Bill Wilson recorded this in 1950, the day after AA co-founder Dr Bob's death. The photo is of an actor who played Bill Wilson in a movie but the actual sound is his voice recorded at an AA meeting.
The play was called “Moments” and we present the performance of “Bill Wilson on the Day Dr. Bob Died,” written and performed by Bill M., of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Setting the Story Straight on the ‘Kips Bay Group’ Audio Recording (See page 4)
This is an act spoken by actor Bill McNiff in 1990's in effort to teach others the history. Bill M had No intention to deceive any one by acting as Bill W. then.
oh, do tell me more. I recently found this audio on a tape in a thrift shop labelled "Bill WIlson AA 1950" and was taken back by the sound quality for a 1950's recording, this makes a lot more sense.

One of the things that I never liked and it varies from AA or NA facilities you go to the many will tell you after being clean and sober 5 years 10 years 15 or 20 that if you fall off the wagon you lose these victories I'm a drug and alcohol counselor for 15 years and I tell all my clients that is total bullshit ... did Babe Ruth not hit 60 home runs in a season because he struck out and struck out several times does Hank Aaron lose his homerun record of 357 because he struck out or grounded out or flew out no I don't think so so anytime someone tells me they fell off the wagon brother with alcohol or narcotics I said how long of a Benz did you go on they say two or three days that I tell him you have 365 victories per year plus three losses can you pick up on day 368 Period and you lose nothing those are yours it's in the book and nobody can take those away from you!
