A lot has happened since releasing our first explainer video and our technology continued to develop from an Organic Flow battery based on lignin to an Organic SolidFlow™ battery made from carbon-based molecules. Founded in 2014, CMBlu Energy started out as a research project by founder and CEO Dr. Peter Geigle following nature’s example to store energy in organic cells. In the meantime, the company grew to about 180 employees, 100 of which are scientists involved in research and development. We are now one of the world’s largest developers of non-lithium-based energy storage systems in the multi-megawatt range.
