I just wanted to say…. I have owned 2 other hamsters with incorrect care, too small of a cage, and letting them get too cold and go into hibernation. I have just recently gotten a Syrian hamster, and before I got him, I had spent MONTHS watching your videos, and now i have a huge cage, 630 square inches, and he has a more enriched cage with more stuff to chew on. Thank you for all your videos, it has helped me so much :D

How on earth did you get such a big cage!? It's so cool! Its a pity my home is far away in Asia :< And also, what is the type of bedding you use? When I see Mabel's burrows, it looks like a tunnel, the wood shearings I use for Caramel's (my hamster) bedding does not hold up and is not sturdy when she digs.
I’m always so jealous to see your hammies wake up so early! 😆 One of mine wakes up at 1am and goes to bed at 5am, the other wakes up at 11:30pm and goes to bed at 7am, so sometimes I see her, but it’s so difficult to take them out for playtime. I feel like a mother with a newborn waking up in the middle of the night to attend to my children 😂

I give my hamster those Oxbow heart-shaped treats, he usually manages to break them in half and puts one half in each side, but a couple weeks ago he just didn’t care and shoved *the whole thing* in one pouch! He ran away with it so I couldn’t snap a picture or anything, but my hamster is determined to get what he wants, despite now being 18 months 🙁

I wouldn’t recommend using sand from the beach, you don't know what's been through the sand (ie parasites, bacteria's, bugs, funguses, animal waste and human litter) and whether or not it's able to be sanitized out.

I have air purifier questions if you see this. I love my levoit. Why inside the bunny room and not outside? Stop the floof and smell at the source? Do the bunnies wreck the filters quicker than normal? Do they try and chew the wire guard?
It's not for stopping the smell for me personally. It's for improving their air quality and the dust that accumulates in that room. The dustier an area the more you're likely to go through a filter. They don't chew it.
I asked for the supplies to make the cage you have. ( the diy one you rebuilt) I was wondering what wood you used as a replacement and what varnish you used. I want to keep my ham safe :)

One even got into a crawl space in the wall via a whole underneath a cabinet. Could you make a hamster proofing video that specifically covers kitchen and bathroom spaces (any room with cabinets :)? Yes! I covered it up after Dipper's first free roam and I noticed it after taking a picture of him 😅 thankfully they're larger than the holes but I didn't want to take any chances. I think it's actually pretty simple to hamster proof, you just have to look for any holes or crevices and block them!

I was also watching your spot cleaning video from a couple days ago and I was wondering what time of day you typically spot clean? Is it only once your hamsters are awake? Asking because I spot clean when my little guy is in his play pen in the evenings, but occasionally I find I need to spot clean during times where he isn't out yet since he's pretty inconsistent with his wake-up times (and I sometimes don't have the energy to wait until 1am for this). Should I just only spot clean when I can while he's wake, or would this be considered one of those "it's alright to gently wake him an hour or so before he typically does because a clean home is more worth that bit of rudeness"? Thanks!
I love being part of your morning! I spot clean at night when they're awake but some of the spot cleanings don't require going into the burrows so for some things I can do them at any time of day. Sometimes waiting until they're awake isn't possible so just waiting until the evening or a couple hours before they'd wake up is okay to do!

I have a question: I like to play music in my room throughout the day (not hard metal rock or anything, but Broadway can be a bit noisy lol) would you say it would be okay to play music in my room while my hamster is asleep? I don’t want to disrupt my sleep, and I have not seen him being tired or stressed, and if I play music at night while he is awake, he doesn’t mind, he’s pretty tolerant. Could he just be used to it as well?
I have converted my dad haha I showed him the linmon enclosure and he said it was a bit small he used to have tiny pet shop cages and thought they were big 😂

I think normal volume is fine, most hamster's become used to the environment they live in and the day to day sounds that happen.
