Amd's dx11 driver was awful as for there push to mantel. Dx12/vulken are lower level and can make use of async compute making better use of the gcn uarch. Much like Intel I believe amd is now wrapping dx11older to a different api in some of the very new drivers.(dxnavi)
What a great card! I bought a used R9 290 in 2014 and had a blast with it till 2019 (for such a long span). At the time I was thinking like who on earth would ever need 4Gb of VRAM lol Thanks for review bro!!!
And now I'm like should have got the sapphire 8gb version. You can flash the 390 memory controller improvements and you can tighten the ram straps as well, what a fun card to own.
Great video! Was using this card since 2017 until recently. By the way for Alan Wake 2 you could try a frame gen mod that boost the fps to like 30, i was able to play the first 25 minutes of the game like that. Note that i was using a 1366x768 monitor so that could be another factor
Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked my video! I hope you subscribe and like it! 😃Perhaps, yes, it would be worth trying to run alan wake with a frame generator. Some other users recommended trying the Vulkan mod, in which you can get more than 30 frames.
If you use Linux, sure. AMD completely crippled the windows drivers and refused to implement the FSR and Rebar features. I have a GCN laptop, and the drivers are unusable. The modded drivers BREAK power saving and crossfire, and do NOT document any of the features or offer a proper UNINSTALLER. They make tweaks in Windows outside of the driver, and refuse to address problems they cause. The mod support has also stopped from LAST YEAR. Linux is the ONLY CHOICE for these older cards. Especially because all the features work and include optimization.
Yea the modded drivers arn't perfect. (Vr is broken on the 23.x builds so I'm running 22.10 but ulps is a toggle when going though the cli installer and you can also choose amd defaults instead of the tweaked settings. On the Uninstaller you should always use ddu, I have never had a issue going back to stock from the modded driver. I also haven't had much success with crossfire since my 6950's and the battlefield 3/skyrim era.
@@andrewmcewan9145 You can't use DDU, because the driver makes tweaks OUTSIDE of AMD, directly changing windows. He's making permanent changes to hidden settings in Windows with no documentation. There is NO uninstaller or change log. You are completely screwed if you install the tweaked version. The Dev has laughed at people in the forums asking for help, because his driver screwed up their windows, and refuses to document anything. My only solution to this would be running something like revo uninstaller to monitor his install and revert back. There is no native way to fix it. The best case the driver adds is halo infinite support, and unlocked control panel for mobile users. Other than that, considering windows 11, it's time for Linux. I would recommend CachyOS for the most optimization. Linux has it's own problems, but you will get native support, faster speed, and actual updates. The worst stuff is generally video encoding support, but there's several apps for that. It just runs differently, and you have to learn a different work flow. Dx12 games can also have worse optimization, but it's not like these older cards could handle new games anyway. So it generally works better at everything it should already do.

It's interesting how this manages to run newer games better than the old ones.
FSR technology helps to increase FPS. Therefore, new games sometimes go better.

I would like to know what processor CPU you are using and if you are recording and playing at the same PC

I loved my 270x lol Think I also owned a 380x............things shaders went up in fire.
I remember my old r9 285 gigabyte which today is a very rare GPU
VERY GOOD VIDEO WOW, NICE EDITING AND STORYTELLING

Great video man :D
Thanks!
Yo should i buy a GTX 1080 Ti for 150€ or RTX 3070 for 220€ Both are from Ebay and are used.
Better take the RTX 3070. GTX 1080 ti is already extremely old. You can only take it for the collection!
Ok thanks!@@livegamesii
bro kindly make a video on installing the modded drivers
Bro, this is not difficult to do! Just download the Radeon ID archive and choose which driver you need.
@@livegamesii i tried a lot of time but it gives a fetal error or does not install
@@livegamesii i have windows 11 should i try on window 10
what is the bgm used in the beginning of the video bro?
