I agree with you 100%. The reason the St Louis team is thriving is because they lost their NFL teams. The UFL has a great opportunity to fill in vacuums, where NFL teams have left, or where NO NFL teams are. The league should be cultivating overlooked metros, and forget about towns like Chicago & New Orleans, etc. The UFL can be a successful alternative to the NFL, but not a direct competitor. Just my opinion..
This one of the best UFL expansion videos I’ve seen. I would like to see the UFL go into those Non-NFL markets like Omaha,OKC,Louisville and San Diego fast. Especially OKC and Omaha since they’re not far from the Dallas Hub.
And as a native, louisville since us kentucky fans are wild, and while we already love our teams we support, we would kill for a home team to rally behind
The only way a league can grow this big and last this long is if it has a novelty aspect to it. Like the Arena League lasted for 20 years with close to 20 teams because it was different and it wasn't considered real football. It was actually a pretty brilliant idea. Look at the original USFL. There were maybe 5 teams doing well and the rest dragged down the league financially.
I believe the UFL can set itself apart from the NFL by not trying to compete with it (remain in the spring), keeping ticket prices down so average American families can afford to go on a regular basis (unlike the NFL), and sticking with a plan of slow and steady growth. They will never be as big as the NFL and that's OK. they don't have to be. What they can do is fill a niche for the group of us who want to be able to enjoy the game of football all year long. The branding is well done and the FOX foundation is sturdy, they just need to start pushing local marketing and move teams into their home cities within the next two years. That's my two cents at least. Thanks for watching!
@@VikingWaxPress Yes but you left the Generals to the very end. Why does it have to be regional expansion? The Breakers were once in Portland, they can go back there. New Orleans already has a team. Oklahoma and Oakland should be the first USFL teams brought back. Then Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New Jersey.
@@tomservo75 the reason I planned the expansion the way I did was to start Local in order to build the financial foundation slowly and then start expanding west into the spring football desert that is the west and then go from there and that means New Jersey New York market came after the West Coast. It could easily change where you expand up the East Coast first and then to the West Coast, but that leaves, the western half of America without teams. Right now someone from New Jersey could easily travel to DC to watch the Defenders yet someone in Portland Oregon has no valid options.
I do hope the UFL will be a permanent fixture and will partner up with the NFL. I would like to see what FOX and the USFL were trying to do and bring back all the former USFL teams. I know it will probably take up to 10-15 years with future expansion. Well, this is what I wish the UFL would eventually be like with a league of 28 teams. Once again there would be 2 Conferences, the USFL conference and the XFL conference. Each conference would have 14 teams in them with 2 divisions (with 7 teams in them). The USFL conferences 2 divisions would be the North and South divisions. The North division would consist of the Chicago Blitz, Denver Gold, Hartford Federals (formerly the Washington Federals), Michigan Panthers, New Jersey Generals, Philadelphia Stars, and the Pittsburgh Maulers. The south division would be the Austin Gamblers (formerly the Houston Gamblers), Birmingham Stallions, Jacksonville Bulls, Memphis Showboats, New Orleans Breakers, Orlando Warriors (formerly the Orlando Renegades), and the Tampa Bay Bandits. The XFL conference would have the East and West divisions. The East division would consist of the Arlington Renegades, DC Defenders, Houston Roughnecks, Ohio Guardians (formerly the Orlando Guardians, and yes they play in Canton Ohio), Oklahoma Outlaws, San Antonio Brahmas, and the St. Louis Battlehawks. The West division would consist of the Arizona Wranglers, Los Angeles Express, Portland Vipers (formerly the Vegas Vipers), Salt Lake City Gunslingers (formerly the San Antonio Gunslingers), San Diego Wildcats (formerly the LA Wildcats), Seattle Sea Dragons and the Oakland Invaders (it would probably be San Jose or Sacramento, Northern California for sure for the Invaders since the stadium in Oakland is in dire need of repairs). I know there will be people saying the San Diego team should be the Fleet but that was an AAF team (and the UFL does not have the rights to them) and besides the USFL/XFL would rather bring back the Express and Wildcats. The regular season would be a 13-game season
@@VikingWaxPress Thanks, I really would like to see all 19 USFL teams to return and all 9 XFL "reboot" teams to come back as well. I know everyone has their "wish list" but AAF teams are not coming back since the UFL does not own the rights to them. Nor do I see any teams from the original XFL coming back (I'm not even sure if they have the rights to them). The reboot XFL seemed to have stayed away from the original XFL so I don't see any of those teams coming back. Nor do I see a whole new team being created over an already existing USFL/XFL team
@@kpowers I agree. I like the AAF helmets but they aren’t tied at all to the UFL so it just doesn’t make sense. I am afraid they won’t bring back all of the original USFL teams as much as I’d love them to. San Antonio Gunslingers are an IFL team and we already have a team in San Antonio so that one is for sure not returning.
@@VikingWaxPress Well it is a "Wish list" and it's more like what the league would look like if all the original USFL teams and all the XFL (reboot) teams came back. Yes, I know the San Antonio Gunslingers are an IFL team now and the UFL already has a team in San Antonio so that's why why I put the Gunslingers in Salt Lake. I don't see it as an issue. UFL has the Michigan Panthers and the NFL has the Carolina Panthers
Orlando will be difficult because tourists and so many other activities surrounding Orlando. Please explain why Jacksonville won't get the Bulls, the Bulls had better attendance than the other Florida teams and is the largest city in the Sunshine state.
The Bulls were pre-Jaguars so that is one reason the attendance was so high, they were the only pro football team in town. Could a 2nd pro team attract as much interest? Perhaps, but there are plenty of other non-tapped markets to choose from. Would I personally like to see the Bulls come back? Yes!! I would love it.
