they were literally screaming SAVE OUR SOULS 😂😂
I guess I'll have to finally get my daughter one.
aaaand this marketing stunt has succeeded. if you wanna get this for your daughter, that's cool, but an iphone app is not gonna teach your daughter the bushcraft, survival, and preparedness skills required to a be confident and capable hiker.
Or just get a sos beacon. That'll have a stronger antenna
@@Junispro31 orr just get an iPhone 14 that can do that job well enough to work. i get it, its annoying to see a company winning as much as apple. but instead take notes and start you're own tec company. ill buy your first devices lol
@@Billionsシ For people who already have a phone there is no point just getting one for the sos feature when you can buy a sos beacon for 500 dollars less
Well that iPhone 14 paid himself
Apple should congratulate these 10 hikers
who thinks that apple themselves made the kids lost their way
even saving one life was enough to invest millions in this feature. good job apple!
And THIS is why it shouldn’t be a subscription service after 2 years.
Why do I feel that these teenagers just YOLO'd into the canyon because they know they had that feature to try out lol
Great Apple promo. Kudos to Apple for including this feature
They probably would've got out eventually, they just got rescued earlier
Ive been to those mountains. Super easy trail, these teenagers were in no danger to begin with. None of them probably brought a flashlight or anything of the sort and just panicked.
Sales of iPhone 14 just jumped! Why can’t this feature be on all cell phones?
I do believe that T-Mobile has this in the works and they are working with android phones. I could be wrong but that is what I remember.
The technology is fairly new
@Christopher Todd Since it only works when you have no mobile coverage, it would have nothing to do with the mobile service provider unless they are having their own Androids manafactured. The Satellite transceiver would need to be built into the phone. Pretty sure though it will be across most brands in the next year or so.
It's not possible without the satellite antenna
@@auscop I replied with a link to an ars techinica (sp) article but for some reason the link failed to post. So instead I will paste the article title and you can look it up.
“Starlink/T-Mobile plan for satellite-to-phone service to get boost from FCC”
What I forgot was that starlink was their partner. I remembered it because they made the announcement something like a day or a week before apple’s keynote where they announced this service.
This just feel like I want to upgrade my phone to the I phone 14 because if that feature, I currently have a iPhone 11 promax, and it’s still running ok I can say? Because it’s shutting down and turning off by its self and freezing on me. I might consider getting one or I’m think to wait till the I phone 15 is out.
Wait until the 15 comes out in September so you can upgrade. It's what's best + you don't miss out on some cool new features rumored for it
"Anybody bring a map?"
"Wut? I think my grandpa showed me one of those once."
Okay, I'm gonna try this feature soon. Perhaps my family still care about me.
Free advertising for Apple! Well done
its the 5 month again, yay
Finally someone actually used the feature 😂
just so everyone understands, using the SOS feature could cost you $50,000 to $250,000 depending on whether or not they use a helicopter.
Please explain…
not the feature itself, but if you decide you need those rescue efforts then yes
Good thing I have a lot of friend using the iPhone because I use a legendary Sony Xperia 1
I'm going to buy iphone soon
Love this ♥
Slaughter! If you shoot at him, brother, you better not miss!
Too poor to affford this feature,
And then it happened in Ventura, that’s a crazy coincidence
Maybe apple paid them to get lost on purpose and use the feature
Its a shame this cool feature is not available in Asia
1:53 “New technology with old-fashioned common sense” 😐
Apple just got a customer for life.
This feature is only available for iPhone 14 models.
And your point? It’s a hardware feature. Not software.
Satellite more powerful than cell tower
So when you're near me, darling
Can't you hear me, S.O.S.?
ABBA ❤❤❤
Apple's PR team is really top tier.
Cool
Is this an ad by Apple so people would start *paying* for this feature? lol
How did they get lost, the gps works on the phones without the need of cell service... , Im kinda confused here...
i only hike in botanical gardens very safe.
Most phones have this
This is the reason apple is the world's largest company.
This Was a stunt by Apple.
Is this paid ad by apple?
Most likely
Useful feature that comes in handy=advert
If something like this happened with Samsung, you would be chill about it.
remembering when yt was new, i kept noticing that most top creators appearing on the most viewed page, sitting there with their laptops, kept appearing with laptops arranged about the same way, with logo very visible. i just felt it was too improbable all of them thought of doing it exactly the same way. there was a rare opportunity for me to ask a creator if apple offered them anything or instructed them to do that. he answered me, and said yes. my comment disappeared within the hour. it was roughly about 2007 2008
