If the Omaha helmets weren't black logo on black shell they would've scored better for sure. I suppose it's hard to get away from black when you are called the Nighthawks. I do like the sense of speed they provide. Glad we agree on the Tuskers at least!
@@samjimenez I know what you mean about the mini helmets! I considered starting a collection of them until I saw the prices on some of the more obscure ones I want and decided I’d like to retire someday instead 🤣. Thanks for the encouragement on the videos, I appreciate it!
I would watch this league after teaching a night class. The funny thing I recall was the refs wearing red & black. I’d always forget & wonder, “Why is that man wandering through the action?”
I actually really enjoyed the UFL and was bummed when they folded. I knew many who had come around to liking them right before they folded. I know my first thought is that they shoulda been patient but I also know it is hard to be patient when you’re hemorrhaging money.
On the Omaha team, that's not a silhouette of the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber. But rather fittingly, it's actually the silhouette of an F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter. The F-117 Nighthawk and the B-2 Spirit are often mixed up
The fact that the league used one design team to create all of their designs is unique among leagues, and that continuity shows through. I agree with you on the Florida helmet, it is one of the best ever.
Both the Destroyers, Mountain Lions emblems (not S shape), one with the S filled in (alternate) way to "small." Shell colors, could have helped example very light chalky grey, Destroyers and candied metallic burnt orange, Mountain Lions. Large emblems both sides. Seen both teams in person in Omaha
One of the categories I found telling during the review process was 'use of space'; I was surprised how many teams use a logo that could have increased the legibility of the logo if they had just increased the size of the logo on the helmet. It made me appreciate the teams who did use the full helmet to increase the visibility of the brand.
It's a good thing that these designs are all garish crap because it would be a shame if an actual good design had to vanish into obscurity like they all will.
Enjoy the videos and appreciate all the research you must have to do to bring us this information.
Thank you! The research was daunting but it was precisely the kind of thing a football nerd like me enjoys doing as a hobby. I appreciate the support!
Agreed on the Tuskers. That whole combo was excellent. Great video (although my feelings are hurt on your Omaha ranking. Those were my favorite 🤣)

These helmet videos are so interesting. 👌🏼 trying to get usfl or xfl mini helmets for a collection is quite expensive! 😳

I did drive up to CT & dragged my friend to a Hartford game
Haha, that is hilarious! Red & black are an odd color combo for refs.

True, as a low/middle class American I can't even begin to imagine what its like losing millions of dollars every year.

Good to know! Thanks for watching and gifting me some knowledge - I appreciate all I can get!
Most of the center stripes work well across the board. The only helmet I can fully get behind is the Florida Huskers, which is very cool.

Tuskers FTW. The snout makes it.
Totally! The tusks down by the chin are great too. One of my top 10 helmets of all time!
I think the Hartford H is made of eagle wings
Ahh, I didn't notice the eagle head in between the wings until now. Good call-out, thanks for the heads up!
Virginia helmet doesn’t match the jerseys at all and I hate it
Yeah, I agree, they did not reach potential with that one.
I personally agree, the color scheme and emblem is great if you look at it up close.@@VikingWaxPress
Agreed, I can never afford to sit up close though, Lol!