Realistically I am aware it couldn't work to expand that large, the primary reason being the amount of talent required to remain at a high level of play just isn't there for that many teams, and yes, it would take the addition of very wealthy owners too.
United Football League 1. LA Express - SoFi Stadium 2. LA Wildcats - Los Angeles Coliseum 3. Chicago Enforcers - New Bears Stadium 4. New England Force - Patriots Stadium 5. Kansas City Rage - Arrowhead Arena (Chiefs Stadium) 23. NY Hitmen - West Side Stadium
I really dislike people that propose expansion teams without taking into consideration logistics, costs, and considerations on whether there is sufficient interest for a sub-NFL team. Will the Chicago Blitz actually have an affordable venue and fans willing to root for someone other than the Bears? BTW, Allegiant will not host a non-Raiders team, nor can any team use Sam Boyd Stadium for football due to contractual arrangements WITH Allegiant. It's why the Vipers ended up in the parking lot that was Cashman.
There was 2 pro football teams in Sacramento in the past, the Surge (WLAF) and the Gold Miners (CFL). Maybe they can get the rights to either name for the Sacramento team if it happens. I would probably favor Gold Miners, as Sacramento was a stop-point town (between the city of San Francisco and the nearby mining hub of Coloma) during the California Gold Rush of the late 1840s
I think they should give teams to larger cities and less large cities that don't have an NFL team(ex. Sacramento instead of somewhere in the Bay area).
They're going to pay the outrageous fees that the rights-holder want for teams like the Fleet and Apollos? Also why you probably won't see any of the 2000 XFL team names as those are owned by McMahon's company.
I would not put a team in Canton. I would put teams in large cities that don't have NFL teams. In Ohio, I would put a team in Columbus(over 900,000) and I would put a team in Auston, Texas (also over 900,000). I would not consider cities that have a NFL team.
Columbus is a great choice, Austin is good too but there are already 3 Texas teams. I think there are a few select NFL cities where the UFL could work, similar to the way it has in D.C., namely Chicago, New York/New Jersey, and Atlanta due to their sheer size and economic bandwidth. People in cities that large need a less expensive football option and have enough population to make it work.
@@VikingWaxPress Without expansion into major markets (on both coasts), the UFL won't be around that long. Why not bring back the Seattle Dragons? If the league can't handle distance, it isn't something to be taken seriously. Make the "new UFL" TRULY NATIONAL or FOLD!
@@JamiesonPercad you realise the NFL started out as a regional league and didn't fully go 'nationwide' until they stuck a team out in LA, right? That was after...um... 20 years?
The west coast isn’t big on these kinds of leagues, except in smaller cities where there’s not much money to be made. Seattle failed because they have viable tenants in leagues with less insurance costs. Any team needs to have St. Louis numbers (if you’re in an NFL stadium) just to be viable. I’m not sure the league isn’t better off trying to find space for modular stadiums (like was erected for the T20 Cricket World Cup on Long Island, and note that they’re already disassembling it). Otherwise, the rent is too damn high (in most cases). Mind you, the best reason to expand by two teams a year is the likelihood that the UFL will lose two teams a year. The trick is to try to keep enough large markets involved so that media still wants to pay the freight. Good luck.
Seattle is ready, but is the UFL ready to take on the expense of traveling that far yet? I think they 'll wait until the 2025 season is over before they decide, and maybe if they improve their home crowds by, let's say 10-15%, then maybe they go West, if not then I think they will stay conservative and closer to their current markets.
The only way the UFL expansion works is how much of an audience they draw in this season, as well as tv viewership. I’m not saying the UFL can’t expand and draw in more football fans, but in America, the NFL draws in more football fans and the UFL has to do a lot of promotions to expand this league just to get people to come to the games and get people to also watch it on tv. Right now, the UFL is a new league that’s a work in progress and a lot of room to grow.
What about the Utah Roadrunners? In very loose reference to the racing scene on the salt flats near the Great Salt Lake, as well as to the Road Runner from the Looney Tunes series.
There is no stadium for a proposed Omaha team to play in. The downtown baseball stadium was built for the College World Series and the city won't let the field get ripped up in the weeks leading to the series.
That Boston Brawlers logo came from the Fall Experimental Football League in 2014. The FXFL was Brian Woods' 1st attempt at a new league before The Spring League. The logo was designed by Gridiron Labs' Dane Storrusten, who also created that Seals logo you used for San Diego (although it was originally the Sea Lions of the A11FL, which bought most of the USFL trademarks before Brian Woods and FOX did)
The only issue I have with this is that with a league bigger than 20 teams, you'll have to run about 16-18 games, which can run you right smack dab into scheduling conflicts with the NFL. For me, ideally, the UFL can have a maximum of 20 teams, and can run a 14 game schedule. This gives you time for playoffs, and, more importantly, time to breathe between leagues. If what they're saying is true and they'll slowly revive brands in the next couple years, here's how I'd expand the league to 20: 2025: NJ Generals & NY Guardians (both in Metlife or Red Bull Arena); Philadelphia Stars, Seattle Dragons 2026: Portland Breakers, San Diego Tomcats, Chicago Enforcers/Cyclones, Orlando Pioneers/Cougars 2030s-ish: Columbus Cardinals, San Jose Grizzlies, Milwaukee Hogs, Oklahoma City Drillers
@@ethanmx2 nice! You will have to keep me posted on progress. I am working on a game too, similar to the old Statis Pro Football game but with UFL/XFL/USFL teams.
Nice. I like it. If they refuse to bring a MLB team to NC or make the Hornets a winning franchise, then I think the UFL has a chance here. They'd just have to not schedule home games during March Madness.
While Scorpions would be cool for Scottsdale, I like the idea of bringing the Hotshots back from the AAF. One of the best looking uniforms and logos in football history. Very true to the state, too. I'd personally call Portland the Storm (or Thunder) after their old WFL teams. The Storm was a great logo too. Unless the Breakers don't return to New Orleans, then Portland could take that name, like they did in 1985.
