Centreville Amusement Park Review, Toronto Island Theme Park | Most Difficult Park to Visit?

  • Centreville Amusement Park is a small family park on Toronto's Centre Island. The park features just one roller coaster, but it has a great atmosphere and some notable rides like an indoor scrambler and a classic dark ride. While it's a great place for younger guests, it's one of the trickiest parks to visit since it's only accessible by a ferry in a busy city.

    “First you must find a parking spot in downtown Toronto”. That sentence right there is all the evidence people should need that this place is a pain to get to! 😂. Nice video as always.

    To solve the parking issues, park at a GO/subway stop on the outskirts of the city, and take the subway into downtown. Most of the GO stations have free or very cheap all-day parking, plus you avoid traffic and parking downtown. The Ferry station is just a short ways away from Union Station. Looking forward to taking my little boy here in the spring or summer!

    If youre going to centreville dont just visit the amusement park. There is a farm/petting zoo at the far end of the amusement park. Multiple beaches, a few restaurants, bike and canoe/kayak rentals, as well as lots of green space to picnic and hang out. The park may be small but you can spend hours on the island. The sunsets are a plus too

    I really enjoyed Centreville and the Toronto Islands. If you're already doing touristy stuff in Toronto, then it's definitely worth a visit. We did CN Tower in the morning and then walked to the ferry terminal. If anything, the journey to Centre Island is worth it for the stunning view of the Toronto skyline alone.

    I had a good time as a kid. Are the bumper cars still around? The scrambler was a highlight, but the bumper cars were the fastest we had ever experienced. With the lack of a wait, we went on it over and over slamming into each other at max speed.
    We spent a lot of time walking the trails and reading all the plaques.

    I got stuck in that holiday weekend there's-a-Jays-game traffic and I would suggest maybe even trying to find a day when that isn't happening. Probably won't manage to miss major events at both venues but it definitely made getting home from that musical a bit harder.

    Sunnyside Park was not located on the islands. Rather, it was located on the Lake Ontario shore along Humber Bay. The Gardiner Expressway paved it over.

    I find that sometimes you have to "work" for something to get a REWARD. If you ever ate boiled crawfish, the you know what I'm talking about. I told my sister when we visited Walt Disney World to take whatever from the car because we were 2 miles away from it! Parking lot tram to TTC to monorail/ferry. (Remember WHERE you parked!) One of those images you had reminded me of a Claude Monet painting. I would go there If I took a weeks vacation. It is a most charming off the beaten path park. And yeah, I want to visit that ball park Eh!

      @@CanobieCoaster more urban parks need direct public transportation access because 1. it would help a lot with staffing and 2. there's no reason you should have to drive from your hotel. In an area like Chicago, or Toronto, there's really no good reason you should ever have to visit with a car/drive around in a car if you're visiting the urban area. It'd be way cheaper and offer more time for fun!

      And more good tips;
      Avoid the TTC transit - it is scummy and the TTC Head Office are slobs who lost control of keeping it safe for many years.
      Instead, use GO Transit to go to Union station and then walk or take Uber to the Ferry which is close to Union Station.
      The parking options are usually rip-off rates; ideally, go when there are no concerts or sports games going on otherwise parking will have the scam 'special events' hike on the rates. It should be illegal as it's price-gouging.
      Don't drive in rush hours - go to the island in the morning and leave by early evening to avoid traffic hassles and over crowded ferry rides.
