I feel, this is actually the best debut I’ve seen yet from a Kpop group. They are serving everything- esp the vocals..Rap.. dance. They have it all.
YES! I’m a fairly new K-pop Stan and there haven’t been and groups I’ve stanned from debut yet so I’m glad they’re the ones. I feel like they’re gonna be big, but even if they aren’t they at least have one fan here

The perfect Big 3 + HYBE trainees. Belle’s vocal just like SM, Haneul having stage presence like HYBE, Natty having great dance skills like JYP and Julie having the perfect english and rap like YG.

Julie explained the last part and that’s her favorite part we all know that Natty came from Solo and now she’s in a Group called Kiss of Life, Julie said that she will no longer be a solo because she has a group now. And that’s makes me emotional 😭

The lyrics "burned my neverland" really hits home. Especially for those who were forced to grow up early due to circumstances. Big hugs for everyone who burned their neverlands and forced their inner child to hide.
They sang live at every stage of their debut stage.
I also cried at the part of "burn my neverland" at that one line "becoming an adult isn't easy, and even though is not, you still wanted to grow up, and it hurts but we gotta go through it just for surviving" like no sugarcoat, straight up truth..i remember i cried on the car listening lyrics per lyrics back then..KISS OF LIFE YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUSSS
their music really connect with young adults... I have been missing that kind of sound and emotions in kpop
So basically kiss of life is those teenagers turning adult..days full of expectation from parents, environment pressure and the need to survive without the helps of anyone..I FELT THATTTT

Kiss of Life is just on another level, they're just completely out of the box and they go above and beyond the usual kpop standard for girl groups. I'm so grateful for KIOF for making a debut like this, it's eye opening and it's just aghh

Not the line "leave the hometown" and Natty showed up. It hits differently knowing she'd been chasing her dream that long since Mixnine here in Korea, which I could assume she already leave Thai, her hometown for 10+ years.
yes, that's why their name is KISS OF LIFE. their concept is talking about every piece of life. A Kiss is not always in a good moment, sometimes it hurts, make us cry. but at the end, we want a happy kiss on our life.

It's one of the few releases this year that genuinely impressed me and one of my fave debuts EVER like with this the line separating the quality between big company groups and nugu groups are starting to get thinner and i love it.
Still can't forgive s2 for disbanding hot issue before they turned a year old and I don't even know how they managed to get their hands on these trainees but they better not eff it up this time around. I want nothing but for them to succeed cuz they're already one of my fave groups ever.

I think we all know you well enough now to know that you know full well just how quickly and deeply music breaks us and opens us up. Yeah, Belle's M/V is rough, so are Natty's and Julie's, in different ways, and Haneul's role when they all come together and she's being stalked. Love the storytelling throughout, though, and so glad you went through them in order like many of us did (those of us who don't have to consider filming for an audience LOL).
I have been attracted to them too. Like this is one of the best debut ever. Their performance are not boring at all. And they keep performing live..

Kiss of Life is probably the most perfect debut I've seen. Before them I would have said Purple Kiss, as they also had some hype pre-releases that made you notice them. But I think giving all their members solos that showcased their strengths and making MVs of the whole album (with an overarching narrative) was so genius. Expensive, but worth it. Like Purple Kiss, this is a group I can see being super talented, and I HOPE people won't sleep on them (either group if we're being honest). Aside from (G)I-DLE's comeback this year, for me I feel that Kiss of Life has been the highlight of 2023 so far.
oh, also, don't know if this has been said yet, but Belle won the 'Proud Korean Grand Prize' in the composer category at the '2023 Korea Best Brand Awards' on July 15, 2023
so just 15 days ago, and literally 10 days after debut, so obviously a result of her work outside of and before KIOF, but she is No Joke in Korean songwriting right now (Miyeon's solo album and Le Sserafim's Unforgiven just to name a few of her other credits)

No but Belle MV is so relatable to a lot of people. Actually all of them. I think Kiss of Life aimed to release something closest to reality.
Also Belle is a songwriter and producer even before debut. She has credit on Unforgiven, 2 Miyeon songs and Purple kiss song. Also ofc their own tittle track and her Solo.

i have watched so many reaction vids to their mvs and i feel like you were the only one who didn't simplify julie's character in her mv as "party girl" and, in fact, i think you had the most thoughtful takes on their entire storyline, so thank you for that.
OMG I wasn't expecting a marathon but I'm so glad you decided to check them out! I love their concept and sound so much. It pleases me how they center more on a mature storyline with that coming-of-age feel to it. Bye My Neverland resonates with me so much on a personal level. I like all of their releases so far.

So Kiss of Life is going to be MY first proper discovery of a brand new K-Pop group since a friend of mine got me hooked on the genre a couple years ago.
I then introduced these girls to another friend of mine (who's REALLY into K-Pop) and we're SUPER excited to see where this group goes from here.
Love this group. PERFECT way to debut in my opinion. Different tastes, genres, styles, and the way you spoke about the Solos and both MVs matching up so nicely from a videography and storybuilding perspective.... beautiful!!!
Natty is carrying her dream with her all the time, (the radio 😅) practicing time after time, from place to place, feel lonely 😢 sometimes she fails, but never gives up...when it comes to Natty story.. i cry😢😢

I love their message so much, it feel so good to be heard and seen, to be validated through music again. back then when I was young and lost, I relate so much to BTS's Most Beautiful Moments in Life and Wings because it resonates with me. It feels good to feel that resonance again with Kiss of Life.
Belle's acting got as all. I believe that we all collectively felt that.
the reason kiss of life music is so refreshing is because it is mature women music made by mature women. all the members were 18 and over at debut. most other 4th gen gg cant pull of this music is because they have minors on the group, so they cant show or sing about more mature themes. the current trend of Y2K focuses more on the high school during that time period, where as kiss of life Y2K spin is looking at from a young adult r&b type of sound and look

really love your takes on every mv and i highly agree w each one of those. their group name really lives up to its name- they're showcasing the different themes a human person can experience in their lives. especially those in their early adulthood and late adolescence because that's when most crucial decisions and situations will happen. their concept is the reminder of the darker shade of the spectrum of human life without actually glamorizing the hardships one can actually feel on those.

The story of all the songs and the meaning behind them including the mvs already speaks a lot. Its like the worst moments of their lives but right moment for them to know each other. They're their own salvation from the bad experiences that they were going through, and i know lots of people will relate.

I always want to watch your reaction because I just know whatever genre of the music, you'll have good insights to share. And damn, Kiss Of Life may just have the most promising debut that I ever witnessed on KPop. The cohesiveness of the album, how each of them have solo songs right away and showcased their own charisma, and how their MVs collectively narrates a story that is empowering while being fun to watch.
