After a 35 year break I finally decided to get back into N scale with a 3' x 8' layout. I've been soldering and building models for decades and considered Fast Tracks, but chickened out and bought Atlas code 55 turnouts instead. Now that all of the track is down, I wish I had taken the time to make my own. From a distance the Atlas turnouts look good, but up close the cast frogs and guard rails look rough. Also, some of the turnouts have continuity issues and will need jumpers. Love your work! Liked and subbed.
Time for a hand laid extension or new fiddle yard? I'm slowly adding my jigs to Thingiverse. Will put the straights and curves in the next weeks. Just designing the ends standardized so all pieces will fit together without any special fitting. Fast Tracks are great jigs, but shipping into EU is real expensive. Plus I've made the curves I need, not those they sell. The #2 Wye for example...
