despite how similar they are, hiei is actually more chill and well-adjusted than sasuke. he doesn't tell yukina, his sister, that he is her brother because he feels that she doesn't deserve to have a murderous guy like him as her brother and just resolves to watch over her. he also has a strict honor code: once he agrees to work with someone, he won't betray or abandon them until the mission is finished.

Honestly as much as I love Sasuke, especially when he became less of an a-hole, I gotta say I agree with the results. Like I don't know Hiei well at all. But the biggest advantage Sasuke has a lot of the time is the fact his visual prowess is next level in Naruto. Also that if I recall, not many people can just resist lightening and Inferno style without some sort of protection in the show. Hiei resists both really well.
I'd say this battles is bs(so many Death Battles are...), to quote some guy on Reddit "they scale the fighters to their rivals, but when it comes to Sasuke who has actual shown feats of being more hardy, fast and strong they get away with no showing anything Hiei did at the same caliber. And then finally they remark a huge “explosion” Yusuke did as evidence to scaled power, that somehow didn’t obliterate the surrounding landscape. For one, Hiei never showed he can match that power, and two that “explosion” may have been more light based that an actual destination of energy.", Not only that but, Hiei gets killed by Sasuke before he even realizes where he is, the difference from a possible lightning timer to a guy that scales to someone that dodged a light attack point blank is huge. Completely agree. They honestly left out some of hieis advantages. The dude healed from a hand through the stomach like it was nothing. And that's when he was a c/b class. He later cut off his own arm to win a fight then just reattached it. He's seen at the end of the series dodging light attacks and tanking dimension slicing slashes. Sasuke's powerful but he's a glass cannon and always running out of chakra.
Hey, Naruto has a pretty powerful healing ability too, he healed from a lighting hand to the CHEST. Oh, wait.... Sasuke's literally never defeated him in a full on fight.

Not saying he should had won but feels like he wasn't used to his full potential. - Just to clarify Itachi's goal, he wanted to motivate Sasuke to kill him so he would be considered a hero as the ninja who avenged the Uchiha Clan. Cause the rest of the village outside the higher ups had no clue the clan where planning a coup d'etat and as far a they knew they though Itachi was just some psycho who murdered his entire family. Duck, you’d be surprised how chill people were with this result. Many Naruto fans who are staunch Sasuke stans actually agree with the outcome. Sasuke has way more techniques, versatility, far greater speed and is comparable to both Madara and Naruto at the end of the series. But it matters very little when Hiei. Hiei was way more durable than Sasuke who could match blows from Yusuke who’s punches are enough to shake the planet at 50% of his strength. Plus his own power eclipses Sasukes tenfold. I know you are all about speed, and in most cases speed is the most assured way to win most fights. But when the difference in power and durability is as apparent as night and day, speed is a non factor at that point. Don’t worry though, you are getting into the seasons where Speedsters will rule the videos for a while. Some you may recognise, others you might not. Either way, stay tuned. I’m more of a Hiei fan since I grew up with Yu Yu Hakasho, but I have watched all of Naruto and read the whole manga. Even watched the dreadful cash grab movies. So I can say without a doubt, that this result is accurate when it comes to winning the majority fight. Yes, Sasuke can definitely pull multiple wins. If Hiei’s mental defenders are laxed then Sasuke can just scramble his brain with Tsukuyomi. Or trap him in a never ending loop with Izanami since he learned it from Itachi. Hiei will have a very hard time breaking out of both. But, winning 49 times out of 100 doesn’t put him over Hiei. Cause he has the 51 majority wins. Simple as that my friend.

You know, it’s kind of sad. Despite not actually watching the series, I’ve been growing quite attached to Naruto characters in Death Battle. Not because of power or anything. Rather it’s because they tend to be clever and strategic because of their arsenal of powers. And I really like smart fighters. Unfortunately, Hiei had the defenses needed to counter Sausuke’s tricks and the power to out muscle him, both offensively and defensively.

Ganondorf is from the Legend of Zelda and that iteration of Dracula is from Castlevania. So unless you're planning to play either game series or react to the Castlevania show, it should be fine to watch
Okay. Couple of things. One, this battle is actually pretty agreed upon. The only people who argue against this fight is people who haven't seen Yu Yu Hakusho. (Side note, Yu Yu Hakusho is my favorite anime of all time so I already knew Hiei was set to win) Two, Sasuke was actually created as an inspiration of Hiei. A copy can never match the original unfortunately for Naruto fans. Three, yes in 700+ episodes of Naruto things make a bit more sense in context but the last 8th of the story does go a bit wack. Four, it's easy to handle words in other languages by breaking it down into syllables. For example, Yu Yu Ha-Ku-Sho and Hi-Ei. Five, Hiei is the only character who can say he's had the fewest losses in the show. Only two come immediately to mind. Six, it feels very Dragonball because it aired around the same time frame. I highly recommend as it's only 4 seasons. It has the absolute best dub and some great iconic moments.
I think at one point you said that you'd be playing a Zelda game in the future so perhaps that's why it was left out. And this Death Battle (Ganondorph vs Dracula) is the first Death Battle DevilArtemis has animated for the series

