For all we know this actually could have been Goku fucking with Vegeta. Once he learned Instant Transmission he could have planet hopped and trained this way, too. Vegeta did reveal himself first with that big explosion.
I think youre right and wrong. It does teleport him based on energy signatures but it would place him within relative proximity to the source. Not hundreds of thousands miles away.
From one side of earth to the other and from one planet to another, instant transmission can take him anywhere he wants as long as there's an energy signal. No idea what your going on about but it's not instant transmission lol.
Wilson Rivera goku: watched his friends die before his eyes and gets super saiyan Vegeta: trained until his body broke and beyond until he got it. Future trunks: his master and only friend gets killed before getting super saiyan. Gohan: trains with goku and has to be pushed to the brink and think of how he continues to let his friends down. Been watching dragon Ball for 20 years, never have I ever considered that WAS Goku, as he was either practicing his instant transmission, or trolling Vegeta. This blows my mind hardcore, and idk why.
I'd never actually seen this scene before today and it blows my mind too. This show never had unconventional writing like this. Every narrative detail is generally right up front and obvious. But if you think about it, the events add up and it's clear Goku was in the process of practicing Instant Transmission. It's during the time he's supposed to have been learning it. And Vegeta sensed Goku appear. The flash of Goku's face is like him locking onto Vegeta's energy and the effect that comes after is his warp. It would also make sense that he landed so far away from Vegeta too because he's still learning the technique. Because it isn't presented as a warp to a location but instead an energy source. Meaning he can only land in a location as accurate as he can focus in on the energy he's targeting. Then of course Vegeta SEES Goku but he disappears into thin air. Which we would expect to see a lot of if we were to watch Goku practice the technique. What's most impressive is that this entire sequence only makes sense to the audience -- not the character -- and retroactively, only after we find out about the technique and how it works. Which is quality level writing on behalf of the team behind DBZ.
@@datboi_gee I think you are reading too much into it, I very much doubt that was the writer's intent. I think this is just a random scene with the intention of keeping the audience guessing at best. You said it yourself, DBZ didn't precisely stand out for its writing

Vegeta has an exotic form of PTSD and mental illness (courtesy of Frieza) that carries even into the most recent iteration of the DBS Manga. These original DBZ moments portray the beginning of his pathological obsession with growth in power. Goku's progress has been Vegeta's entire life ever since he saw the man crush Recoome, Jeice and Burter. His obsession runs so terrifyingly deep it pushed him beyond the Gods of Destruction...
this scene explains how goku IT to vegeta once he felt his ki and started training him as seen with the rocks flying at vegeta. Thats why vegeta knew how to become a super saiyan when he felt that power coming from goku when he landed at that crater
Yeah. At 01:10 Vegeta actually detects an energy signal. Goku probably felt Vegeta's Ki, went over there to give him a quick glimpse to push Vegeta further
Vegeta was already crazy but this is where his last bit of sanity disappeared. He lost his mind searching for Kakarot and obsessing about trying to become a Super Saiyan. Incredible mini arc.
It kills me that Goku went super saiyan, was testing out his Instant Transmission, saw Vegeta, and throw a boulder at him and bounced like it never happened. Leaving Vegeta to go crazy wondering if that really happened.
I think it's either saiyans lungs are so powerful they can hold their breath for long periods of time or perhaps they use a barrier of some kind that keeps a bubble of air around them. kind of like what Vegetto used when he went inside buu.

So, interesting bit here: in the latin american dub (which does NOT borrow from the english one) when sensing the energy from the larger planet he clearly identifies it as belonging to a Super Saiyan, and after destroying the large rock flung at him he questions if what he saw was just an illusion. But when he stares at the crater and smiles he states that it clearly wasn't an illusion at all and that the only one who could've done this was, and I quote "Kakarot, the strongest Saiyan in the universe". I dunno which version changed the original dialogue more but I'm willing to bet it was the english one, that bit is very confusing in this version!
My best guess, it was Goku testing out his new instant transmission. Just hopping around the universe for a bit. Kinda outta character of him to not at least say “hi” to Vegeta though.

At the very least, he could probably survive space for a certain amount of time -whether through ki techniques or biology.
Basically goku instant transmission to that planet went super saiyan and left the deep creattle around it too show he has the power but has to dig deep to become one. Vegeta voice even had the echo in it.
I never understood why Toriyama wrote that Saiyans can’t breathe in space. As fast and strong as they are why not
Monkeys can’t breath in space. They’re saiyan Monkeys. Not aliens like Frieza, or Cell…
@@retrovcr777 Cell is actually not an alien. He can breath in space because of Frieza and King Cold's cells (it was mentioned by him in the episode where Cell saves Earth)
@@SandWraith0 Cell Never Even Saved Earth. It Was Gohan Who Did When He Became A Super Saiyan 2 After Defeating Cell.
@@emmanuelharris6445when cell destroyed the meteor
He's breathing heavily - in space
Goku: *Can't breathe in space or underwater*
Vegeta: "Space helmets are for pussies."
I thinks so. Remember he was learning how to use the Instant Transmission technique. I think he was there and he helped Vegeta.
That was his mind playing tricks on him
“Oh now I understand.”
Yeah, I don’t think he really understood how Goku did it
I loved these filler episodes like this one.
Goku be like "Hey Vegeta. Bye Vegeta!"
god chris did such a better job and vegeta back then
i never heard vegeta so happy to know Goku might be back lol
“Alright the only planets I haven’t checked are Yardrat and Vampa”
Freeza :
Saiyans can’t survive the vacuum of space
Filler episodes: hold my beer
My best guess, it was Goku testing out his new instant transmission. Just hopping around the universe for a bit. Kinda outta character of him to not at least say “hi” to Vegeta though.
Amazing how many rocks in space have breathable air.
I really felt that 1:05 moment with so many things lol
it would have been a great mystery if they ended the series here. I think that would have been cool. but I do like the sagas that come after this lol
@Goofy Laws after the buu saga made good sense and maybe give everybody else room to shine not just kakarot if they had gone with a different approach thn super
@Info Room Lol
It would’ve. It probably would have been one of the greatest anime mysteries ever for decades to come if they ended here.
@@jiro1281 facts bro
@@jiro1281 it would've been painful to not know what happens later on,if you want that to be a ending you must really hate yourself
Have he tried the Muffin shop ? Gokou hangs out there all the time
Now vegeta has turned God of destruction.
Garlic Jr. Would have been so dead dead if Vegeta was still on earth. Lol.
Goku: Oh hey i just learned this cool technique from Planet Yardrat! I'm going to troll Vegeta with it!
Man vegeta was bugging in a space void talking to self caused mental illusions
I think it would have been pretty cool if the two meet in space.
