Standley Chasm & Simpsons Gap | Day Walks of the Red Centre (Tjoritja / West MacDonnell NP, NT, Aus)

Two short and family friendly walks, the Standley Chasm and Simpsons Gap walks take hikers to two of the most iconic landmarks in Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park. Heading along a lushly vegetated gorge, the 2.4km return Standley Chasm walk leads to a beautiful small pool and sacred site, while the shorter and more open Simpson Gap walk passes by rock wallaby habitats on the way to a more substantial pool along the dry river bed. While hardly bushwalks, both are worthwhile short strolls in the Red Centre.