I live in the Portland area and in 1985 I had Breakers season tickets. The Breakers were so fun with Buford Jordan running the ball! That experience made me a forever fan of spring football. It would be a crazy cool dream if the Breakers return to Portland someday.
And I agree about the Hotshots. If they can they should snap up the AAF IP and bring back the Fleet, Hotshots and Apollos (and rename the Brahmas back to the Commanders- screw Washington)
If Atlanta would get a UFL team , I would name them the Flames after former NHL team , with the logo being of course a flaming A , I think that would look good on the side of their helmets and the color of their jerseys should be red with some gold in there somewhere ( Maybe the uniform numbers or the names on the back of their jerseys . To see that flaming A logo at midfield on the 50 would look so cool .
I think 2 teams a year would ideal and at some point there would have to be a cut off point earlier than later. Wouldn't want the game to suffer to much do to a lack of talent. However, I'm curious... Do you think it would take that long to expand out west and into Florida ?
For me personally, outside of the obvious Seattle Dragons (cut the Sea part out lol) and San Diego being a potential St. Louis of the west coast, I’d want to see an expansion team in Mexico, Canada, and possibly Puerto Rico. I think going international would be a great way to open new markets and revenue streams on tv rights that can take advantage of the work that the NFL has already done while also doing something that even the NFL isn’t doing with an international team.
I never really thought about international expansion but I love the idea. I think Mexico is a short-in but I would maybe go Brazil instead of Canada since most Canadians are already a fan of CFL teams who would partially be playing during the same time of year. Puerto Rico could be interesting, would there be enough interest?
Oakland Invaders, San Diego Thunderbolts, Omaha Blackhawks, Iowa Owls, Huntington Steel or West Virginia Mothmen, Louisville Punishers, and Charleston Sharks
@@VikingWaxPress because West Virginia had the legend of the Mothman and I heard someone else's video about the Louisville Punishers with the Red hat on the punisher skull which would look dope like a Mafia
The main reason they wouldnt reuse the AAF name "Stallions" for a team in SLC is because its already in use in Birmingham Ive always liked the name "Salt Lake Velocity", since theyve always used the nearby Bonneville Salt Flats for land speed record attempts
I would like the UFL to acquire the teams from the AAF and the original UFL. So Maybe teams like Omaha Nighthawks, Atlanta Legends, San Diego Fleet, Orlando Apollos, Salt Lake Stallions, Arizona Hotshots, etc. Make it like a true collection of the spring leagues.
Ah, we can dream can't we? For some of those team names, I'd see if I could use some old WFL names/colors like the Jacksonville Sharks or Portland Storm or Shreveport Seamer. The Chicago Fire and New York Stars. The Stars were originally to be the Boston WFL team called the Boston Bulls. Utah can be the old Utah Stars of the ABA. I miss the old USFL Oakland Invaders and LA Express. And the Breakers were 1st in Boston. Anyway, I have no idea if the UFL will be around long enough to actually expand. I hope it finds an audience. Tough when it's basically a developmental league without any big stars. I'm a football fan who'd watch anything. I don't have to be sold. But, less hardcore fans may need name recognition. Well, in any case, I'll keep watching -expansion or not!
Same here, I am all in as long as it lasts. If they do get the rights to use the WFL team names it would be cool to see the Chicago Fire - they had one of my all-time favorite helmet designs. If the Breakers come back anywhere, Boston, New Orleans, or Portland, I hope they bring back the 80s helmets, those were so much better than the 2022-23 version.
If you really think people are nostalgic for a league dead almost 50 years (and I went ape when I was in 4th grade and the Portland Storm came to be… and departed as quickly), I have this bridge available for you if you simply pay the old Storm and Thunder debts. The WFL was almost as bad as the current AFL relaunch.
personally I think if they're going to bring back two teams each new season then it should be one XFL team return and one USFL team to be brought back each new season until all 8 of the defunct have returned creating a 16 team league
@Royce-VikingWaxPress Chicago Enforcers would b much better...blitz ? Any football team has the ability to blitz...in that case how about the new Orleans receivers ? Plus blitz is a verb...verbs don't sound good for team names...look at the nfl names...Blitzers would b better..
Agreed, that’s why the Breakers were 1st. They do need to stay fairly compact regionally though until they catch up financially to where travel costs don’t matter.
New Orleans would support the UFL, but they have to play at one of the smaller outdoor stadiums to really get a good atmosphere going IMO. Tad Gormley Stadium would be a great, scenic spot to catch a game but would require millions in renovations if not an outright demolish/rebuild. Yulman Stadium is a no brainer but IIRC has strict ordinances on what type of events and how often can be held there.
The perfect place for the Breakers would be Zephyr Field, but all of the games would have to be played at night due to the brutal spring heat & humidity of South Louisiana.
I live in the Pacific NW so I would love to see the Sea Dragons back + the Breakers were my favorite USFL team so I will super excited if they come back too. Hope your prediction comes true!
I think first you should bring back all 18 original USFL teams before bringing in brand new teams, or going in markets where there is already an NFL team. For example, the Breakers were once in Portland. There were teams in Oakland and Oklahoma too in the original USFL.
I like Portland and Oklahoma as destinations but since the Bay Area has an NFL team already I would go with Sacramento to cover the Northern California fans. Oakland doesn’t have a good stadium.
@@VikingWaxPress True, it just doesn't seem right to ignore other USFL teams. I suppose you could relocate the Oakland team to Sacramento and make them the Sacramento Invaders. Definitely should revive the Oklahoma Outlaws though. Move another team like the Chicago Blitz to Boise. The Boise Blitz has a nice ring to it.
