    I have the airity, luvias 1003, 21 presso, 21 soare xr, abu theta, abu zenon in 1000 size except the soare xr which is 2000s..Although its subjective about how smooth this reel is, you should try the theta, I would say it is a low enertia reel and way better drag sound in all of my daiwa. I was surprised how good this reel is. You have to fished it. The zenon is good but not as smooth as the rest but lighter than the rest. I paired my zenon on the new Eradicator prototype 6 version . Let me say, everything i fished besides this pair seems heavy. Lol. Great video

    Thankyou very much, Victor, I'm planning to buy the presso for my ultra light salt water game, i know it's a fresh water reel but comes with magseal, and i thought it can be a salt water reel as well, and now i know everything i need. Great review and Great explanation!! Thanks a lot, man

      i would get the sister Luvias for saltwater. Or even better Shimano Twinpower. Thats a proper saltwater ultralight. This feels flimsy for saltwater with this tiny knob and many seals removed.

    I used to think bearing count was important, had more expensive Abu Garcia Revo spinning reels. I bought a Shimano Stradic Ci4+FA2500 (only 7 bearings) years ago and realized count doesn't always matter. Quality is what matters.

    • @milosstevanovic6718

      And sometimes bushing is better option than bearing. I have cheap shimano sienna for 10yrs already, it has plastic bushing inside the anti twist roller which still works perfectly. I just did occational lubricating. The proof that plastic can be excellent solution is that cross wrap gear is some of the high end reels is plastic instead of metal. BR

    • @ifishcatfish
      @ifishcatfish  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The main hear is the same, only different size. To say that its different gear because it is sifferent size is silly. Even if u take 2500 size of the luvias u can find all kinds of sizes in it, depending on whether is high or low gear ratio model. Are those different gears too?

    • @volpone2783
      @volpone2783 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a different main gear. Different number of teeth and size. Disassemble the coils and take a look. I didn't talk about another TYPE of gear. So the main gear is different there. Therefore, it would be a mistake to say that these are same reels.

    Hello and congratulations for the TH-cam channel. I would like to share with you my thoughts on the issue of the Daiwa reel models and their names. I think that:
    1. in recent years the various daiwa models have lost their specific identity, also due to the transport of technology from the more advanced models to the low-end ones (this process is a very good thing, don't get me wrong);
    2. the "LT revolution" helped to flatten the differentiation even more (now on the market there are really, I don't know, 50 models that differ in unnecessary details);
    3. the Airity: a 95% chinese Luvias reel; what is it for? Something between the Luvias and the Ballistic; so again, what is it for?
    4. at this point Daiwa realized that a new market strategy was needed and a really new reel was needed;
    5. the Daiwa strategy: not being able to eliminate the newly launched models from the market (like the useless Airity), and also to restore the differentiation lost over time, Daiwa decided to "transfer" the name of some reels on the body of others so as to make them look like upgraded (like the Luvias Airity) waiting for the new exist, still under development;
    6. now the daiwa market podium has been re-established:
    - the new Exist is born: the synonym of "future"
    - the Luvias (now Luvias Airity, alias the old Exist) has recovered the unique elegance that distinguished it (especially from the useless Airity)
    - the Certate (the synonym of power and beauty at the same time) has kept its place.
    Even if, I must say, that the Certate LT does not have the soul of its predecessor; it seems like a small and shy reel respect the 2016 version (apart from the LT re-sizing...compact body??? on the Certate??? Daiwa, give me power, more power damn!!!), it does not transmit you the brutal force that was perceived with the old one. I believe that even the Certate must rediscover its lost identity and daiwa knows it.
    Stay healty and congratulations again! Bye bye!
    Marco

    • @ifishcatfish
      @ifishcatfish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with most of your main points. If daiwa keeps going in this direction it will completely destroy the brand reputation of their entire lineup as everything is getting mixed up. People will lose sensitivity to models and names. No model has reputation any more in my mind. Exist was disgraced, Presso was disgraced, even Luvias was disgraced, because the old Luvias was a special reel, and the new reel has no soul.

    • @AMLuc1320
      @AMLuc1320 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree with your thoughts here.
      Especially on the Certate, the previous models had a different feel and reputation of strength/power for its class. 19 Certate is more like an overweight 18 Exist, older models where like little power house reels.