Itachi killed whole Uchiha Clan becouse the were Bunch of a-holes, and kinda a badguys, becouse Sasuke back then was still a kid and he didn't know the truth about his family. Itachi wanted Peace but the rest of the clan wanted to overthrow the Leaf Village, also Itachi didn't wanted, Sasuke to end up like the rest of the clan. So he killed the whole Uchiha Clan, exept for himself and Sasuke, and the reason why Itachi wanted for Sasuke to know the he's responsible. The reason why, is becouse Itachi wanted Sasuke to become strong and punish the injustice, He literally said to his brother, "If you wanna kill me, you must become stronger". Itachi wanted Sasuke to become a New Age in Uchiha's Clan history, where the Next Generation will be good and even better. So in short Itachi is actually plot twist good guy. It like that saying, *"Road to hell is paved with good intentions."*
I may be biased because I did enjoy Naruto, but man Sasuke got done dirty, and I can say that as someone that really doesn't like him at all. With his level of speed and reactions (his sharinghan especially makes his reaction time kinda BS) there were dozens of things they seemed to just forget he could do (shadow clones, substitution jutsu away from lethal attacks, etc.) Also its kind of weird that they always use the blanket term 'mental resistance' to counter the Genjutsu from his eyes. Its a super high level ability for a reason you don't just sneeze and break out of it. On the other hand, I'm always happy to see sasuke get beat up. so woo go Hiei! You're lucky it wasn't Itachi that man would fuck you right up!
I don’t know about black fire but fire does change colors depending on what’s burning. For example: Copper produces green fire, potassium makes purple fire, and fire burning in a place with little atmosphere is blue and umbrella shaped.

The sharingan is one of the most op things in anime, its the definition on anime BS Also in Naruto there are 5 elements Fire,Water, Earth,Lightning,Wind as well as Yin and Yang release Everyone has a natural affinity to any of the first 5, The Uchiha clan has Fire and Lightning and Naruto has Wind You can get multiple elements as you get older and get access to kekki genkai which is combining different elements to make a new one aka Fire+Earth= Magma release, Wind+Water=Ice Also 6 paths powers give access to yin-yang release which is just plain broken (correct me if im wrong, its been a while since ive watched Naruto)

Some people have probably already mentioned this, but spoilers aren't a really big concern for Legend of Zelda games, especially since there are so many games, many of which take place in different timelines, giving them dubious continuity AT BEST. It would be like skipping Kirby vs Majin Buu because you wanted to avoid spoilers. Also, even if you skip Ganondorf vs. Dracula (which I hope you don't because it's a good fight) you still have one more episode before Deadpool vs The Mask: Mob vs Tatsumaki.

I think When a Mangekyo sharingan user goes blind, it’s permanent until they swap eyes with another Mangekyo sharingan user and/or get the eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. Which is what Sasuke did. Eternal takes away the downsides and probably lessens the chakra cost a bit.

I understand where they're coming from with this battle. Results make sense to me, but, this another one where a lot of fans of a franchise were not happy with it.

You should watch Ganondorf Vs Dracula. Its a frikkin sweet fight, the first to use SFM, and frankly Legend of Zelda you don't really need to worry about spoilers.
I love both characters, and I love both series, but Sasuke was done dirty. They also messed up Hiei as well. They were going off of feats mostly from Naruto and Yusuke instead of using their own. Why did they forget that Sasuke destroyed a meteor capable of destroying a village with just a chidori or using kirin to destroy a mountain? Why did they forget that Hiei's Dragon of Darkness Flame nearly destroyed the Dark Stadium? Hiei resisting Sharingan genjutsu just because he broke a simple illusion once is a no-limits fallacy. Sharingan genjutsu is shown to be no ordinary genjutsu. That's why Kakashi, even with a sharingan, can't break out of Itachi's tsukuyomi. They didn't show Sasuke using any Rinnegan abilities in the fight. What was to stop him from teleporting Hiei into one the dimensions? Hiei does not scale to Yusuke. Their reasoning is because of their fight in the Chapter Black saga? It wasn't even a real fight. It was simple H2H. Yusuke was tired from fighting the Sniper. Not to mention, Yusuke already gained Upper-S Class when fighting Sensui when going Raizen form, while Hiei only became Upper-S class EOS. Hiei got his ass beat by Mukuro while Yusuke tied with Yomi. And the Three Kings are said to be equal in power. Sasuke does scale to Naruto because Kishimoto says they're equal EOS. About the DODF, even if Hiei got better control of the DODF, doesn't he have to go through a long period of hibernation? He was abusing that shit in the battle. I can't say if or sure who would win, but they got a lot of things wrong. Also, your reasoning for withstanding chidori is because he is resistant to fire and ice? So just because he survived a lighting attack once, that makes him immune to all other lightning attacks? Another no-limits fallacy
I feel like they downplayed Sauske and his abilities a bit. Not sure if the result would be any different, but I feel like they took more time to explain Hiei and his abilities and gave more of their guesses than they did with Sauske. Like for one thing they never mentioned the sword that they were using for Sauske has the ability to where you can't block aginst it. Like if you had a shield and put it up the sword would go through it without breaking the shield. Or with the Amaterasu (black flame) it dosen't just burn the sun.. it would destroy the sun if it was on it,, because it can bur anything an will not go away until whatever it's on is ash, unless you can absorb jutsu. Again not sure if the fight would be different. Honestly I don't think it would, but they could've done a better explanation with Sauske.