@@VikingWaxPress Oakland could find stadiums in the Bay Area like at UC Berkeley, it doesn't have to be an NFL quality stadium. On the other hand, that city has lost the Raiders already.... TWICE, so maybe they don't deserve a third chance.
If they go to Ohio, it needs to be Columbus. Fastest growing city in the Midwest, biggest city in Ohio, 2nd biggest metro (bigger than Cleveland), and football CRAZY. With the league being in the spring they don't have to compete with Ohio State, and if the team signed a couple of former Buckeyes it would be supported majorly.
This video forgets the product. The UFL atrracts good football by putting good players on the field. These guys are either just cut or came up close out of college and see the UFL as a way to display their talents to NFL clubs. NFL scouts have a lot of football to watch and more teams means less likelihood for that to occur, lessening the quality of the product. Bad football means no TV money and no TV money is death.
Philosophical question. This comes to mind as CTE is not an issue that has gone away, the population of people approaching college age declines from year to year for the foreseeable future, and other sports gain in participation at the expense of football. If the quality declines at the highest levels, do you still watch? Do you watch because it’s football or because it currently draws a lot of the best athletes? Or another reason? At least my anecdotal evidence is, while a growing number of people dislike football, a quite large number of people still like the sport. They don’t really care if the next generation of kids loses a step, so to speak.
I said elsewhere that this league will need to expand just to fight attrition. So this isn’t an irrelevant video. But if there’s a weakness in the world of football to exploit, it’s the rising costs of playing in high school. The thing that would be different than the NFL is to have a development league; essentially academies. That means there has to be a U-19 league and a U-23 league, because football kind of requires growth to be complete instead of playing teenagers on first teams, unlike most sports. To eventually pay for that, you need a German league and a couple leagues in other countries that aren’t big rugby countries, but have the money. Japan already has a league. Potentially Mexico, believe it or not. See, most countries established laws against things like player drafts. So they’ll want to buy American players. Oh, to be more technical, they’ll buy player contracts. And I know… this is a SERIOUS gamble. No guarantees that the foreign leagues won’t wait for players to be out of contract and then just sign these kids. Otherwise, the league continues with the issues of having to rent stadiums, and NFL stadiums are too big, MLS stadiums aren’t big enough, and college stadiums are often not central to cities.
I enjoyed the team names and locations you suggested. My one thing is I think they need to move to major west coast cities faster than in your timeline. Seattle had the second best fan base in the XFL in 2020/23, if the UFL takes too long to get back there then they chance all the hype and love for spring football will be gone and replaced with resentment. If you look at any social media post from the UFL before the season kicked off almost 100% of them had several post from sad or mad Sea Dragon fans that their team didn’t survive the merger(I understand financially why but their fans miss them all the same).
I think the small untapped markets might be starving enough for pro football to make it work. 10,000 excited fans are better than 20,000 apathetic fans… because they will be loyal through thick and thin.
If It had to be a horse mascot, it would absolutely have to be the Thoroughbreds but I kind of like the Louisville Legends as kind of a tribute to the original Louisville legend Mohammed Ali.
Dude these markets suck. Albuquerque? Totally unrealistic. Also instead of thinking expansion at all, they should really be concerned with the attendance issues that's plagued them since day one. They merged because they were struggling to find a fan base. What we got. The same result with a new identity. Not exactly starting over fresh when you're still having many of the same issues. The ufl is only going to last 2 or 3 more years. Expansion shouldn't even be discussed here until the can pull in a profit off of their existing markets.
@@VikingWaxPress trust me, I want this league to succeed, but it's up to the fans to show up, and so far, only DC and st. Louis got the memo. Focus on improving attendance and market the teams better first. They're billed as a major spring football league, so how are they going to pay their players premium salaries if they're not selling enough merchandise and tickets as it is in 6 out of the 8 existing markets? Think man. Think about these things before you get your hopes up.
@@VikingWaxPress I don't know why spring football fans don't address the issues plaguing the product in their front offices in Arlington. Maybe you're delusional or maybe its because im an entrepreneur and know how to survive in this economy.
@@VikingWaxPress Thanks. When XFL first relaunched, I brainstormed many potential expansion teams. Also felt that they should do two things: have teams in large cities with no current NFL teams and have teams that cover areas and regions instead of just cities and states. Kind of like New England. Like a team for cities like San Diego, Sacramento, and a state like Oklahoma. Or regions like Great Lakes, Rocky Mountains, Yellowstone, Midwest, etc.
@@codster9 yep, having teams in non-NFL teams will be critical. A few exceptions are cities like Chicago which is big enough to have a spring AND fall team especially since the fall team hasn’t performed well recently, similar to how DC seems to like the Defenders almost as much as the Commanders. The ideal markets though are places like Portland, San Diego, Sacramento OKC… non-NFL cities starved for pro football. I keep seeing comments about Hartford, Connecticut, which I missed including in my video but could be a good place for your New England idea.
Indianapolis needs a team, when do you think they will get a team? What about the Indiana Firebirds unless they bring back the Arena Football League and give Indiana a team and bring back the Firebirds to Indiana and have them play in Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse again, then I think they should call them either : Indy Turbo, Indy Twisters or Indy Racers or Indy Dream or Indy Allstars. What do you think their team name should?

