I’m currently in school for hvac and found this video because we’re studying capacitors. I’ve always wanted to know what was inside of them. Thank you for sharing this video.

Going through edumacating myself on this today due to an air-conditioner that isn't working. I love how you've taken it to another level and actually cut into several capacitors to actually show what the innards are. Good for you. Thanks for doing this and sharing. Continued success in all you do.

I had to replace my capacitor and now I know, what's in one! Thanks!! It's always interesting to find what's in stuff.I still got to replace my fan on airconditioning unit.

A good friend of mine just replaced the capacitor on our A/C unit. He told me that the material inside is Cancerous and should not be handled. You may want to consider wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) before tearing into something. I work with chemicals at work that I have to do the same with. Also,if you do get something on you, do not use HOT water to get it off. That will open up your pores and let the substance travel into your blood stream, then to your liver. Just trying to help.

are you really saying that anything you get on your hand and then wash with hot water will enter your blood stream?

I think that he might have been talking about older capacitors that contain PCBs (Polychlorinated biphenyl) in the oil. If the capacitor is labeled "No PCBs," you are OK. Otherwise, be careful about handling and disposal.

Those capators would just have some kind of oil. PCB's were banned in 1979. Nothing he showed is that old.

I gave a thumbs up for presentation. But I wasn't clear with my question. I am so stoopid..😒
I was wondering what was inside a capacitor. But more so as to the material that makes up the inside capacitor. 🤔 bout to say to hell with it. thanks. nice video

      CONCENTRIC PLATES,SPHERES AND HOLLOW CYLINDERS
OUT OF WHICH ONE GETS EARTHING WHICH MAKES THE OTHER PLATE HAVING SIMILAR BUT OPPOSITE CHARGE DUE TO WHICH THE ELECTRIC FIELD GETS BOUNDED BETWEEN THE PLATES..which makes the electrical energy to be stored..

May I ask why there is a resistor inside the microwave AC capacitor?
Can AC capacitor used to store DC current? Or they are not compatible?

Have a 3/4 hp a/c compressor that starts fine, runs for a minute then shuts off, compressor was at normal operating temperature. I Let it cool down for a few hrs and when plugged it in start capacitor overheated and blew white smoke so I shut it off. My clamp on meter shows 25 amp continuous draw when starting and running(not good). Compressor starts right away and seems to run normal (only 2yrs old), r134a level is good, evap gets cold right away, good suction on low side. Any solutions?

    • @donaldsavage5273

bill richards you need a new relay for the compressor should solve your problem if not put a jump start kit on it

If they are from the 1980's or earlier, they could contain PCB's and are considered extremely carcinogenic .

Its OK in the woods/forest unlike batteries,
      Or electronics,
      Valuable ones,
Nothing if its a non valuable/value or plastics are all OK to bury if its notj UST plastic,
