It’s great to see this heavy artillery. Had to back it up and get a second glimpse of the motorcycle tank! Somebody must have had a fortified side-car in mind, or very determined to never give up their “biker” status even on the battlefield. Begs curiosity of its performance and the operator’s mortality.

Yeah, that thing is pretty unusual! Here's a link to the Wikipedia site about it where you can learn more, if you're so inclined. "Tanks" for checking out my video!

The Soviet T55 is a museum piece that's still in front line service in many countries. Currently, it's in action in Ukraine. Good to see one of the German big cats in the Heritage collection. Thanks for the video.

I was aware that the T72 was in action in Ukraine, but I didn't know that the T55 was being used. That's crazy! Thanks for sharing that info, Dunbar, and thanks for watching!

Great place. I love that IS-2, the holes through that gun mount in the turret and then on the front glacis plate amaze me every time I see them. Some of the thickest armour of WWII and someone still managed to shoot through it. It’s hard to put into perspective the size of these tanks until your looking up at them lol

Definitely! Seeing tanks in movies and documentaries is cool, but there's no substitute for standing next to one! Gives you a sense of the magnitude of some of the epic battles that featured hundreds, or thousands of these steel beasts all on the field at the same time!
And I agree, that IS-2 is incredible! The bad guys must have known their days were numbered when they saw that thing rumbling down the streets of Berlin!
Thanks for checking out my video! Make sure you check out the sister video I filmed about American Tanks at the same museum!

@@wanderwitheric Nice work, I’m a huge tank nerd so living 35 minutes from this museum is a miracle. I wish it was more popular or they would do something on social media like the bovington tank museum or the Australian museum. They have so much history and potential and I feel like that would draw more people in. The cars and planes in the closed building are incredible as well, those are usually opened during weekend events or re-enactments.

I actually volunteered at this museum several times when I was living in New England! I don't know nearly as much about the exhibits as many of the other docents. I was just getting to know things when a family emergency called me back to the West Coast. I miss that place! I was hoping to be a volunteer docent there for years to come. Well, who knows what the future may bring?
You should consider volunteering there if you have the time. That's one way to make a difference.

@@wanderwitheric that’s something I think I would enjoy, I like talking to the docents when I visit.

Allied soldiers payed a heavy price to win the war. I don't think you have to thank us for the Panther from our grandfathers. ;-)
    Nice video, mate.

Haha, thanks! Even though these tools of war were often used for bad causes, I still appreciate the engineering and respect the people who courageously and skillfully operated them, no matter what uniform they wore!
