carolina and NJ are a real reality check - they are on a different level. if petey has tendonitis it can last for a long time and it can affect every aspect of your play - not just skating
Pettersson is broken? No kidding. But what about the whole team was broken for this game. And why the hell would you put Silovs in net against a high scoring team that Canucks almost always lose to. This game seemed like some players were playing to get the coach fired.
@@Cobra85291to be fair, I think signing Lankinen may have affected his ability to be the Arty of last year. If you played as well as he did last year and management signed another goaltender, what kind of message would that send to that player? This is no way a hit on Lankinen and I'm happy that he's here, however I can't help but to see the internal conflict management is creating which is stunting the growth of our developing players. People are saying that if we didn't have Lankinen the Canucks would be doooomed!!! We don't know that and could very well be the opposite and Silovs could have been standing on his head building on what he accomplished last year in the playoffs. Bottom line, the people in front of him didn't do so well either and for someone to be off as long as he was, don't expect him to play at his sharpest or best. Meh, there are bigger holes that need addressing than Silovs performance tonight.
Petey is broken but, @sucraf1, I agree with you that that game against the Devils was a disaster for the Canucks in more ways than just that. it’s time to say that Kevin Lankinen should have gotten to start that game against the Devils, but putting Šilovs in goal no doubt help make clear, at the earliest available opportunity, of his lack of playability. At least GM Allvin and President Rutherford know, or at least they both SHOULD, that Šilovs is unlikely to give anywhere near an acceptable performance at the initial level unless sent down to the AHL to play multiple games down there. Yes Šilovs sure wasn’t the only reason the Canucks were shut out in their most recent game, but because he was a big one, he deserves his share of the blame too.
Though Silovs was great in the playoffs, the Oilers realized how to beat him and beat him easily. Silovs has always been bad at tracking pucks from a distance (something that Demko is very good on). Oilers figured this out in the playoffs (in game 7 against the Nucks as they just shot pucks from a distance in the 2nd period instead of doing it from up close). Other teams figured this out and Silovs is easily beatable because of this. In tonight's game, Silovs was just bad even from up close. Maybe some goals he let in wasn't bad goals, but top goalies find a way to stop them to give their team a chance.
DeBrusk was a bad signing. lol I had those Mikheyev vibes when I seen it, but I was trying to be optimistic… All the signs were there, every single Boston fan was saying he’s extremely streaky- or basically has next to no consistency. Let’s just hope he’s better than Eriksson was.
We should of waited till the offseason to resign Petterson. We could saved some of that much needed cap space. Hes been trash ever since signing that thing.
Sorry Lego. I’m only here to comment that I can’t even watch this video as I turned the game off itself. That was embarrassing and I’m not gonna waste any more of my time on it tonight. On to the next one(that hopefully isn’t a laid egg)
That loss to the Devils was a disaster on so many fronts, and there's no telling what changes will happen to this roster if any. That said, that dud of a performance I'm sure has already put pressure on the coaching staff and front office to make radical changes to this lineup because oh boy will the Canucks sink further in the standings if they don't sufficiently change the way they play, fast.
That game was a shitshow from top to bottom. There were multiple times on the power play where Petey was wide open at the right circle, just to have Hughes try to shoot from the point. This is literally right after an interview where Tocchet said Petey never has one timer opportunities anymore because people have figured him out, yet when he has those opportunities open nobody passes him the puck.
i feel the whole team was bad tonight i really only felt huggy keifs and garly were decent and even they weren’t great especially with that shorty from huggy and miller but i do think that’s more millers fault. Silovs needs to work on his goal tending or he’ll never be a starter in this league i know he’s young and going against good players but he just wasn’t good tonight, i’ve noticed toch doesn’t like changing goalies during the game which i feel is a bit of a weakness in his coaching. Myers needs to be moved to the 3rd pairing i don’t care what we have to do to bring him down but do it he’s more of a liability than anything he skates right into petey to make that 1st goal a 2 on 1, myers what are you doing trying to join a rush that isn’t there. i don’t know where our whole team was tonight and another thing send bains down to the 4th he doesn’t deserve top 6 minutes especially at his skill level
Heinen - Blueger - Sherwood was the only line that stood out. This games shows how much we need Joshua back and isn't fair to Sherwood that he was working hard like he did the past few games. Garland and Hughes were the other notables who showed their amazing skating ability and strong puck possession. A 5ft nothing player throwing his gloves down to wake his team up...sad. Hronek wasn't to impressive with poor passes and puck handling which questions if he is able to anchor his own pairing. Special teams is a complete bust as of right now and need to come up with more ways to penetrate the offensive zone. So are the Canucks trying to reshape the square peg to fit into the round hole or should they reshape the round hole inorder to fit the square peg? Maybe Toc needs to watch more past videos of Petterson on how to effectively utilize him and maybe can get a better understanding of where to put him to be successful.
1 bad playoff at 25 years old decides he is not a good player when he had 89 points in the regular season with 102 points the year before? His only other time in the playoffs he was over a point/game. You are whats wrong with fans on the internet.. There is clearly something wrong with him, to say he is not a good player is just spewing negative garbage
Something's going on with Pettersson...yeah it's obvious he's a fragile head case. Can we just get rid of him already? I'll fly from my home in Ottawa to Vancouver just so I can drive him to the airport.
I was there at the game. Hoglander looked good in a limited role, Miller and Boeser looked okay honestly not as good though, and all the other forwards looked terrible... Hughes was good as always and Brannstrom was okay but not great and the other D men were not great. Silovs was terrible but the forwards don't check or pressure the D so they don't make the goalies life easier that's for sure
This team needs to address the real problems ..Defense and forwards don't play both sides of the ice hard enough .. The devil's team have real nhl players who can score goals and a goalie that wants to win in their net
Gotta say Lego’s thumbnail game is peak based

Listening to the radio cause of regional blocked in BC Canada, it really did sound like it.

And people were saying to trade Demko because we were solid with Silovs. Wonder what theyre saying now? Playing at that AHL level.

I was at this game. So disappointing.
Silovs hasn’t impressed me this year like he did last year

@@baiqi44Someone get that man some prescription contacts. lol
@@Cobra85291if that’s true that’s insane 😭 demko is vezina contender. Silovs is still an AHL goalie
Petey and Debrusk... where are you??

Two horrid contracts by Alvin.
The Pettersson contract was Rutherfords call, he wanted it done asap

It’s not just Petey. It’s the whole team (aside from garland) what happened today…
