  • On the eve of his testimony before a congressional committee, Sam Salehpour, a Boeing engineer, tells NBC News' Tom Costello that he raised concerns to his superiors about a number of issues, including a gap between parts of the 787's fuselage that is not up to Boeing's specs. Boeing insists the plane is safe and has shown no signs of fatigue.

These CNC production jobs just expect more and more numbers while quality suffers along with pay for their employees. What used to be a precision manufacturing job has become so automated that the skill level has declined and the pay is like $25-30 an hour ( if you’re lucky ). A CNC machinist deserves 50-60 an hour but they make garbage. Half of what it’s really worth. Profits and production come before safety and employees. They’re already behind schedule and more quality issues are sure to arise because of this.

Stress testing one aircraft does not ensure the safety of an entire fleet of aircraft. checks and balances do the FAA need to do in-person inspections and not let Boeing do it themselves. Boeing should also do inflight testing and not computer simulations for testing of newer aircraft. Also recreating order of operation in their production is important every shift should need to sign off on the work done so the upcoming shifts know and don't miss something basic and important like bolts to a door plug.

Paper thin gaps retightened in 2020, and no evidence of fatigue in over 3X the flights in a lifespan. And the FAA checks every new plane…. Its safe this is dumb. 15 minutes of fame for these “whistleblowers”

So Boeing has performed all the necessary stress tests 3 times the life of any 787 with the data to back it up. Yet, this quality engineer feels differently because he thinks it’s not good even though he admits he hasn’t see all the data. I’ve been in the aviation industry for 20+ years and have worked with some doofus quality engineers and this guy meets the criteria. BTW, I work for one of Boeing’s competitors and my opinion is for sure unbiased. Some people just want attention.

These so-called whistleblowers should be investigated themselves also because the say-so of a single employee at whatever level they were should not hold such power that would bring down a massive company like Boeing which has such stellar safety issues before the new generation planes. Boeing was leading Airbus in a massive way in all sectors until the sudden demise of the Max and the issues with the 777X the Dreamliner was leading in its sector by massive margins, it has been flying for so many years without issues until this so-called alert, not by a pilot or ground inspection crew or any buyers of the plane but by someone who probably has an axe to grind. So again I ask the question- who gains from the scandals of Boeing? China can't sell its failed venture with Russia's offering in the COMAC C919, Airbus made a white elephant in the A£*) which is already out of production in less than 20 years, the A350 is a good aircraft but was outsold by the Dreamliner and the threat of the 777X was looming to further disrupt the success of A350, the A220 series was potentially popular but was still behind the 737 series led by the MAX. On another note there's a war going on in Ukraine and the aggressor there has taken some massive blows in sanctions and the battlefield even with their commercial planes grounded because of lack of service and spare parts so could it be they in consort with China corrupt bad actors? Remember they would like to see a flagship of America fail on the world stage. It is also very very sad that the American media is part of the pitchfork carriers doing all this hurt to Boeing. Sad.
