Sharpness actually works on a Special move that can get boosted by it which is Air Slash

Imagine this leads to some metagame adaptations where now Hamurott runs Mixed sets just to get the extra damage against Great Tusk and Landorus. And also dealing with Glimmora without activating many layers of Toxic Debris.

It used to at the start of Gen 9 as a way to catch Great Tusk, but it's just not worth the power cut by splitting your EVs just for Tusk.

@@ancientpenguin94 It has other uses tho, like preventing Glimmora from activating Toxic Debris, doing more damage to Landorus, and also the coverage options that Hamurott has, like Grass Knot for the DonBOZO matchup, or Air Slash as another Sharpness boosted coverage that hits Rillaboom and Zamazenta.
I see it as a set that won't revolutionize the metagame, but is worth considering.

Keep Ceaseless Edge!! Ordinarily, special attackers are totally boned by Glowking and Clodsire. With a 97.5 BP STAB move that sets up spikes, you have a really good tool for them

I'd like to know why nobody uses Burning Bulwark on Gouging Fire. It's a really good move, especially if you need to stall out something like trick room or rain. Nobody expects it too, so you can catch a lot of physical attackers off guard. Bonus points for Booster Energy Speed on Gouging instead of Attack.

The title could use samuart because it sounds like smart as for the set I usually use scarf, as or sash for samu but specs definitely has a surprise factor that leaves the opponent off guard

The point of this set isn't to prove it's superior to Greninja's sets (because if it was, everyone would be using Special H-Samurott it instead of Greninja), but to catch people off-guard with (almost) as effective set as the commonly seen one.
Whenever you see H-Samurott, it's always physical one with Sharpness-boosted moves and having either Choice Band, Scarf, Life Orb, Heavy-Duty Boots or Focus Sash. But Specs H-Samurott is almost never seen, and while physical sets are superior, they are "predictable". And Specs H-Samurott has similar damage output to non-Band, and non-Orb physical H-Samurott, just on the special side.

@@InsaneGarrison25 yes, but many times u get ko's from people not switching. Its not exactly about being a special treat, its more like a gimmick to surprise your enemy and take important mons
