Looks like this video has reached 1 million views recently. Even though I've retired FNF content, I still feel very happy that people liked this song so much. I guess it's time to give some commentary on this song. So it started from the first FNF version of Confronting Yourself, which was a cover that I didn't quite like. I wanted to make something with that concept but executed better. I started with listening to a cover of Confronting Yourself as the Megalovania track for Differentopic. This cover in particular doesn't seem to exist anymore. (Correction: It does not exist online, but I found out that I still have a copy downloaded on my computer, which is a relief.) Making this track, I went off of the most recent version of Confronting Yourself by Saster at the time but transposed it into the key of the cover I got inspiration from. I also had some inspiration from MIRROR MODE by Misfire, which had released about six days before Confronting Yourself MR. Sonic's voice here comes from the Chaos Series. Sonic.exe's voice is the usual. Comes from the original mod. His voicelines here were recorded by me. I originally intended to have Sonic's voice quiver and break in the Tails and Knuckles section to further sell Sonic being upset over his best friends dying, but I feel like him falling says enough. I added those two in as a somewhat direct nod to MIRROR MODE. I added the Super Sonic section because I felt that it would set this remix apart from other Confronting Yourself remixes and create a direct contrast between this song and MIRROR MODE. I didn't want Sonic to lose against Sonic.exe. I know that he would never give up, even when things look bleak. I did everything in my power to make the Super Sonic transformation as powerful as it could be. I created the fakeout scene with Sonic seeming defeated and being consumed by darkness after seeing his deceased friends before the Chaos Emeralds revealed themselves. I held the singing to let the transformation sink in and breathe. I delayed revealing Super Sonic in the video until just before the singing began. I had Sonic start singing first to show that the game has changed and that Sonic now has the advantage. The guitar solo is a duet between Super Sonic and Sonic.exe as a final clash. The song's ending leaves the outcome ambiguous, but if you ask me, I'm willing to bet that Sonic won. I think I definitely captured the feeling I wanted when making the Super Sonic section. I wanna give a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me during the FNF era of my channel. While I might not be doing this content anymore, I can still look back on it and appreciate it with a smile. Be assured that these tracks are not going anywhere anytime soon. I've also left some commentaries in the descriptions of some of my Soundcloud tracks. They're nowhere near as long as this one, but they have information on my thoughts of the songs now and what I was thinking when making the songs. Honestly, if this song was in some sort of rhythm game/cinematic game (OUTSIDE OF FNF), I believe that instead of the song having the player play as Sonic, it’s the player hunting him down as EXE only for it to turn the tides around once Sonic goes Super.
