  • These fish are used in Oklahoma's Close To Home fishing program. Hybrid bluegill are a blast to catch and get really big.

I really like the "close to home" program...it provides good fishing opportunity for us that don't have a boat. Keep up the good work.

Sad to see the close to home ponds being trashed and overfished lately, the new stockings will hopefully help them recover. Great work on stocking, there are some good sized fish in Hefner and Overholser that feed on the stocked fish a ton. Biggest fish I’ve caught so far in Overholser was a 15lb flathead, released for another day but sadly I’ve seen two 20-30lb+ flathead carcasses in the past month, one was below the dam and the other was complete opposite side of the lake. Sad to see the big ones die, but it’s good to see that they’re there.
Is there any word as to what’s going on with the Overholser dam? I’ve heard talk that the city is planning on making it no longer a city water source, not sure of the credibility of it though.

Should have done a video with someone who can talk. Guy couldn’t get out what he was trying to say.

We use real people in our videos, most of our biologists are just that, real biologists and not tv personalities. What we do notice is that the more we ask them to be on video that they get better with each try. Thanks for watching!