Yu yu hakusho was an anime that came out around the same time as dbz. Fans can tell you that this was as good or better than dbz, but it’s short run prevented it from dethroning dbz.
It's such a shame that you're skipping Ganondorf Vs. Dracula, considering that it's, hands down, the BEST Death Battle of this season. Honestly, most of the battles that you've skipped for spoilers (Snake Vs. Sam Fisher, Wolverine Vs. Raiden, Lara Croft Vs. Nathan Drake, Jotaro Vs. Kenshiro, Samurai Jack Vs. Afro Samurai) tend to be among the best Death Battles of their seasons, and that trend is only going to continue into later seasons. You've gotta hurry up and get into more stuff so you can go back and watch those episodes sooner.
I love this episode, it was previously my 5th favorite. But after Dio VS Alucard & Madara VS Aizen came out this one got lowered to 7th favorite. Also Sasuke was inspired by Hiei. Ganon VS Dracula is also awesome, it is actually my 6th favorite. Also it is specific Dracula from the Castlevania franchise.
I find it strange that Hiei beats Sasuke, who is equal to Naruto, but they have Ichigo lose to Naruto despite the fact that Bleach characters are much stronger than Yu Yu Hakusho characters.
@@asasassify, I believe I can determine for myself the power level of the characters in the shows I have seen. While I have not gotten far into Naruto, I am quite familiar with Bleach and Yu Yu Hakusho. And from what I have seen, the feats of Yusuke are not on the level of Ichigo (who is theoretically the most powerful character in Bleach). So if they put Ichigo below Naruto, and Sasuke below Hiei, then I find it very strange.
Demon World or Hell, where Yusuke and Hiei have their fights, is 10xs more durable than the planet Earth. Think about that. That's why things don't look as impressive at first glance.
They heavily downplayed Sasuke's speed and really underestimated his attack potency. Sasuke scales to Naruto who can destroy planets, yes but also fight comparable to Kaguya whom can destroy dimensions with stars in it. He doesn't really need attack potency though, Naruto is could blitz please whom move x96 the speed of light. This is in a significantly weaker form with less chakra. He got many times stronger afterwards. Sidenote: They love bringing up the Toneri's moon slicing but forget that a group of 100 random joinin ninja were going shoot a beam powered by their chakra to destroy the moon. Naruto has hundreds of times more chakra than them. AND he casually tanked the moon slice, besides that he actually reverted to base form and powered a single punch which obliterated Toneri. What I'm trying to say this is all casual and Toneri didn't even fight Naruto in his most powerful form. P. S. If you're planning on doing Legend of Zelda stuff, then yeah, you'd have to miss out on Ganondorf vs Dracula, which sucks cause it's easily the best Zelda fight so far. (Edit: okay, never mind, I thought you were skipping them on purpose for spoiler protection, but hell yeah! Get hyped for some high quality DB next time) Also, Mob vs Tastumaki, the episode after that, may have been left out thanks to some stuff in the OPM manga that wasn't adapted or you weren't reacting to. Essentially itachi was super wise and intelligent and didn't want to have his clan start anymore conflict in the village and so he believed as a penance for what he did he believed that seeing saksue go through the same pain he went through and allowing him to kill him would allow him to become even greater than he was although his plan backfired when saskue swore vengeance. Also fun fact itachi was dying from a terminal illness at the time and was super wekaned yet even still because he didn't actually try to fight saskue fully he was severely injured and was said that he could have killed saskue whenever he wanted even in the end saskue didn't kill him itachi just finally succumbed to the illness
Honestly here's the updated States ( keep in mind I'm not saying death battle got everything wrong it's just they weren't using the right feats and this is from the Madara v Lord Aizen fight and some other math but don't worry I'm keeping it short ) Speed : Hiei quite a bit as early in the series the spirit gun is shown to move at light speed and he dodged it relatively early on the series Endurance : Hiei not that Sasuke hasn't survived bad shut happening to him but Hiei has survived worst injuries ( this isn't durability but how bad a character can get there ass beat e.g stabbing or losing limbs ) Skills ( and techniques ) : Sasuke got this like there are alot of things he and those eyes can do that people ( and series ) forgot ( like making a fucking soul dragon or repairing all damage done by jumping in the King of hell's mouth ) Power : Sasuke as he's shown the power to fight on par people stronger than kaguya like kenshiki and momoshiki who are all large planet ( star level but only with the expansive truth seeking orb with is a hax so it shouldn't count ) Hax abilities is tricky as both have alot of attacks that cancel each other's as they stated so let's instead look at win condition for each Sasuke win conditions are to damage Hiei with massive AOE attacks because like I said he's faster so just destroy everything is probably a good idea Hiei again Sasuke's got less endurance so land a critical hit fast ( a stab though the heart or brain ) because he doesn't have a healing factor but he does have the king or hell so make sure he's dead or your dead If you want more details ask I tried to condense and not spoil anything ( probably fucked up with both but eh )
Before I start, I want to make it clear the animation and music for this episode are amazing. Also, these debates are inherently subjective. But since Death Battle tries to take an objective lens, it must be judged with an objective perspective as well. With that being said: I’m not going to write an essay on why this episode is a complete insult to Naruto fans (trust me, I could), but let it be known Hiei stands absolutely no fucking chance against Sasuke. Death Battle’s current calcs for Naruto put Sasuke far above Hiei. Even ones around when this episode show he’s far superior. They completely misrepresented most of Sasuke’s abilities, while ludicrously overestimating Hiei’s strength. He has no answer for most of Sasuke’s attacks. This is by far one of the least accurate episodes they’ve ever made (given when it was made, I’m not counting way older episodes that had less budget and research). I’m not going to say people are dumb just for agreeing with this episode, but many seem to attack those who think Sasuke should win. For that reason, while I understand why some like this episode, it’s one of my least favorites in the entire show. If you disagree that’s fine, but I really just wanted to vent lol
I'm not entirely sure weather you should watch the next one, on one hand it is a legend of Zelda character, but the parts of his story they bring up are from the older stuff, that's also where pretty much all his feats are from. I know you're planning on playing Breath of the Wild, and that game has very little relevance in this episode, only a few clips from that game are shown but that's pretty much it. So maybe it's okay to watch it? I mean it would be a bummer for you to skip the first episode on this show where Devilartimus animates the fight. I'll just let you decide whether to watch it or not.

