on everyday. It was actually a big part of my childhood. I saw this more than I saw corrie or eastemders. Kinda sad, because it gives me childhood memories
will be missed grew up watching this with my ma
OMG Ian Smith still has the same look when i watched him on 99
What a blast from the past! I'm another would be coming back from school to watch it before doing my homework. I've not seen it in years. Looks like a nice finale too instead of daft disasters. Definitely the end of an era 😊
The finale was great. A great send off and lovely to see our favourite characters come back and say goodbye. Fantastic. ⭐️⭐️
@@greenkitty82my mum watched neighbours when it first came out. I prefer prisoner cell block H
I remember walking home from work at lunchtime to watch it, And being late back! It was fascinating to see our cousins so far away but so very similar to us in the UK. Always wanted to go to Australia but haven't made it yet 😕🇬🇧🇦🇺
RIP Neighbours 1985-2022 :,(
Neighbours has been a part of my life from the very first episode, l am so sad, but every single person who made what is for me the best series are so talented, l wish all of them the very best for their fututres. Thank you so much for making my days brighter!!
@Gavin Gas Sorry you feel that way, if l don't like something l switch channels.
never heared about it atall, but respect for a 37 years run!
Grew up with neighbors. Really miss this show. Huge Kiwi Fan.
Neighbours in the 80's was my must watch after school tv🥰
Hahaaa
Remember watching it when it started in the mid 80's
Used to watch it in the late 80s and early 90s in South Africa then they stopped showing it sadly
Saw Prince William in an interview talking about how much Neighbours he used to watch while at university.
So glad they used the old 80's theme at the end....
I'll miss neighbours,I'll probably cry.
The title of the video makes it sound like the finale was FILMED 37 years ago and was only now released to the public...
Fresh, and nostalgic all together.
It was good to see so many old faces again
It’s sad to know that Neighbours is ending, I used to love watching Neighbours however around the mid 2010s (I think) was when I stopped watching Neighbours because they’re bringing in to many characters at the same time and quickly kicking (or killing them off) off those same characters shortly after they arrived on show. It was very difficult to related to these characters, storylines for me became too bizarre and unrealistic it was hard to related to anything they were showing anymore. It was now full of a lot of WTF moments instead of trying to tell a good storylines. I also hated it when they changed casting of former characters and replaced them with dull actors in the roles. I don’t know if many people felt that way about Neighbours too and stoped watching it during that time period, but if the show got cancelled for those reasons I wouldn’t be surprised.
I remember watching the very first episode seeing kylie Jason an Stefan and was hooked unfortunately I've not watched it in many years now but I still think it's very sad that it's going it was a staple of weekday afternoons viewing for a good part of my life and reminds me of happier times
Kylie and Jason only came into it 8 months after it started.
Watched the show in my youthful years way back in Kenya.
Upset
Best soap on TV, will miss it.
“Neighbours everybody needs good neighbours,
With a little understanding
you can find the perfect blend.
Neighbours should be there for one another,
That’s when good neighbours
become good friends.”
Tell that to the Brexiteers.😳
Sooooo Sad!
Good Neighbors. I was just looking for this the other day. I use to watch this on BBC back in the 80s. Thought it was a comedy not a soap.
That's a different show! 😁Do you mean the Good Life?
@@marygillmeister6013 I just checked... You are correct. No wonder I couldn't find it .
Pretty much every Australian actor who made it in Hollywood came from either Neighbours or Home and Away. It's a shame for actors in Australia that they will have fewer opportunities now.
There are so many more Aussie shows now because of streaming services like Stan. No shortage of opportunities.
I saw the last episode of Neighbours. It was good!
Finished, thanks for sharing
I am proudly one of the few in Australia who never watched an episode.
Why didn’t the BBC refund neighbours again, after channel 5 bosses decided they would no longer fund it. It’s a great soap with over 1 million viewers in the U.K. alone. A missed opportunity on the BBC’s part.
I’m surprised a streaming service didn’t at least pick it up.
Neighbours is a product of its time, which is the 1980s and 1990s. Culture has moved on (not necessarily a good thing, in my opinion) and things like televised soap operas are getting left behind, with a much more diverse array of entertainment options available and TV being less of a unifying force today as it was in the past. A few decades ago, entire families would crowd round the TV set to follow the latest instalment of their favourite soap opera in order to track the development of a story arc that had kept them on the edge of their seats. A major soap opera plot point (such as Den asking Angie for a divorce in Eastenders' Christmas special one year) would make the national news. Times have changed, people have moved on, and therefore this means that soap operas cannot be as profitable as they had been in the past. If it has over 1 million viewers in the UK (it's main market, because hardly anyone in Australia watches it), then that doesn't compare too well to the 20 million who used to watch it in the late 80s.
@@micgooflander95 When you say neighbours use to have ratings of 20 million in its heyday, that was not all the time, and only on occasions, like, when Scott and Charlene got married. That’s a fact! It’s still as successful as it ever was, despite all the extra crap channels we see nowadays on television. More choice doesn’t mean better quality, just remember that. But I agree, families, and friends no longer watch soaps in the same way as they did before, but many still do, it’s just the mainstream media doesn’t give it as much coverage because there’s so much choice out there. Personally, I think it was political why neighbours was cancelled, due to the woke culture inflicted on our societies, and political correctness by not having enough diversity in neighbours. Say it like it is, because that was the truth, and in the end a lot of these media types, like channel 5 are as woke as they come. One day it will change though because the tide is changing and people are getting fed up with this sh*t.
RIP
Face it the show died in the early 90's when all the good characters left
Neighbours, See you at the Crossroads where you won't be lonely, until we meet again 😢🫂🙏🕊
Kylie, Jason Donovan, Guy Pierce, Natalie Imbruglia, Holly Vallence... who else became big?
Margot Robbie

