Beyoncé's back in the day singing "Bug-a-Boo" to now singing "Find Your Way Back" or JoJo singing "Too Little Too Late" to anything recent (when she released Disaster, people said she couldn't sing nomore). As women get older (especially during and after pregnancy), their vocies mature. Their lower register expands in range, texture, tone, and control, while high notes become more strenuous but still attainable (tho they might sound a little different). BUT besides all of this, Brandy has always sang a little darker and raspier in tone/ texture when she performs live. Even in 1998 when did "The Boy Is Mine" with Monica live, she sung like that (especially if you compare the live vs studio vocals). Brandy's still and always will be "The Vocal Bible". She will always be your singers favourite. She ain't going anywhere soon (or atleast till Syria makes her official debut)
She is a lot older than her teenage self so she will have a mature sound. As we get older our voices mature. Besides the songs she’s singing were songs that started off in a lower register. Don’t eat that fool you she can belt high notes. Remember who her mentor and friend was. She learned a lot from Whitney.