There's ONE thing they get wrong, and it's regarding Sasuke's ability to absorb attacks. They claim he can only absorb CHAKRA but this is not true, the technique he uses to absorb attacks has absorbed energies aside from chakra, it's called Nature Energy. Going by established rules, he can absorb any elemental attack that is not natural, so if Katara went at him with water bending he couldn't do anything cause she's just moving real water. If Zuko shot a fireball at him though, that's energy he can absorb. This, doesn't really change the outcome of the fight though. Hiei is outright IMMUNE to fire, AND he can counter mental attacks. He's VERY fast and unlike him, Sasuke is not IMMUNE to fire, he's not even immune to just, being stabbed. His strengths come in avoiding getting stabbed, not flexing his abs and snapping the sword. With how crazy Hiei is, just shaking the PLANET with his power? Yeah, Sasuke takes the L on this one. It would be a tough fight for Hiei, cause Sasuke is VERY talented in fighting and has VERY tricky abilities. However I think more often than not Sasuke would lose. Another small thing they mention in one of the info cards that Sasuke doesn't scale to Kaguya's planet busting attack. This is true, but not for the reason they're saying. Sasuke just wasn't as powerful as Kaguya, Kaguya is like the final boss of Naruto. She was going to destroy a planet, but they're claiming that wasn't her own power and she needed the entire earth's population to pull it off. This is false. She did siphon extra chakra when she tried to destroy a planet, but that was ONLY after she expended a LOT of her own chakra supply trying to pin down Naruto and Sasuke. There was a LONG ass fight before this planet busting attack, so when she decided to do it she didn't have the gas in the tank to do it on her own. If she wanted to do it immediately she could have. However again Sasuke does NOT have the capability to match her power, that was the whole point of that fight. They were NOT nearly powerful enough to kill this person, so they had to use a sealing ability and trap her in a moon in another dimension do not ask questions just accept what I just said. So yeah, Hiei wins it, but Sasuke does put up a damn good fight.
@@EnoYaka Like his METAL sword? No. His FIRE sword? Yes. But he probably still wouldn't have won because Hiei is quite a lot stronger than he is. If you want to be super nitpicky with the animation, you can just replace the fire sword with the metal sword and end the fight the same way. They animated it under the assumption Sasuke couldn't absorb his flames, but that ending would still work because Sasuke can't just say no to a metal sword. If he gets cut he gets cut, there's not really anything he can do about it. It's not like in the Ben 10 fight where the ending just doesn't work at all. If they ended the fight with like, trapping him in an illusion and going "Oh there's just no way he could break free from an illusion" THEN we'd have some serious problems. But they ended it by stabbing him, which does work on Sasuke. So it's fine.
@@EnoYaka It's not. Anyone that claims Naruto can blow up a planet is someone you know doesn't know how to scale characters. Don't take their word for anything. Hiei definitely has the raw power to bust through the Susano'o, and as soon as Sasuke absorbs his flames once he'll just stop using them and fight either with a regular sword or even his bare hands. Since Hiei's attack power is quite a bit higher than Sasuke's, if they attack each other Hiei's attack will be the one more likely to get through.
I love both characters, and I love both series, but Sasuke was done dirty. They also messed up Hiei as well. They were going off of feats mostly from Naruto and Yusuke instead of using their own. Why did they forget that Sasuke destroyed a meteor capable of destroying a village with just a chidori or using kirin to destroy a mountain? Why did they forget that Hiei's Dragon of Darkness Flame nearly destroyed the Dark Stadium? Hiei resisting Sharingan genjutsu just because he broke a simple illusion once is a no-limits fallacy. Sharingan genjutsu is shown to be no ordinary genjutsu. That's why Kakashi, even with a sharingan, can't break out of Itachi's tsukuyomi. They didn't show Sasuke using any Rinnegan abilities in the fight. What was to stop him from teleporting Hiei into one the dimensions? Hiei does not scale to Yusuke. Their reasoning is because of their fight in the Chapter Black saga? It wasn't even a real fight. It was simple H2H. Yusuke was tired from fighting the Sniper. Not to mention, Yusuke already gained Upper-S Class when fighting Sensui when going Raizen form, while Hiei only became Upper-S class EOS. Hiei got his ass beat by Mukuro while Yusuke tied with Yomi. And the Three Kings are said to be equal in power. Sasuke does scale to Naruto because Kishimoto says they're equal EOS. About the DODF, even if Hiei got better control of the DODF, doesn't he have to go through a long period of hibernation? He was abusing that shit in the battle. Also, their reasoning for withstanding chidori is because he is resistant to fire and ice? So just because he survived a lighting attack once, that makes him immune to all other lightning attacks? Another no-limits fallacy. Also, a little tid-bit, Sasuke was out of character in the battle. He would never ask a complete stranger where he was going.