One thing you gotta think about is that with expansion you've gotta add a team for both the XFL and USFL. New Jersey Generals (USFL) and New York Guardians (XFL) is my prediction for the newest expansion. But I checked the Tampa Bay Bandits Instagram and am not too sure when it happened but they're called the UFLBandits instead of USFLBandits like they were when the USFL was it's own league 👀 edit: Apparently every team part of XFL and USFL has UFL(Insert team name) on their instagram. Just more surprised the Bandits and Wildcats got it.
More than likely the Houston Roughnecks will move into the XFL division so that means they will have to add 2 more USFL teams. New Orlean Breakers seems to be the team coming back and is set to play at Yulman Stadium. For the other team I could see the Gamblers moving to Austin and playing at Q2 Stadium, which would make travel cost idea for the UFL. My 3rd pick would be the New Jersey Generals playing at Red Bull Arena in Harrison New Jersey. Honestly, I don't know why XFL fans keep picking the Guardians to be back in New York. The Guardians only played 2 games at Metlife stadium going on 5 years ago. Metlife Stadium's capacity is 82,500, way too big for the Guardians. For the first Guardians game they had 15,000 in attendance, the 2nd game 12,000. Guardians should play at a smaller market, maybe Hartford Connecticut or better yet Canton Ohio.
@@kpowers eh not sold on the idea of their being 4 Texas teams. I mainly see the NY Guardian returning because of the NJ Generals just another North East market. Also as mainly a USFL guy 12k don't sound too bad to me lol. Wouldn't mind the Roughnecks returning to the XFL Conference.
I think the key to success is more fans at the games and that will only happen if you go to cities that don't have a NFL team. New York has 2 NFL teams plus the Bills a different part of the state, and Nashville has the Titians, plus look how poor the Showboats are doing in Memphis. Houston and Arlington are not really getting that many fans either, because the fanbase is just not hunger enough for football, they already have NFL teams. The only team in a city with an NFL team that is doing well is DC and only because they have a fun atmosphere, stadium, and team also the Redskins/Commanders are not that well loved and on a bad losing streak. The ULF has to be bold and take big risks and that means going to cities that are not as high on the TV ratings but have a better chance of really getting behind a team like St. Louis did. First off I would relocate Memphis to Omaha or Lincoln and rename them the Pioneers. Michigan I would probably move to Milwaukee keeping the name Panthers but changing the colors to black and gold, Also I put Arlington to Oakland and giving them a mostly black uniform. Then I would have 4 more teams, keeping the names Breakers and Dragons, Wildcats and putting them in Honolulu and San Diego, and Salt Lake respectably. For the new 4th team I would go this Boise and name them the Blizzard.
I like the Boise Blizzard name. I am personally against relocating teams because it shows instability and alienates the fans who were loyal in those markets and those who may not be from those markets but have purchased merch and followed the team (like I did for the Breakers).
@@VikingWaxPressthey have a few patented names and I doubt they will use all of them ...maybe they see this and repent...Nashville Blues, Nashville Express.....

