First visited Rock City and Ruby Falls in 1951 age 4. Still have a miniature gnome souvenir

9 yrs old, I was standing in the waiting gallery of Ruby Falls visitor center, expecting to travel down to the cave for my first time. All the TVs on the walls were showing the launch of the space shuttle Challenger. It happened to be that fatal launch of January 28, 1986.
Bittersweet memories, a great family vacation & a day in history, at an iconic place I had always wished to visit but haven't been since..