Raigo was confident he could defeat Hiei, despite knowing who he is and having seen what he's capable of, and he ONLY loses because Hiei resists his mind control powers. "Sharingan genjutsu is shown to be no ordinary genjutsu." Yes, depending on the user, it can be quite effective since it only requires eye contact. Sasuke has shown he's quite skilled at using subtle genjutsu to defeat a foe, such as when he tricked Danzo into overestimating how many uses of Izanagi he had left. Yu yu hakusho is one of few animes that I prefer the dub over sub.
despite how similar they are, hiei is actually more chill and well-adjusted than sasuke. he doesn't tell yukina, his sister, that he is her brother because he feels that she doesn't deserve to have a murderous guy like him as her brother and just resolves to watch over her. he also has a strict honor code: once he agrees to work with someone, he won't betray or abandon them until the mission is finished.

Honestly as much as I love Sasuke, especially when he became less of an a-hole, I gotta say I agree with the results. Like I don't know Hiei well at all. But the biggest advantage Sasuke has a lot of the time is the fact his visual prowess is next level in Naruto. Also that if I recall, not many people can just resist lightening and Inferno style without some sort of protection in the show.

Completely agree. They honestly left out some of hieis advantages. The dude healed from a hand through the stomach like it was nothing. And that's when he was a c/b class. He later cut off his own arm to win a fight then just reattached it. He's seen at the end of the series dodging light attacks and tanking dimension slicing slashes. Sasuke's powerful but he's a glass cannon and always running out of chakra.
Hey, Naruto has a pretty powerful healing ability too, he healed from a lighting hand to the CHEST.

- I was kinda underwhelmed with Sasuke's performance in this fight. Not saying he should had won but feels like he wasn't used to his full potential.
- Just to clarify Itachi's goal, he wanted to motivate Sasuke to kill him so he would be considered a hero as the ninja who avenged the Uchiha Clan. Cause the rest of the village outside the higher ups had no clue the clan where planning a coup d'etat and as far a they knew they though Itachi was just some psycho who murdered his entire family. And yes that is insanely complicated as it sounds

Duck, you’d be surprised how chill people were with this result. Many Naruto fans who are staunch Sasuke stans actually agree with the outcome. Sasuke has way more techniques, versatility, far greater speed and is comparable to both Madara and Naruto at the end of the series. But it matters very little when Hiei. Hiei was way more durable than Sasuke who could match blows from Yusuke who’s punches are enough to shake the planet at 50% of his strength. Plus his own power eclipses Sasukes tenfold.
I know you are all about speed, and in most cases speed is the most assured way to win most fights. But when the difference in power and durability is as apparent as night and day, speed is a non factor at that point.

A very small but vocal minority were crying about it. Most others are chill. Myself included. I’m more of a Hiei fan since I grew up with Yu Yu Hakasho, but I have watched all of Naruto and read the whole manga. Even watched the dreadful cash grab movies. So I can say without a doubt, that this result is accurate when it comes to winning the majority fight. Yes, Sasuke can definitely pull multiple wins. If Hiei’s mental defenders are laxed then Sasuke can just scramble his brain with Tsukuyomi. Or trap him in a never ending loop with Izanami since he learned it from Itachi. Hiei will have a very hard time breaking out of both.
But, winning 49 times out of 100 doesn’t put him over Hiei. Cause he has the 51 majority wins. Simple as that my friend.

You know, it’s kind of sad. Despite not actually watching the series, I’ve been growing quite attached to Naruto characters in Death Battle. Not because of power or anything. Rather it’s because they tend to be clever and strategic because of their arsenal of powers. And I really like smart fighters. Unfortunately, Hiei had the defenses needed to counter Sausuke’s tricks and the power to out muscle him, both offensively and defensively.

Okay. Couple of things. One, this battle is actually pretty agreed upon. The only people who argue against this fight is people who haven't seen Yu Yu Hakusho. (Side note, Yu Yu Hakusho is my favorite anime of all time so I already knew Hiei was set to win) Two, Sasuke was actually created as an inspiration of Hiei. A copy can never match the original unfortunately for Naruto fans. Three, yes in 700+ episodes of Naruto things make a bit more sense in context but the last 8th of the story does go a bit wack. Four, it's easy to handle words in other languages by breaking it down into syllables. For example, Yu Yu Ha-Ku-Sho and Hi-Ei. Five, Hiei is the only character who can say he's had the fewest losses in the show. Only two come immediately to mind. Six, it feels very Dragonball because it aired around the same time frame. I highly recommend as it's only 4 seasons. It has the absolute best dub and some great iconic moments.