This one of the best UFL expansion videos I’ve seen. I would like to see the UFL go into those Non-NFL markets like Omaha,OKC,Louisville and San Diego fast. Especially OKC and Omaha since they’re not far from the Dallas Hub.
Thanks! I appreciate the positive feedback.
Yeah non-NFL cities. Atlanta doesn’t need a UFL team
And as a native, louisville since us kentucky fans are wild, and while we already love our teams we support, we would kill for a home team to rally behind
As an Omaha native I would LOVE to have pro football back in the state and a correction the Omaha Beef is a AFL team 😊

I'm betting the Seattle Sea Dragons would be the first team brought back.
I am betting the Pittsburgh Maulers and the Orlando Guardians to be the first two teams to come back in 2026
They cut actual USFL franchises with history to make this merger. Those teams need to be brought back first.
That’s why I have the Breakers as the 1st team coming back.
Yes! My generals!!!

Nice! I like your vision. Exciting to think about the possibilities.
@@VikingWaxPress Thanks
This idea needs lots of money … more than 30 plus teams, dunno.
Realistically I am aware it couldn't work to expand that large, the primary reason being the amount of talent required to remain at a high level of play just isn't there for that many teams, and yes, it would take the addition of very wealthy owners too.

Great suggestions but there is no chance a team in Louisville would play at Churchill Downs.
(SACK)ramento needs one because the word there in parenthesis is a football stat
The only issue I have is that the talent pool isnt deep enough to accommodate all of these teams.
Agreed. It’s too many teams but fun to consider the potential cities. About 20 teams max in the next 15 years is more realistic.
Bring back the Jacksonville Bulls. They led the USFL in attendance with over 40k per game.
Could they fill the stadium in both spring and fall though? That would be the biggest question. The Bulls didn’t have the Jags to “compete” with.
You all seem awfully confident that the league will be around in 2036
The league will be able to last until then as long as the Stallions don't go undefeated every single year winning the championship every single year
I really dislike people that propose expansion teams without taking into consideration logistics, costs, and considerations on whether there is sufficient interest for a sub-NFL team.
Good to know!
Agreed!
Sacramento Condors
San Diego = The Fleet

They're going to pay the outrageous fees that the rights-holder want for teams like the Fleet and Apollos? Also why you probably won't see any of the 2000 XFL team names as those are owned by McMahon's company.

In the 19th century, Omaha's baseball team was called the 'Omahogs'. This would be a good name.

