- In this video we’ll be putting a wooden gate in for our sheep coming this week. We will also be fixing a burst pipe on the digger

With the gate wood cracks saw dust and wood glue mix them together to fill in the cracks works a treat to keep the rot out

Yeah pva will work better than wood glue

Nothing like a post rammer for ease of putting in posts,one of my favorite pieces of gear when I worked on a farm.Bedrocks the problem we have on the Ratty especially in Eskdale.Not a criticism but if it was me I'd redo that top hinge it'll give the gate greater support for when kids and adults from your new campground climb the gate from the latch side,or use it as a swing gate.Forth Engineering a great firm,they overhauled one of our diesel engines here on the Ratty,they did a great job.
Aye your right I’ll probably redo it before then. Fella at Forth Engenerring is a top bloke would recommend to anyone. Do you work on the ratty or own it? I’ve always been into steam loco’s especially trains
@@loweswaterhillfarminglaked6572 No,wish I did own it, I'm a volunteer and a member of the Preservation Society Council,the railway though is owned by Lake District Estates who's head office is in Kendal.If you get a chance come over and visit when we're open again probably in April.