Itachi killed whole Uchiha Clan becouse the were Bunch of a-holes, and kinda a badguys, becouse Sasuke back then was still a kid and he didn't know the truth about his family. Itachi wanted Peace but the rest of the clan wanted to overthrow the Leaf Village, also Itachi didn't wanted, Sasuke to end up like the rest of the clan. So he killed the whole Uchiha Clan, exept for himself and Sasuke, and the reason why Itachi wanted for Sasuke to know the he's responsible. The reason why, is becouse Itachi wanted Sasuke to become strong and punish the injustice, He literally said to his brother, "If you wanna kill me, you must become stronger". Itachi wanted Sasuke to become a New Age in Uchiha's Clan history, where the Next Generation will be good and even better.
So in short Itachi is actually plot twist good guy.

I may be biased because I did enjoy Naruto, but man Sasuke got done dirty, and I can say that as someone that really doesn't like him at all. With his level of speed and reactions (his sharinghan especially makes his reaction time kinda BS) there were dozens of things they seemed to just forget he could do (shadow clones, substitution jutsu away from lethal attacks, etc.) Also its kind of weird that they always use the blanket term 'mental resistance' to counter the Genjutsu from his eyes. Its a super high level ability for a reason you don't just sneeze and break out of it.
On the other hand, I'm always happy to see sasuke get beat up. so woo go Hiei! You're lucky it wasn't Itachi that man would fuck you right up!
Itachi's power was more based in illusions than Sasuke's, so he'd lose even quicker since illusions don't work on Hiei.

I don’t know about black fire but fire does change colors depending on what’s burning. For example: Copper produces green fire, potassium makes purple fire, and fire burning in a place with little atmosphere is blue and umbrella shaped.
Fire also changes via a spectrum of colors depending on how hot it is. With Blue fire being the hottest and Red fire being the coolest

Some people have probably already mentioned this, but spoilers aren't a really big concern for Legend of Zelda games, especially since there are so many games, many of which take place in different timelines, giving them dubious continuity AT BEST. It would be like skipping Kirby vs Majin Buu because you wanted to avoid spoilers.
Also, even if you skip Ganondorf vs. Dracula (which I hope you don't because it's a good fight) you still have one more episode before Deadpool vs The Mask: Mob vs Tatsumaki.

I think When a Mangekyo sharingan user goes blind, it’s permanent until they swap eyes with another Mangekyo sharingan user and/or get the eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. Which is what Sasuke did. Eternal takes away the downsides and probably lessens the chakra cost a bit.

I love both characters, and I love both series, but Sasuke was done dirty. They also messed up Hiei as well. They were going off of feats mostly from Naruto and Yusuke instead of using their own.
Why did they forget that Sasuke destroyed a meteor capable of destroying a village with just a chidori or using kirin to destroy a mountain?
Why did they forget that Hiei's Dragon of Darkness Flame nearly destroyed the Dark Stadium?
Hiei resisting Sharingan genjutsu just because he broke a simple illusion once is a no-limits fallacy. Sharingan genjutsu is shown to be no ordinary genjutsu. That's why Kakashi, even with a sharingan, can't break out of Itachi's tsukuyomi.
They didn't show Sasuke using any Rinnegan abilities in the fight. What was to stop him from teleporting Hiei into one the dimensions?
Hiei does not scale to Yusuke. Their reasoning is because of their fight in the Chapter Black saga? It wasn't even a real fight. It was simple H2H. Yusuke was tired from fighting the Sniper.
Not to mention, Yusuke already gained Upper-S Class when fighting Sensui when going Raizen form, while Hiei only became Upper-S class EOS. Hiei got his ass beat by Mukuro while Yusuke tied with Yomi. And the Three Kings are said to be equal in power.
Sasuke does scale to Naruto because Kishimoto says they're equal EOS.
About the DODF, even if Hiei got better control of the DODF, doesn't he have to go through a long period of hibernation? He was abusing that shit in the battle.

I feel like they downplayed Sauske and his abilities a bit. Not sure if the result would be any different, but I feel like they took more time to explain Hiei and his abilities and gave more of their guesses than they did with Sauske. Like for one thing they never mentioned the sword that they were using for Sauske has the ability to where you can't block aginst it. Like if you had a shield and put it up the sword would go through it without breaking the shield. Or with the Amaterasu (black flame) it dosen't just burn the sun.. it would destroy the sun if it was on it,, because it can bur anything an will not go away until whatever it's on is ash, unless you can absorb jutsu. Again not sure if the fight would be different. Honestly I don't think it would, but they could've done a better explanation with Sauske.

Yu yu hakusho was an anime that came out around the same time as dbz. Fans can tell you that this was as good or better than dbz, but it’s short run prevented it from dethroning dbz.
It's such a shame that you're skipping Ganondorf Vs. Dracula, considering that it's, hands down, the BEST Death Battle of this season.
Honestly, most of the battles that you've skipped for spoilers (Snake Vs. Sam Fisher, Wolverine Vs. Raiden, Lara Croft Vs. Nathan Drake, Jotaro Vs. Kenshiro, Samurai Jack Vs. Afro Samurai) tend to be among the best Death Battles of their seasons, and that trend is only going to continue into later seasons. You've gotta hurry up and get into more stuff so you can go back and watch those episodes sooner.

I love this episode, it was previously my 5th favorite. But after Dio VS Alucard & Madara VS Aizen came out this one got lowered to 7th favorite. Also Sasuke was inspired by Hiei. Ganon VS Dracula is also awesome, it is actually my 6th favorite. Also it is specific Dracula from the Castlevania franchise.
I find it strange that Hiei beats Sasuke, who is equal to Naruto, but they have Ichigo lose to Naruto despite the fact that Bleach characters are much stronger than Yu Yu Hakusho characters.

