- This project has been on my to-do list for 3 years!! As I'm taking part in Junk Journal July this month hosted by Meg Journals I thought this was the perfect moment to create a junk journal Lapbook that will help me organise my junk journal fodder ready for the challenge.
It's made from two vintage books I purchased from a Brocante in France some time ago with genuine and retro ephemera and lots of Tim Holtz goodies.
This is not a tutorial, but a narrated flip-through of the finished lapbook. You can watch the build-up tutorial from Nik the Booksmith over on her channel. It's an amazing series of 12 videos that show you the build-up from start to finish. I was definitely inspired by her, but I also did my own thing too and adapted my sections for the purpose this was intended.
I hope you enjoy it!

That tracing paper ephemera shelf is just *chef’s kiss*. A thing of beauty truly
Absolutely stunning! I am totally blown away .....and yes just want to make one myself! Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed flip through.

It is a beautiful junk journal lapbook.

That big red book is amazing! 👏🏼 And your junk journal is coming along nicely too! 👍 Steph
Thanks so much Steph, yes those red books were quite a find! 🤩
Beautiful lap book filled w/ all kinds of yumminess!! 💖 That type of closure is known as the "button(or rivets) & string" closure. 😉 Your junk journal January pages (& soon-to-be July) are gorgeous!!
Thanks Debbie! And now I know! Button & string closure… seems too obvious but makes total sense 😂😂
This is absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing

Hello, I am starting a lap book today and found your video!! Lovely lapbook!!
Thanks and Have fun!
Good morning Netty, I've been thinking about making a lapbook for a while now and looked at quite a bit of videos to see what each one does and why, and I followed Nik's tutorial as well.
I only want to make one if I can USE it, not just it being pretty and such.
I make, among other things 🙂 cards, and I thought a lapbook where I can store all the things I use to make the cards would be perfect.
Well, and then I come across your video, the ONLY one I feel related to, so thank you very much for the flip through and explanations on your lapbook. 🤗
Wow 🤩 thanks for the great comment and I’m delighted my video has inspired you to make your card-making lapbook! Awesome!! 🤩
LOVE that cover! I'm late to the Junk Journal July party. It's also Jane Austen July and One Book July. Lots of Julys to celebrate! Maybe I'll combine all three sometime this month. Ha! :-)
Thanks so much… I know there are so many great projects and challenges going on at the moment… too many to find time for !! 🤯
Oh, goodness. So much loveliness! Wonderful lapbook. It would be an amazing gift for a special friend, and a great way to share crafty bits. Looking forward to seeing more videos from you!
Thank you Dawn ☺️

Love both your books 🤩 You have done a marvelous job 🥰
