I managed to win a Hot Wheels sweepstakes when I was still potty training. Supposedly there was some HW branded 'targets' that you could use to help train your kids to urinate in the toilet. I'm told I managed to whiz all over a *special golden target* - earning my parents a few thousand dollars and giving me a small box of special Hot Wheels cars. Uncovered the cars a few years back in an old storage shed and now they're in my closet, still in the wrappers. Yep. My big win was for peeing on something when I was just escaping diapers. Yay.
Yknow those Dino Dig things made of chalk? I bought one of those at a boardwalk except it was a gemstone one, so you could get like tourmaline and turquoise and whatnot. The _Grand Prize_ was if you got a diamond. So there I am, block of chalk in hand, and I was taking far too long to get anything done until my mom gave me an ice pick so I could dig through it faster (my mom is awesome). So anyway I stabbed my hand before I could get to the center because as it turns out giving a ~7 year old an ice pick was a COMPLETELY REASONABLE AND AWESOME IDEA LFG (my mom is awesome). Oh yeah I also got the diamond btw.
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg sweepstakes from FoxBox. Got the game, a shirt and silly putty in a egg case. Don't know if there was grand prize that was something more.

You can get around the "skill needed" requirement for a contest by using trivia questions that anyone with a concious mind can answer - its a pretty common thing over in the UK. Presumably the laws give some sort of incentive to contests over sweepstakes - not sure how that would apply with US laws.
