Splintered is one of my favorite books. I have read Splintered and Unhinged and absolutely adored both of them. The last book in the series, Ensnared, just came out in January and I have yet to read it, but I can't wait. I had extremely high hopes for this book but in the end I though that it was okay :) I guess it was partly because of my high hopes, I had heard so much praise for the book before I picked it up. The cover is one of the prettiest ones I have ever seen and I'm looking forward to looking the sequel :) I had the same feeling as Jeb, only I disliked his over-protectiveness until the end xD Morpheus was in my opinion the most interesting character in the whole book :) Through the Looking Glass is my favourite Alice story!

Especially with the presence of Morpheus and his schemes, Splintered is a completely new direction that the Wonderland universe takes. This is what makes Splintered so much like Tim Burton's adaptation: it's not a retelling. It's taking Lewis Caroll's original story and expanding on it, making sense of it (since we all know there is little logic to the original story). But there's still a little bit of illogical stuff, and that's what makes me love Splintered.
I'm almost done with this book & am loving it!!! I have the 2nd & 3rd books on my kindle and just pre-ordered the paperback for the 3rd book as the 1st two I own in paperback as well. Also excited for Untamed to come out & also have The Moth on my Kindle...I just love this series!! :)

Okay so first of all, I did not finish the book. I am absolutely addicted to Alice in Wonderland and all the things that are related to the Wonderland so when I saw the book and read the plot of it a bit I fell in love. And the the writing was so good that it kept me read and read more till mornings. I loved it. But, here is my opinion about the characters: First of all I liked Alyssa very well. I agree with you about her character. But... Jeb or Jab or whatever its name was- God! Such a toxic wattpad-like character!!! Okay, as I read and the way the writer described him it was easy to fall for his lOOKS(!). But as you kept reading he was such an ordinary teenage wattpad male lead who actually does love the main female character bUT FOR SOME REASON dates w a bitch. And doesn't even have a reasonable reason for that. He just keeps making excuses about her and her dad and some other shits. Alyssa was pissed at him for those too as well, so I expected her to see his nonsensical part meanwhile I fell to-the-deepest-part-of-hell in love with Morpheus. He was perfect. With his downs and ups and his bad sides and good sides.... I was waiting for Alyssa to see how much he cares about her even as he talks to her as on the other hand AlySSA KEPT GETTING CLOSER TO JAB. So yes... I still had hopes and kept reading. Because I wanted Morpheus to get the attention he deserves. But than... his lover showed up whom he loved and cared very much to the point that I hated the character with no reason :P And I realized that the getting closer w Jab of Alyssa wasn't something temporary but was a build-up of their romantic relationship into something more serious. So. I dropped the book and I have never ever dropped a book. Even the shitty cliché wattpad ones. I was just angry at the author for not evek giving a second thought for a lover character for the main character. In my eyes, he only gotta be the neighbor boy who realized his stupid actions and that his shitty excuses didnt mean anything AFTER he lost 'the love of his life'. I wanted Alyssa to be with someone who ACTUALLY cares about her and not someone who just puts her in a dusty shelf until 'right time' as he fucks around w other bitched as he likes. And I really can't believe that there is no one else who does not like Jab?????? Like come on! He is an asshole! But I respect your thoughts as well. Please do not take my comment as an attack to the readers nor the author bUT THE CHARACTER. Yes, I would have liked the author to give us a more 'different' love story (which would be pleasurable as Alice in Wonderland is itself a different book, full of nonsense) than this which we can just find in every wattpad book with a lovetringle. So yeah... I just had to get this off my chest.... Bye
