That was such a great and super funny video! You two crack me up! April…. You’re gonna need to master your coffee. 😂😂. Thanks again for helping me find the trailhead! 💙 🐦
My pack weighed in at 23 lbs without food and water. I was wearing my winter clothes when I weighed it, though. This hike turned out to be warmer than I expected, so the winter clothes were in the pack at the very end. We also took 7 days of food each and didn't account for the three days when a trail angel fed us a full meal. The bottom line is that we had way too much food!
@@tracyhinton9793 Awesome. I’m sure he told you about my trail condition report. About 30 minutes later I was feeling really bad about saying it was an easy section!
Oh my gosh, I can't imagine how hot I'd be with Frogg Togg pants over another pair of pants. Hey, love that old family bluegrass soundtrack! Y'all are pretty clever with the placement of those clip mics. A couple of times I was like, How can we hear April so well? She's got a mic somewhere? Where is it? Hehe. Where did you camp on the last night? Nice video!
We're crossing off the final to-do's on our list and even discussed leaving a day or three earlier than planned if we can swing it! Mid-February is still the target.
I tried to carry my food up top, but it felt top heavy and pulled on my shoulders. If you could fit them at the bottom of the pack, would you? My new pack just fits the 450 at the bottom. When I hung a bear bag, I could put it about two-thirds deep, which worked out well for me. Weight distribution with those cans can be a real bear ;
I think April puts hers near the top most of the time, and I put mine in sideways where the bottom side is about 1/2 way down and where the top side of the can is level with where the chest straps attach to the pack. On top of that, I put my rain gear and puffy. April and I find ourselves taking the can out of the pack at least once a day for one reason or another, normally a lunch break.
Towards the end of the video at 24:20 April said she had given up on coffee on the trail. Today, she tasted my espresso roast without anything added, and she may be back on the coffee train if we can find this blend for her to take on the trail. We'll see!

Did I miss something or did they not say how that powdered stuff was in the coffee?