Directed in the style of Acorn Antiques. Absolutely hilarious direction.
Ya mean it was still going? 😨
One of the show's actors had an unlisted phone number and one of the British tabloids irresponsibly published it, so he'd receive phone calls from British fans, mostly around the time the show aired in Britain, which was the middle of the night Australian time!
Is there a way to catch up with old episodes?
Plenty on TH-cam I think.
Kylie was probably the biggest star that came out of this
I can see it coming back in a few months, although with a smaller budget, more like it was in the 80’s/90’s. It just seemed to have became too expensive to be viable recently.
this aged well
Stopped watching when it moved to channel 5 , was interesting seeing this and how the cast had faired with ageing.
That's a missed opportunity, 'a show fit to be watched by royalty!!!!!!'
Wow
Shame on the show for erasing Henry (Craig Mclachlan)
Why ? I watched whole episodes everyone from back then came back
Have lived in Oz since 1971; never watched.
I remember about 6 years ago I seen a man with an outdoor mat asked him where in the shop he got it , he walked me to the aisle couldn't think where I seen him 😝😝😝😝 it was Guy Pierce lovely bloke . 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Memories 😁

Wait Harold was still in it
The bbc should have ditched eastenders instead!
The last episode was a bit of a let down aired here last night 👎😑🇦🇺
Wake up folks winter chaos is coming .. what is the government doing to tackle this
Grew up watching this iconic show (late 90s-2022) was my era, although it did go downhill since when I first started watching it, I never missed an episode, it was part of my daily routine, the trans storyline, homosexuals (felt like they were trying to push it in our faces too much) Aaron n David, Chloe and Elly, Nicolette and Kiri) got abit too much to be fair. However I still loved Karl/Susan/Toadie/Paul, what legends.
Neighbours was one of my favourites growing up in the 1990s and I have a few box sets of the early years. But I think that this is the type of programme suited to the 1980s and 1990s. Sadly, culture has moved on, and there's no longer really a place for Neighbours in the 2020s, or if there is, it's very niche. I don't think that TV has the same unifying power in 2022 as it did in the 1980s and there are too many alternative entertainment options, so less people are going to be interested in following the lives of fictional characters over long story arcs.
The finale was just broadcast in the U.K. and I think it was a great send off for the well loved soap. But I do agree with you in saying that neighbours doesn't have the same effect on society as it did in the 80s and 90s. Because we only had 5 channels on mainstream TV, everybody watched it and so it really connected everyone and we'd all talk about it. Even with my school teachers. Now with all the different streaming services and the plethora of different TV shows, everyone watches their own thing and so we don't have that unifying connection with one thing anymore. Sure you have mega popular shows like game of thrones that lots of people do watch and they chat about it but it's not the same community connection as it was. But Neighbours has left us with great memories and great stories from great people that we will always remember. ❤️❤️❤️
Bridget death will always hurt me
That's sad they give us lot's of the neighbors back and then take them all away but this time for good 😭😭😭
I hate Neighbours coming to an end! 😢
Well bovvered innit
ii think it's illegal to be australian and famous if you've never been on neighbours
What is the government doing to tackle the nhs crisis … or dnt they want to ..
Australia & U.K. is the same thing
A real shame but soaps are a dying breed these days replaced by soapy primetime dramas with bigger budgets and more freedom to shoot beyond a locked studio/set combination... I hope it does get a modern revival soon enough! ;-)
Erinsborough Centrelink will be full of out of work actors
😪
Neighbours pick ya nose And taste the flavours These flavours are quavers an and when big bogies become your frienddddddddd 😂
whelp, no more afternoon shows for me then😅
I preferred the Mad Max movies.
Thank fuck for that ...
Hasn't been worth watching since Kate Keltie left the show.
I think Neighbours is ok but I not watched for it a long time.
Should have stayed on the bbc in the uk and on iPlayer, got lost to old school tv scheduling.
O well bye forever
Doesn’t Harold look well for 84…
There is always another closing down last minute sellout...
Neighbours always seemed very fake and sterile - another weird thing is that NOBODY ever smoked a cigarette on Neighbours - a WHOLE street of NON smokers lol ....
Thank God for some good news. Any hope of ending some other endless strife and argument sessions?
HA HA AS PEOPLE ARE WAKING UP

Despite the economic downturn, I'm so happy 😊. I have been earning $6,000 returns from my $13,500 investment every 13days
I have also been trading with her, the profits are secured and over a 100% return on your investment directly sent to your wallet. I made up to $15,000 in 2Months trading with her.
Trading investment is a safer and surest way to make more money now because I have made up to $121,700 recently from investment trading and management.
With an initial investment of $5,400 I made up to $11, 700 in just a week's trading with her, Mrs Linda strategies are mind blowing.
how do I get a professional I don't know anyone, sorry to bother you but do you have any that I could work with?