@@asasassify, I believe I can determine for myself the power level of the characters in the shows I have seen. While I have not gotten far into Naruto, I am quite familiar with Bleach and Yu Yu Hakusho. And from what I have seen, the feats of Yusuke are not on the level of Ichigo (who is theoretically the most powerful character in Bleach). So if they put Ichigo below Naruto, and Sasuke below Hiei, then I find it very strange.

They heavily downplayed Sasuke's speed and really underestimated his attack potency.
Sasuke scales to Naruto who can destroy planets, yes but also fight comparable to Kaguya whom can destroy dimensions with stars in it.
He doesn't really need attack potency though, Naruto is could blitz please whom move x96 the speed of light. This is in a significantly weaker form with less chakra. He got many times stronger afterwards.
Sidenote: They love bringing up the Toneri's moon slicing but forget that a group of 100 random joinin ninja were going shoot a beam powered by their chakra to destroy the moon. Naruto has hundreds of times more chakra than them.
AND he casually tanked the moon slice, besides that he actually reverted to base form and powered a single punch which obliterated Toneri.
What I'm trying to say this is all casual and Toneri didn't even fight Naruto in his most powerful form.
P. S. Toneri's goal was actually throwing the moon at Earth fast enough to destroy it...so....yeah

Get hyped for some high quality DB next time) Also, Mob vs Tastumaki, the episode after that, may have been left out thanks to some stuff in the OPM manga that wasn't adapted or you weren't reacting to. I don't know all your old videos or future plans, so if you're either caught up or not doing reactions to their stuff, that one's safe.

Essentially itachi was super wise and intelligent and didn't want to have his clan start anymore conflict in the village and so he believed as a penance for what he did he believed that seeing saksue go through the same pain he went through and allowing him to kill him would allow him to become even greater than he was although his plan backfired when saskue swore vengeance.
Also fun fact itachi was dying from a terminal illness at the time and was super wekaned yet even still because he didn't actually try to fight saskue fully he was severely injured and was said that he could have killed saskue whenever he wanted even in the end saskue didn't kill him itachi just finally succumbed to the illness

Honestly here's the updated States ( keep in mind I'm not saying death battle got everything wrong it's just they weren't using the right feats and this is from the Madara v Lord Aizen fight and some other math but don't worry I'm keeping it short )
Speed : Hiei quite a bit as early in the series the spirit gun is shown to move at light speed and he dodged it relatively early on the series
Endurance : Hiei not that Sasuke hasn't survived bad shut happening to him but Hiei has survived worst injuries ( this isn't durability but how bad a character can get there ass beat e.g stabbing or losing limbs )
Skills ( and techniques ) : Sasuke got this like there are alot of things he and those eyes can do that people ( and series ) forgot ( like making a fucking soul dragon or repairing all damage done by jumping in the King of hell's mouth )
Power : Sasuke as he's shown the power to fight on par people stronger than kaguya like kenshiki and momoshiki who are all large planet ( star level but only with the expansive truth seeking orb with is a hax so it shouldn't count )
Hax abilities is tricky as both have alot of attacks that cancel each other's as they stated so let's instead look at win condition for each
Sasuke win conditions are to damage Hiei with massive AOE attacks because like I said he's faster so just destroy everything is probably a good idea
Hiei again Sasuke's got less endurance so land a critical hit fast ( a stab though the heart or brain ) because he doesn't have a healing factor but he does have the king or hell so make sure he's dead or your dead

Before I start, I want to make it clear the animation and music for this episode are amazing. Also, these debates are inherently subjective. But since Death Battle tries to take an objective lens, it must be judged with an objective perspective as well. With that being said:
I’m not going to write an essay on why this episode is a complete insult to Naruto fans (trust me, I could), but let it be known Hiei stands absolutely no fucking chance against Sasuke. Death Battle’s current calcs for Naruto put Sasuke far above Hiei. Even ones around when this episode show he’s far superior. They completely misrepresented most of Sasuke’s abilities, while ludicrously overestimating Hiei’s strength. He has no answer for most of Sasuke’s attacks.
This is by far one of the least accurate episodes they’ve ever made (given when it was made, I’m not counting way older episodes that had less budget and research). I’m not going to say people are dumb just for agreeing with this episode, but many seem to attack those who think Sasuke should win. For that reason, while I understand why some like this episode, it’s one of my least favorites in the entire show. If you disagree that’s fine, but I really just wanted to vent lol

I'm not entirely sure weather you should watch the next one, on one hand it is a legend of Zelda character, but the parts of his story they bring up are from the older stuff, that's also where pretty much all his feats are from. I know you're planning on playing Breath of the Wild, and that game has very little relevance in this episode, only a few clips from that game are shown but that's pretty much it. So maybe it's okay to watch it? I mean it would be a bummer for you to skip the first episode on this show where Devilartimus animates the fight. I'll just let you decide whether to watch it or not.