I think Milwaukee would be a good locale as well. They Have Green Bay to the north and Chicago to the south but it’s a decent market.
Never thought about it but I like it!
Milwaukee has no adequate football stadium.
Texas has 3 teams nuff said nuff luv ❤🎉

There aren't any Redwoods in Sacramento, that would have to be a coastal city in the bay area.
True; I was just thinking they could represent No. Cal.
How about expanding the UFL west? According to this video, I don’t see a western team in the next 4-5 years.
They have to stay compact for a few seasons to keep travel costs minimized until they have a firm foundation.
Good luck.
Taking to long to go West, when Seattle is ready, Cali can carry a team. Then almost any 2 other cities to the West.
Agreed, the growth will likely be slow; rapidity will depend upon the data they get this year.
Good to know!
Love this! Everyone wants to talk expansion but honestly, if the league would last this long, this is what I think it would look like.
Thanks John! We can hope, and even if we end up with 1/2 of that growth I’ll be happy we’re still around.
@@VikingWaxPress Agreed! Hoping for the best in the short term for the UFL

I'm a UFL writer. The Maulers imo should be back in 2025. Along with the Breakers.
I hope some NFL team I hope will be encouraged to open a UFL franchise, and works similar to the NHL and AHL.
A partnership with the NFL in some capacity seems like a logical, if not tricky, conclusion.
If what they're saying is true and they'll slowly revive brands in the next couple years, here's how I'd expand the league to 20:
2025: NJ Generals & NY Guardians (both in Metlife or Red Bull Arena); Philadelphia Stars, Seattle Dragons
2026: Portland Breakers, San Diego Tomcats, Chicago Enforcers/Cyclones, Orlando Pioneers/Cougars
2030s-ish: Columbus Cardinals, San Jose Grizzlies, Milwaukee Hogs, Oklahoma City Drillers
I love the Hogs for Milwaukee - perfect!

I can’t argue with that, such a unique color-combo too.
I live in the Portland area and in 1985 I had Breakers season tickets. The Breakers were so fun with Buford Jordan running the ball! That experience made me a forever fan of spring football. It would be a crazy cool dream if the Breakers return to Portland someday.
Ive always thought it would be great to name a Portland team after both the WFL and USFL teams: the Stormbreakers
And I agree about the Hotshots. If they can they should snap up the AAF IP and bring back the Fleet, Hotshots and Apollos (and rename the Brahmas back to the Commanders- screw Washington)
Always thought the Hotshots branding rocked.
After I thought about it awhile I think Florida expansion could come sooner than I showed in my video.
Good choices for cities, can you shed some light on the reasons for some of the names like Mothmen and Punishers?

Arizona wranglers.
Great video, but my God man, those team names!! The Artifacts vs. Bowmen??? Ugh.
Oakland Invaders or Oakland Pirates.
I agree, bring back the Invaders, but they need a good stadium option 1st.
Keep it as is for at least 2 years
The main reason they wouldnt reuse the AAF name "Stallions" for a team in SLC is because its already in use in Birmingham
Ive always liked the name "Salt Lake Velocity", since theyve always used the nearby Bonneville Salt Flats for land speed record attempts
Good point, 1 Stallions team is plenty! 😂🤣
That would be cool, I love the AAF team names and colors.
I like that idea.
Thank you for giving NJ back there team.

2025 -Seattle and Canton 2026 New Orleans and Vegas 2027 OKC and Orlando/Tampa (whichever one you want)

