"To Learn / To Study" - 勉強する vs 学ぶ vs 習う the Differences

- This time I'll explain how to properly say "to learn / to study" in Japanese.
Do you know the differences between "勉強する (benkyou suru)", "学ぶ (manabu)", "習う (narau)", "教わる (osowaru)" in Japanese?
The native way to say "I want to learn Japanese", "I want to be fluent in Japanese", "I'm studying Japanese", "I want to learn to do ~" and so many more examples :) ☆
Leave a comment like " "日本語が話せるようになりたい。", "日本語を勉強しています。", "みさ先生に日本語を教わっています"and "日本語を習っています" ^^

Tell me about it. The quality is phenomenal, every single video is so jam packed with knowledge like even if you already know about the topic she's teaching,I can guarantee you'll still learn something new from her. She's such an amazing sensei like I still cannot believe I'm getting such top quality lessons for Free! But even if she were to charge for these lessons in the future, I would happily spend my savings since I knw they would be my money's worth.

I am learning Japanese from several sources. Memrise, a few books and TH-cam. Your videos are my go to sources though. I've been learning for about 2 months now, and I feel I'm making progress. Your videos are really helping me. I have started from the beginning of your series, but randomly decided to watch this video tonight as it was new and still I have learn new things. I've got a whiteboard with a weekly study schedule written on it, and your videos are part of my weekly study schedule, so please don't stop! So very helpful. I'm so motivated at the moment, and I can't wait for the day when I'll be able to hold a fluent conversation in Japanese.
So true! Misa is my most recent addition to my japanese resources and I truly feel I learn a lot with every video. I also use Memrise but I'm kinda lost when it comes to books, I got Genki I and II (haven't read them tho) but I would love if you could name the books you're using if you don't mind.

This is an immensely important series you're starting there! Pragmatics often get left behind in classes and won't even get mentioned in textbooks when starting to learn a new language even though it's the most important aspect of every language. Keep it up! I really hope you're making more of these kind of videos talking about pragmatics!

I felt like I was getting on the language train fairly early, having started a couple of years ago at 25. Now I wish I'd found my desire to learn Japanese (or any language really), at (now, I presume) 17. You'll always have that extra 8 years on me, haha. Glad to hear you've started so much earlier. Misa sensei is always careful to point out the differences between formal and casual speaking.I wonder if these lessons are also sensitive to differences between masculine and feminine ways of speaking.

I'm a 17 year old with nothing to do for the next 3 months these past few weeks ive been doing literally nothing but learning Japanese it's quite fun I've actually started the last month of last summer but this summer I'm picking up where I left off as I play Japanese videogames and watch anime I find my self improving and it's amazing to me.I've already learned 300 kanji and it's only been two weeks or so
your videos are awesome misa and it's great because I can hear you pronounce things in a nice soft comfortable voice that soothes my lonely ass.More importantly it's great however if you could please leave any vocab that you use in the description so I could expand my vocab that would be helpful with the exception of very common words
I read about the different forms to use with なる just yesterday in a very dry and dense self-study book and thought, I'll understand this when I see it in one of Misa's videos.

The surprise music vocab was super helpful, ive been using 奏でる for a little about my piano playing but now i know the proper word. You should make a video about more music vocab in the future for the students studying music as well. Also thanks for all the amazing content, I’m trying to self teach Japanese and your channel is super helpful in making sure in doing everything proper, keep up the good work :)
Wheew! This was one of those heavy lessons where a lot more than just what is written in the title is covered. It's going to take some times for most of this to sink in.
As with every lesson, the next step from here is just seeing if I spot the structures out 'in the wild' when reading. Then probably get them wrong, then come back for the second viewing.

ミサ先生今日は! Alright so, I want to make sure I understand this right
勉強する-means to stop study in general about something, meaning academics. Also, I can say I'm practicing Japanese in general, I can say 練習する。
学ぶ- means to study about something, for example the history of the piano, what is it exactly. Also I can use 学ぶ when learning from my mistakes and experiences.
Finally. 習う means that I'm learning Japanese from someone, but this also includes non-academic things as well correct? For 習う does this also include academic as well?

If I want to say “I’m learning Japanese” without the implication that I’m studying academically, could I say “日本語を身に付けています”?
If not, how could I say it to imply that it’s a natural process of acquisition, rather than study?

how different is adding ところ to て form.

is the same meaning or does adding ところ make a difference and what difference is it.

How would you say to play the accordion? Since it is a wind instrument but you don't blow yoursef I not sure

Why for なリたい is the ri katakana? Is there a reason ri is in katakana? What’s the difference between that and なりたい？

18:54 -> is it "ongaku wo" or "ongaku kara"? the subtitles diverge
I translated that to: bekyoushimashita demo nani mo narai masen deshita 😂😂