There's ONE thing they get wrong, and it's regarding Sasuke's ability to absorb attacks. They claim he can only absorb CHAKRA but this is not true, the technique he uses to absorb attacks has absorbed energies aside from chakra, it's called Nature Energy. Going by established rules, he can absorb any elemental attack that is not natural, so if Katara went at him with water bending he couldn't do anything cause she's just moving real water. If Zuko shot a fireball at him though, that's energy he can absorb.
This, doesn't really change the outcome of the fight though. Hiei is outright IMMUNE to fire, AND he can counter mental attacks. He's VERY fast and unlike him, Sasuke is not IMMUNE to fire, he's not even immune to just, being stabbed. His strengths come in avoiding getting stabbed, not flexing his abs and snapping the sword. With how crazy Hiei is, just shaking the PLANET with his power?
Yeah, Sasuke takes the L on this one. It would be a tough fight for Hiei, cause Sasuke is VERY talented in fighting and has VERY tricky abilities. However I think more often than not Sasuke would lose.
Another small thing they mention in one of the info cards that Sasuke doesn't scale to Kaguya's planet busting attack.
This is true, but not for the reason they're saying. Sasuke just wasn't as powerful as Kaguya, Kaguya is like the final boss of Naruto. She was going to destroy a planet, but they're claiming that wasn't her own power and she needed the entire earth's population to pull it off. This is false. She did siphon extra chakra when she tried to destroy a planet, but that was ONLY after she expended a LOT of her own chakra supply trying to pin down Naruto and Sasuke. There was a LONG ass fight before this planet busting attack, so when she decided to do it she didn't have the gas in the tank to do it on her own. If she wanted to do it immediately she could have.
However again Sasuke does NOT have the capability to match her power, that was the whole point of that fight. They were NOT nearly powerful enough to kill this person, so they had to use a sealing ability and trap her in a moon in another dimension do not ask questions just accept what I just said.
So yeah, Hiei wins it, but Sasuke does put up a damn good fight.

His FIRE sword? Yes.
But he probably still wouldn't have won because Hiei is quite a lot stronger than he is. If you want to be super nitpicky with the animation, you can just replace the fire sword with the metal sword and end the fight the same way. They animated it under the assumption Sasuke couldn't absorb his flames, but that ending would still work because Sasuke can't just say no to a metal sword. If he gets cut he gets cut, there's not really anything he can do about it.
It's not like in the Ben 10 fight where the ending just doesn't work at all. If they ended the fight with like, trapping him in an illusion and going "Oh there's just no way he could break free from an illusion" THEN we'd have some serious problems. But they ended it by stabbing him, which does work on Sasuke. So it's fine.

Hiei definitely has the raw power to bust through the Susano'o, and as soon as Sasuke absorbs his flames once he'll just stop using them and fight either with a regular sword or even his bare hands. Since Hiei's attack power is quite a bit higher than Sasuke's, if they attack each other Hiei's attack will be the one more likely to get through.
I love both characters, and I love both series, but Sasuke was done dirty. They also messed up Hiei as well. They were going off of feats mostly from Naruto and Yusuke instead of using their own.
Why did they forget that Sasuke destroyed a meteor capable of destroying a village with just a chidori or using kirin to destroy a mountain?

Hiei resisting Sharingan genjutsu just because he broke a simple illusion once is a no-limits fallacy. Sharingan genjutsu is shown to be no ordinary genjutsu. That's why Kakashi, even with a sharingan, can't break out of Itachi's tsukuyomi.
They didn't show Sasuke using any Rinnegan abilities in the fight. What was to stop him from teleporting Hiei into one the dimensions?
Hiei does not scale to Yusuke. Their reasoning is because of their fight in the Chapter Black saga? It wasn't even a real fight. It was simple H2H. Yusuke was tired from fighting the Sniper.
Not to mention, Yusuke already gained Upper-S Class when fighting Sensui when going Raizen form, while Hiei only became Upper-S class EOS. Hiei got his ass beat by Mukuro while Yusuke tied with Yomi. And the Three Kings are said to be equal in power.
Sasuke does scale to Naruto because Kishimoto says they're equal EOS.
About the DODF, even if Hiei got better control of the DODF, doesn't he have to go through a long period of hibernation? He was abusing that shit in the battle.
Also, their reasoning for withstanding chidori is because he is resistant to fire and ice? So just because he survived a lighting attack once, that makes him immune to all other lightning attacks? Another no-limits fallacy.
Also, a little tid-bit, Sasuke was out of character in the battle. He would never ask a complete stranger where he was going.

ALL his attacks that do not utilize existing matter can be absorbed by Sasuke, and no upper limit has ever been established, and has been shown NOT to exist in multiple instances.

Raigo was confident he could defeat Hiei, despite knowing who he is and having seen what he's capable of, and he ONLY loses because Hiei resists his mind control powers.

Sasuke has shown he's quite skilled at using subtle genjutsu to defeat a foe, such as when he tricked Danzo into overestimating how many uses of Izanagi he had left.

You need at least a Mangekyou to have a chance of fighting off the Tsukuyomi. Now if Sasuke HAD the Tsukuyomi, I would indeed need proof Hiei has defeated the highest tier of mental attacks. However Sasuke isn't really a Genjutsu specialist, and the amount he can use in a fight would certainly be avoidable with the Jagan.

Sasuke could make this fight drag on quite a bit, but Hiei is SO powerful in general, and Sasuke has NO recovery options, so Hiei would certainly win more often than not. Especially since he completely shuts down Sasuke's biggest damage dealer, the Amaterasu.

Now if Hiei had been struck by ordinary lightning and was rendered paralyzed even as an S Class demon, THEN you would have a reason to complain. But that didn't happen.