Back The Breakers but in Portland OR
As a Portlander I love the idea, I had season tickets to the 1985 team, but I believe they will probably end up back in New Orleans.
I’d LOVE to see a team in Albuquerque!! (Note correct spelling)
Thanks for the correction; appreciate ya!
I live in the NW so I would love it if expansion this direction happens sooner rather than later.
ABQ is too small a market with a Denver team and a Phoenix team. Especially in baseball season.
I think the small untapped markets might be starving enough for pro football to make it work. 10,000 excited fans are better than 20,000 apathetic fans… because they will be loyal through thick and thin.
Seattle needs to be brought back immediately imo
Several name ideas:
Scottsdale salamanders
Atlanta aviators
Denver rockers
Canton Calvary
Oklahoma City wagoners
Louisville jazzer
I really like Atlanta Aviators- nicely done!
Arizona Scorpuons
Atlanta Silverbacks
Denver Highlanders
Ohio Bulldogs
OKC Outlaws
Louisville Colonels
Bring Back The New Orleans Breakers
Amen to that!
For Louisville relocate the stallions there and then rebrand Birmingham to something else
That's actually not a bad idea, but I would go with a different breed of horse to be honest and leave the stallions alone.
If It had to be a horse mascot, it would absolutely have to be the Thoroughbreds but I kind of like the Louisville Legends as kind of a tribute to the original Louisville legend Mohammed Ali.
@billyd.1872 thunderhorse from metalocalypse
The Billings Rimrocks (Montana)
Good name. Does Billings have a domed arena?
For Vegas I like the name "Aces Wild", except Mark Davis wouldnt allow that because his WNBA team is the Aces
Las Vegas outlaws..🌵🍺
Las Vegas should be the Gamblers since that is where most of the gambling is done. I do like the Vipers as well.
That would be fitting.
There needs to be a team in Oakland.
Way too negative my man. I choose hope over league death talk.
My only criticism is no way do I want to wait until 2036 for my generals to come back! Lol. The generals and stars need to be the first ones back
MINNESOTA MASTODONS
That is a GREAT name!
Minnesota Steamrollers
They have to bring back the Chicago Enforcers
Indianapolis needs a team, when do you think they will get a team? What about the Indiana Firebirds unless they bring back the Arena Football League and give Indiana a team and bring back the Firebirds to Indiana and have them play in Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse again, then I think they should call them either : Indy Turbo, Indy Twisters or Indy Racers or Indy Dream or Indy Allstars. What do you think their team name should?
I like the Racers name.
Louisville muggers
Feel like maybe move the old muller to SC and change the name Maulers. To Myrtle Beach tiedel wave sc Beach south carliona clan Rebels or Turtles.
Or keep both pittsbrugh teams and instead of a team in gerogia but a team in SC and have the team at Coastal carliona because the stadium right now fits the need of the capacity of a crowd then if it fan base grows then bulid or move to Columbia or Greenville. Where Clemson plays in death valley
I like Turtles as a team name.
I'm hoping a team comes to North Carolina. I thought I'd have fun and come up with some unique-ish state-appropriate names:
Army Frogs
Aviators
Cylinders
Hounds
Stone Masons
Swarm
What do you guys think? Should I be banned from all naming contests henceforth?
Hack no! I love the Stone Masons especially.
@@VikingWaxPressPhew! I like Stone Masons too. It has a rough, blue-collar feel. Though, I think you're right that there isn't as strong of a market in NC as other places, particularly during March Madness. But there isn't any baseball teams to compete with and the Hornets suck.
I hope south carolina get a team
That would be cool. 👍
i would call Salt Lake -Lake monster's
All those who say no to New Orleans
Learn your role and don't be a fool.
New Orleans is my #1 pick for expansion. Bring back the Breakers!
Chicago blitz louisville Redbirds San Diego fleet old aaf team name Minnesota wrecking crew Arizona wranglers sal lake city saints New Mexico 18s canton legand orando apollos
It would be awesome to have the Wranglers back in AZ. Best pants of any uniform ever.
That is VERY interesting!
@@SharkMako No way the Guardians can play at Metlife Stadium. They failed there already. 12,000 fans at a Stadium that holds 82,500.
Nashville Tuners? Ugh. Please no.
They already submitted a patent claim for that name so it may be inevitable.
@@VikingWaxPressthey have a few patented names and I doubt they will use all of them ...maybe they see this and repent...Nashville Blues, Nashville Express.....
@@stevangarcia9946 how about something musical but cooler sounding, like the Nashville Dobros, or Nashville Hitmakers.
@@VikingWaxPress Nashville Blues is musical patna...
Nashville Stone Cold Jams lol!
UFL football indianapolis
If they could get enough Colts fans who want to watch football in the spring I would go for that idea.
Great Throwback Music! Theme from "This is the USFL"! One of the only BASIC programs I wrote on my TI99/4A was that which would play this theme song!
Awesome! Yep, I loved “This is the USFL” and still rewatch it every now and then on TH-cam when I am feeling nostalgic.
Canton is too small...Ohio Bulldogs out of Columbus bigger fan base....Cleveland n Cincinnati having to join in on the fanship...
I would be OK with Columbus but I like Canton as a destination place for football fans + they deserve a chance since they supported 2 USFL hub teams in 2023.
I would love to see ABQ to get a team. New Mexico is wanting a football team and not just our IFL gladiators even though we love em
I also believe that Seattle will be one of the first expansions due to everyone loving the sea dragons in 2020 before shutting down. It also just makes sense they get a team before Albuquerque
I agree, I think ABQ is an untapped market that needs a chance.
@@VikingWaxPress I appreciate the confidence. Keep up the good work. Any other sports expansions you would like to see? Might be a good video in the future

Great list, the only one I am not sure about is Vegas since they had such a bad experience there the 1st time around.
@@VikingWaxPress I think the Vipers should play in Vegas they could play at Sam Boyd Stadium
@jaycethefordguy I've heard Redbird Capital might buy that stadium, if so it would make sense to put a team there.
@@VikingWaxPress so it would make sense to bring back the Vegas Vipers
@jaycethefordguy 100% in that case.
