It's not too much. Some color is perfect for the season. I have not seen a carbon fiber case and automatic movement available at this RRP. For the price they nailed the assignment. Tissot seems driven to provide elements of the entire market in high value packages and that is commendable. They even have pocket watches! I dismissed the Sideral because I just got my wishlist settled, but it deserves another look.

His only complaint was the lume on the hands was not as bright as he would like, but stated the lume on the bezel was solid. I intend to buy the blue at some point and love the blue integrated into the carbon. I think it's a solid value and I thought the vintage Sideral S models (particularly in yellow) were cool. One thing to address the over boldness is Tissot does already off additional straps in colours not on the 3 models already, including black. That would tone it down a bit on wrist if so desired. There is even a green strap, which might pair nicely with some of the dials.

I own the Yellow Sideral. It's bold, brass and beautiful. It is unconventional and original compared to other 300m dive watches on the market today. It's a must buy for those of use who march to the beat of a different drummer.

It harks back to a time when designs dared to be bold… I had a purple Chopper bicycle, our clothes and music would sear our parents’ senses, and Lamborghinis were orange and lime. I still own a number of Seikos from my youth that prove the point shockingly🤪. This Tissot is already on my shopping list… not for me (I am 65 years old, after all); but for my daughter… a perfectly reincarnated child of the 70s in her bell-bottoms, tie-died tees and braided hair. She quickly brought it to my attention as wanting it for her first watch... a dad’s privilege in those days. I am so proud of her! 😂
Very nice, playful, beach season, rather meant for younger folk type of watch. I am over 65 and still like the one with red and with the blue colorways.
i love the colours and its the best thing about the design for me - it is perfect for summer! You can also change the straps to other colours or if want to dress down.

Looks like a fab summer watch Pulls from a lot of late 60s early 70s innovative trends , I like it a lot , has fantastic specs ,awesome movement , great design cues and it's very " European" I do enjoy the watch , and my opinion is "NO" Tissot are on point with this watch , they have gave us a fun bright sunny watch at first glance frivolous but at its heart , it can really rock . And it also has a fantastic horology/ astronomy link in its name ...as the time period for Earth to rotate 360°, relative to the distant stars, is called the sidereal day and is 23h 56m 04s of a solar day. This is about 4 minutes less than the solar day. Yes im a bit of an astro geek 🤓
There is extras straps to buy. I bought a tissot black rubber that is equal the yellow, just change de colour. If I wanna to be more discreet, i just change the strap
I think the watch would loose it’s luster without the colorful strap. I am so tempted to buy one. I just hate buying a watch without seeing it in person first and trying it on. Need to find a dealer that has one in stock.

Great watch. Strap is very comfortable. Lume on the bezel is great but is horrible on the hands and face. Not sure how you got yours to show up as it has. I have the yellow watch.
I’m considering the red version as the dial is more classic and least likely to date. Then put the black or green version on it. I think many will like this combo and may consider getting it if you thought the yellow and blue were “too” busy”.
Great review! I have the blue version and you hit the strap issue right in the head. I would love it if they came out with black rubber strap for it.....but Interestingly enough I tried something else and it really hits! If you pair it with a mesh shark bracelet (saw photos of one of the original sideral versions of the 70's) it looks fantastic! It plays against the metal ring and the crown on the watch..... making it look more formal. J happened to have this band on my visodate so it paired very naturally.
It’s great that Tissot are trying different things and I tried this on recently, but I really disliked the strap. I know that can be changed, but it just generally turned me off the watch
I prefer Doxa's new modern looking sleeker Carbon Case Diver BUT!!! Damn good vintage sporty design with cheerfull colors..as an affordable brand love Tissot and their innovations, respectably so.....As always.
The only issue with this watch is the way you fasten it. It’s weird and a bit fiddly. What’s wrong with the old way of doing up a strap? Colour is great in person though
I must admit, I'm usually a fan of Tissot, but this watch does nothing for me. I think it's a little big and a little thick for the style. I can't help but think that a smaller, thinner, less expensive quartz version would work better here. It's very expensive in Australia for some reason, too expensive for what it is imo. Unfortunately a pass. The PRX, Gentleman, etc, all great value and punch above their weight....this watch not so much.

I'm not a big fan of the strap. Not because of the color, but rather because of the way the connecting mechanism flares out at the end. But, replacing the strap is pretty easy and inexpensive. It would cost less than $20 to get a nato strap, for example. For me, I wish the watch went all in on being colorful. For example, I'd love to see the yellow and red variants have dials that were predominantly yellow and red. I'd also love to see it be primarily a dive watch and get rid of the regatta timer stuff that only a very small number of people are going to use. To me, this one falls in the intriguing and nice to look at on TH-cam category, but not something that I'm tempted to buy.
Powermatic 80 movement is...disposable trash. So the value proposition doesn't stack up for me. Otherwise, I'd buy the Sideral as it looks cool and eye catching.
